Export YouTube Transcripts
in the Format Your Tools Read
Get a clean YouTube transcript and download it as text, Markdown, SRT, CSV or HTML. Export one video or your whole Library as a zip.
Free plan, no credit card required. Your first transcripts need no signup.
The Problem
Copying a transcript out of YouTube gives you broken lines and stray timestamps, and AI tools often cannot read the video at all when captions are missing.
The Solution
ChannelScout gives you the transcript as a file. Upload it to ChatGPT or NotebookLM as a text source, open it in a spreadsheet, or use it as subtitles.
Export Formats
Plain Text
Just the words, for pasting into ChatGPT, NotebookLM or a document. A second option keeps [m:ss] timestamps on each line.
Markdown
Every timestamp is a clickable YouTube link to that moment. Works well in Obsidian, Notion and NotebookLM.
HTML
A readable page with clickable timestamps you can open in any browser or archive.
CSV
One row per segment with its time and a YouTube link, for spreadsheets and analysis.
SRT Subtitles
Standard subtitle timing for video editors and players.
Whole Library as a Zip
Any signed-in account can export saved transcripts as a zip with channel folders, an index.csv, and with CSV format an optional combined CSV.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a VTT or JSON export?
Not for original transcripts today. The formats are TXT, TXT with timestamps, Markdown, SRT, CSV and HTML. AI translations on paid plans can also be downloaded as VTT.
Is there a direct ChatGPT or NotebookLM integration?
No. You download a file and add it to those tools yourself. Plain text and Markdown are the simplest choices.
Can I export many transcripts at once?
Yes. Library export builds a zip of your saved transcripts, organized by channel, with an index.csv. With CSV format, a combined CSV is optional.
