Search YouTube Transcripts
for the Exact Words

Paste a YouTube link, get the full transcript, and search it for a word, a phrase or a name. Every match has a timestamp that opens the video on YouTube at that moment.

Free plan, no credit card required. Your first transcripts need no signup.

The Problem

YouTube search finds videos by title and description. It does not tell you where, inside a two-hour video, someone said the thing you are looking for. Scrubbing the timeline by hand takes longer than the video itself.

The Solution

ChannelScout turns the video into searchable text. Type what you remember, see every line that matches, and open the video at the right second from its timestamp.

What You Can Search

Search Syntax That Scales

Inside a transcript, use AND, OR and NOT, "exact phrases", wildcards like proph*, and proximity such as NEAR/5. A regex toggle is there when you need it.

Timestamps on Every Match

Each line shows its time in the video, and the timestamp is a link that opens YouTube at that moment.

Search Across Your Library

With a free account, saved transcripts stay in your Library. Search all of them at once, narrow results to one channel, and sort by date.

Works Without Captions

When a video has no captions, Whisper can transcribe the audio within your plan allowance, so there is still text to search.

See Mentions Over Time

Library search can chart how often a term appears month by month across the transcripts you saved.

Take the Text With You

Download the transcript as plain text, text with timestamps, Markdown, SRT, CSV or HTML.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I search every YouTube video at once?

No. ChannelScout searches transcripts you open or save, not all of YouTube. Library search covers every transcript saved to your account, so the more channels and videos you collect, the wider your search.

Does it work on videos without captions?

Often, yes. When there are no captions, a single-video request can fall back to Whisper, which transcribes the audio. Free accounts include 3 Whisper transcriptions a month, up to 60 minutes in total. Private and members-only videos cannot be transcribed.

Do I need an account?

Not for your first transcripts. You need a free account to save transcripts to your Library and search across them later.
