[0:06] >> from ABC. This is World News Tonight
[0:09] with Peter Jennings.
[0:10] >> Good evening. It is 3 weeks since the
[0:11] war began and tough times lie ahead. So
[0:14] said the Secretary of State Jim Baker
[0:16] today. It was Mr. Baker's turn to say
[0:18] that Saddam Hussein's military
[0:20] capabilities should not be
[0:21] underestimated.
[0:23] Today in the war, two Iraqi jets
[0:25] apparently trying to leave the country
[0:26] for Iran were intercepted by US pilots
[0:28] and shot down. The Iraqis say that 281
[0:32] missile raids and other air attacks were
[0:34] carried out against them. In the last 24
[0:36] hours, they say that in the southern
[0:38] Iraqi city of Nasaria,

[0:43] children. One Marine general said today

[1:08] looking up uh and all they'll see is a
[1:11] air a black aircraft being tracked
[1:13] across the uh the white underside of the
[1:15] clouds. The British said they bombed
[1:17] four more bridges in Iraq, but they
[1:19] admitted that direct hits on Republican
[1:21] Guard positions have been difficult
[1:23] because Iraq is using decoys.
[1:26] >> They've got these um wooden tanks, I
[1:28] understand, covered in uh some sort of
[1:30] tin foil or something that will actually
[1:32] reflect radar. Uh and they're also as a
[1:35] as
