[0:05] From ABC, this is World News Saturday.
[0:09] Here's Aaron Brown.
[0:11] >> Good evening. The US government is
[0:12] demanding that North Korea release two
[0:14] American soldiers whose helicopter was
[0:16] forced down inside North Korea
[0:18] yesterday. The North Koreans say they
[0:20] shot the helicopter down and are
[0:22] interrogating the crew. Army Chief
[0:25] Warrant Officers David Hillman of
[0:26] Clarksville, Tennessee, and Bobby Hall
[0:29] of Brooksville, Florida. And while that
[0:31] is going on, so are the negotiations to
[0:34] get the two men out. Here's ABC's Mark
[0:36] Litkkey.
[0:38] >> The first reports on South Korean
[0:40] television sounded ominous. North

[0:45] border gunners had shot down an enemy

[1:01] helicopter had apparently crash landed 3
[1:03] m inside North Korean territory while on
[1:06] a routine mission along the heavily
[1:08] fortified demilitarized zone. A
[1:10] spokesman here called it an unarmed
[1:13] familiarization flight for a newly
[1:15] assigned pilot. One of the pilots, of
[1:17] course, is experienced and the other one
[1:20] would be inexperienced, learning
[1:22] learning the terrain. That's that was
[1:23] their mission.
[1:24] >> He could not say how or why the chopper
[1:27] strayed into North Korean airspace.
[1:30] Messages have already been sent to North
[1:32] Korea through the usual military
[1:33] channels at the border village of
[1:35] Panunjam asking that the pilots be
[1:37] retur
