[0:00] Hey everyone, I just got back from
[0:01] Google I/O, and I want to share my
[0:02] thoughts on Google's AI strategy. Now,
[0:05] Google is a sponsor of my content, and I
[0:07] really want them to succeed, but I want
[0:08] to be honest with you all about what I
[0:10] think is working and isn't working.
[0:13] Here are all the AI products that they
[0:14] launched at I/O.
[0:16] Now, this looks like a flex, but I think
[0:18] it's actually a problem. Google is
[0:21] launching so many AI products that users
[0:23] don't really know where to start
[0:24] anymore.
[0:26] I think this tweet from Nathan says it
[0:28] all. Google has Gemini, AI Studio,
[0:30] Anti-Gravity, Spark Flow, Stitch,
[0:32] Pomelo, and more. It's getting really
[0:34] confusing for consumers and enterprises
[0:37] which product to use for what.
[0:40] So, overall, I think Google needs to
[0:41] focus its products on winning three AI
[0:44] races that really matter right now. The
[0:46] race to evolve chat to a personal agent,
[0:50] the race to build a super app for coding
[0:52] and knowledge work, and the race to
[0:54] expand beyond text to multimodal,
[0:57] images, videos, and more.
[1:00] So, let me walk through each one.
[1:02] First, the race to evolve chat to a
[1:04] personal agent. You know, I think the AI
[1:06] chat era is coming to an end. People
[1:09] don't want AI that just replies in chat,
[1:11] they want an AI that can actually get
[1:13] work done for them. That's why I'm
[1:15] convinced that AI personal agents are
[1:18] going to be a massive market, probably
[1:19] $1 trillion or more.
[1:21] Not everyone wants to write code stuff,
[1:23] but everyone really wants a personal
[1:25] agent or chief of staff that can do work
[1:28] for them.
[1:29] So, here's my mental
