Terms of Service
Last updated: March 26, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using ChannelScout ("the Service"), operated by Navecta LLC ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
ChannelScout provides tools for extracting, analyzing, and searching YouTube video transcripts, as well as creating short video clips. The Service is designed for research, commentary, criticism, education, and other fair use purposes.
3. Fair Use & Copyright
You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of transcripts and clips complies with applicable copyright law, including fair use provisions (17 U.S.C. § 107). The Service is a tool — it does not grant you rights to any third-party content. You agree not to use the Service for systematic downloading, redistribution, or commercial exploitation of copyrighted material beyond fair use.
4. Account & Billing
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. You may cancel at any time; your plan remains active until the end of the billing period. Refunds are available within 7 days of initial purchase. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice to existing subscribers.
5. Usage Limits & Fair Use Policy
Each plan has defined limits for transcripts, clips, quality, and retention. Automated or excessive use beyond reasonable human interaction may result in temporary rate limiting or account suspension. We enforce daily fair use limits across all plans.
6. Clip Retention & Deletion
Clips are stored for the retention period specified by your plan (7 days for Free Trial up to permanent for Studio). After the retention period, clips are automatically deleted. Download your clips before they expire. Upon cancellation, Studio clips are retained for 90 days.
7. Prohibited Uses
You may not: (a) use the Service to violate any law or infringe any rights; (b) attempt to bypass rate limits or usage restrictions; (c) share account credentials; (d) use automated scripts or bots to access the Service; (e) redistribute transcripts or clips at scale for commercial purposes without authorization from the original content creators.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee transcript accuracy, clip availability, or uninterrupted service. YouTube may block or restrict access at any time, which may affect Service functionality.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Navecta LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
