[0:00] I'll see. You'll get it fixed.
[0:01] >> See you soon.
[0:04] >> From ABC, this is World News Tonight
[0:08] with Peter Jennings.
[0:09] >> Good evening. It is 30 days almost to
[0:11] the hour since the war began. A day on
[0:13] which in the US and Europe and all
[0:14] across the Middle East. Millions of
[0:16] people first thought that a political
[0:18] solution to the war was possible and
[0:20] then saw their expectations dashed.
[0:23] Saddam Hussein appeared to say that he
[0:24] would pull out of Kuwait, but he also
[0:26] appeared to say there were certain
[0:28] conditions. A ceasefire, an end to
[0:30] sanctions, all foreign forces out of the

[1:00] coalition without taking the Iraqi army
[1:03] out of Kuwait. To Mr. Bush, this
[1:05] morning's announcement from Baghdad
[1:06] seemed just such an attempt. There is
[1:09] nothing new here. It is a hoax. There
[1:12] are new demands added and it I feel very
[1:15] sorry for the people in Iraq and I feel
[1:17] sorry for the families in this country
[1:19] who probably felt as I did this morning
[1:22] when they heard the television that
[1:23] maybe we really had a a shot for peace
[1:26] today. Later, du
