[0:49] of the war for you tonight we begin with
[0:51] a late breaking development an explosion
[0:54] in Kuwait CBS News correspondent Mark
[0:57] Phillips is there and he tells you what
[0:59] he know knows and doesn't know about
[1:01] this blast so far
[1:04] Mark Dan after days of alerts and false
[1:07] alarms the war did come to Kuwait this
[1:10] evening a huge explosion rocked the
[1:12] entire Center of Kuwait City and it
[1:14] didn't go off terribly far from here
[1:16] just to the right of that illuminated
[1:18] building you can see behind me perhaps a
[1:20] mile and a half away a large blast shook
[1:23] apart a shopping mall called the shark
[1:26] Suk which is Arabic for Market the
[1:28] damage to the interior ior of the
[1:30] shopping mall seemed to be reasonably
[1:33] extensive but as this explosion took
[1:35] place at 10 to 2 in the morning here
[1:37] luckily there were no Shoppers around
[1:39] and there do not appear to be at this
[1:40] stage at least uh any casualties it's
[1:43] also unclear what caused this explosion
[1:46] early reports were that it was a missile
[1:48] later reports were that it was a bomb
[1:50] the debris seemed to suggest it could
