Why It Happens
A transcript only exists if the video has captions: uploaded by the creator or generated by YouTube. Older uploads, some non-English videos and videos with captions turned off have none, so there is nothing to show or import.
The Fix
Paste the URL into ChannelScout. If captions exist, it uses them. If they do not, a single-video request falls back to Whisper, which transcribes the audio into timestamped text.

No. Whisper needs audio ChannelScout can access. Members-only, private, removed, live and upcoming videos cannot be transcribed.

Is a Whisper transcript as accurate as captions?
