[21:22] well I just know the Lord's with me the

[21:24] Lord's with me but then you'll find him

[21:26] on another day

[21:32] day and their

[21:34] emotional state has been affected by the

[21:38] darkness that they are

[21:42] in two times in

[21:45] scripture the word of God talks about

[21:49] Joseph two times in his journey through

[21:53] Genesis that we find two times that the

[21:56] Bible says the Lord was was with

[22:01] Joseph and then right after that there

[22:04] is some

[22:06] evidences of how a life should

[22:09] be when you know that the Lord is with

[22:12] you so if you're able to would you

[22:14] please stand in honor of the word of God

[23:12] 20 and Joseph's Master took him and put

[23:20] prison a place where the king's

[23:23] prisoners were

[23:24] bound and he was there in prison on

[23:28] false

[23:29] charges he didn't do anything

[23:33] wrong verse 21 but the Lord was with

[23:38] Joseph and showed him mercy and gave him

[23:42] favor in the sight of The Keeper of the

[23:47] prison two times it's mentioned in

[23:50] scripture the Lord was with

[23:55] Joseph some things that are noticed

[23:59] Joseph I think will be helpful to you

[24:02] and I to consider in our own moments in

[24:06] our own lives let's go Lord in prayer

[26:39] him so Joseph's brothers the last memory

[26:43] he has of them before he gets to Egypt

[27:04] slave he's been a young man at Daddy's

[27:20] coming verse two and the Lord was with

[27:26] Joseph and he was a prosper

[27:29] man and he was in the house of his

[27:32] master the Egyptian look at verse three

[27:34] and his master watch this saw that the

[27:38] Lord was with

[27:42] him and that the Lord made all that he

[27:45] did to

[27:47] prosper in his

[27:50] hand and Joseph found Grace in his sight

[27:54] and he served him and he made him

[27:57] overseer over his house and all that he

[28:01] had to put into his hand and it came to

[28:05] pass from the time that he had made him

[28:08] Overseer in his house and over all that

[28:11] he had the Lord blessed the Egyptians

[28:13] house watch this for Joseph's

[28:18] sake and the blessing of the Lord was

[28:20] upon all that he had in the house and in

[28:24] the field and he left all that he had in

[28:27] Joseph's hand

[28:28] and he knew not all he had save the

[28:32] bread which he did eat and Joseph was a

[28:35] goodly person and well

[28:40] favored Joseph's in

[28:43] slavery not a wonderful place to

[28:47] be but in the moment of being in slavery

[28:50] others noticed that the Lord was with

[28:54] Joseph how does that happen letter A

[28:57] today car character

[29:00] revealed in slavery Joseph's character

[29:03] was

[29:06] revealed not not on the day that he got

[29:09] to be promoted to number two in the

[29:11] kingdom was his character revealed

[29:13] listen his character was revealed when

[29:15] he was in

[29:17] slavery in the dark

[29:19] moments the hard moments Joseph's

[29:22] character is revealed and it's not a

[29:26] secret potier notices there's something

[30:12] wasn't recognized that Joseph was a good

[30:16] employee it wasn't recognized that

[30:19] Joseph fulfilled all his task as a slave

[30:23] no it was recognized by a unsaved person

[30:27] that the Lord Lord was with

[30:32] Joseph if you'll notice in your text the

[30:35] Lord L all capital letters referencing

[30:37] the name

[30:39] Jehovah Piper even though the Egyptians

[30:42] had other gods he did not say it did not

[30:46] say that he recognized he was a

[30:47] religious

[30:49] man it said he they noticed that the

[30:51] Lord was with

[30:53] him and later on in verse three it says

[30:56] this and and that the Lord the Lord the

[31:01] who the Lord made

[31:04] all made all that he did to

[31:07] prosper in his

[31:10] hand who saw

[31:14] that look at verse three who saw

[31:17] that Piper saw Piper saw what that the

[31:21] Lord made

[31:23] all that Joseph did prosperous in his

[31:27] hand

[31:29] I wonder how that happened more than

[31:32] likely somebody talked about

[31:34] it probably named

[31:38] Joseph his character is

[31:41] revealed but also his character is at

[31:45] work notice verse

[31:50] prosperous that the Lord made all that

[31:55] did to prosper he worked

[32:00] verse four Joseph found Grace in his

[32:02] sight and he served

[32:04] him and he made him overseer over his

[32:07] house and all that he had put into his

[32:10] hand Joseph's character showed up at

[32:15] work and God blessed Joseph's

[32:20] faithfulness by blessing him through

[32:24] Piper so much so Piper doesn't even know

[32:28] what he's got in the

[32:29] bank we're bring it up to today's

[32:31] vacular P doesn't even know that he's

[32:33] got in the bank he just knows it's time

[32:35] to eat I sit down and

[32:38] eat every the F that's how good of a job

[33:29] it came to pass from that time he made

[33:30] him the Overseer in his house and over

[33:32] all that he had and the Lord blessed the

[33:34] Egyptians

[33:35] house for Joseph's

[33:39] sake and you want to be a good

[33:42] employee have some

[33:45] character have some character in your

[33:47] work that others say the Lord's with

[33:49] them and you know what God might do he

[33:52] might bless the company you work for for

[33:55] your sake

[33:59] some of you may be enjoying the

[34:01] blessings of God in your job because

[34:06] you're just being faithful in your

[34:09] character just being faithful in your

[34:13] character so the Lord's with him in

[34:17] slavery his character is revealed his

[34:19] character is at work God blesses

[34:22] Joseph's faithfulness and other people

[34:24] are getting in on the blessings

[34:30] verse seven

[34:32] comes while Joseph's been promoted to

[34:34] number two in the house while Joseph's

[34:37] character is speaking while Joseph's

[34:39] character is at work while God's

[34:41] faithfulness God's blessing is

[34:43] faithfulness verse seven happens it came

[34:45] to pass after these

[34:47] things that his master's Wife cast her

[34:50] eyes upon Joseph and she said lie with

[34:55] me

[34:58] but he

[35:00] refused and said to his master's wife

[35:04] behold my master wasth not what is with

[35:07] me in the house and he hath committed

[35:09] all that he had to my hand there is none

[35:12] greater in this house than I neither ha

[35:14] he kept back anything from me but thee

[35:16] because Thou Art his wife how can I do

[35:19] this great wickedness and sin against

[35:24] God but that's not the end of the story

[35:26] verse 10 and it came to pass as she

[35:28] spake to Joseph day by

[35:31] day by

[35:34] day that he hearken not unto her to lie

[35:36] with her or to be with

[35:40] her Temptation

[35:42] came even though he's enjoying the

[35:45] blessings even though he's got some

[35:48] character Temptation

[35:51] came verse 11 came to pass about this

[35:54] time that Joseph went in the house to do

[35:55] his business there was no none of the

[35:57] men of the house there within she caught

[36:00] him by His Garment saying lie with me

[36:03] and he left his garment in her hand and

[36:05] fled and got him

[36:07] out even though the Lord is with Joseph

[36:11] in slavery would you agree that God's

[36:12] with

[36:14] him would you agree the Lord's with

[36:17] Joseph the Bible said

[36:20] so the blessings of God are coming to

[36:23] the job coming to the workpl coming to

[36:27] his L for Joseph's

[36:29] sake he's resisting

[36:32] temptation he's saying no he's saying no

[36:36] he's saying no and then a false

[36:38] accusation

[36:43] comes and

[36:46] now the story takes a new turn look at

[36:50] 19 it came to pass when his master heard

[36:55] the words of his wife which she spake

[36:58] unto him saying after this manner did

[37:01] thy servant to me that his wrath was

[37:05] kindled and Joseph's Master took him and

[37:08] put him into prison wait a minute where

[37:11] did that come

[37:13] from my

[37:16] character my character

[37:19] boss my character

[37:22] potier you see God's blessing us God's

[37:28] work but in a moment false accusation

[37:34] comes another Spiral down happens in

[37:37] Joseph's

[37:39] life I don't know about

[37:42] you you ever got the news today's your

[37:45] last

[37:47] day you didn't get thrown into prison

[37:50] but you got let go from a

[37:52] job and you

[37:55] thought I didn't see this one coming

[37:59] I didn't anticipate

[38:01] this I've been doing right I've been

[38:04] doing

[38:08] good and maybe there's a false

[38:11] accusation made against

[38:13] you that

[38:15] even everyone else says there's no way

[38:19] there's no

[38:21] way do somebody beli the

[38:24] lie so now he was brought down to Egypt

[38:28] and sold into slavery because he was

[38:30] sold to the Israelites by his

[38:32] brother now he's not only been in

[38:36] slavery now he's thrown into

[38:38] prison like it couldn't get

[38:42] worse at least as a slave I got to see

[38:45] the light of

[38:46] day at least as a slave I had freedom to

[38:49] roam around a little

[38:52] bit now he's in

[38:56] prison and in prison after a false

[38:59] accusation he didn't do anything

[39:01] wrong look at verse

[39:03] 20 Joseph Master took him put him into

[39:07] prison place where the king's prisoners

[39:09] were bound and he was there in the

[39:13] prison but don't you love those butt God

[39:17] moments but the Lord was with

[39:21] Joseph and showed him

[39:25] mercy and gave him

[39:28] favor in the sight of The Keeper of the

[39:32] prison so in a dark moment in

[39:35] prison the Bible says the Lord was with

[39:40] Joseph the Lord was with him when he got

[39:42] to Egypt the Lord was with him when he

[39:44] got sold into slavery the Lord was with

[39:46] him when he was thrown into

[39:49] prison I don't know about you but some

[39:51] of us might be

[39:53] tempted and bad things start happening

[39:56] and

[39:57] multiple

[39:59] forms

[40:01] God a little upset with

[40:03] you God I'm a little mad at you why did

[40:08] you let this happen to

[40:12] me so let's look at verse

[40:14] 22 and see what

[40:17] happened and The Keeper of the prison

[40:20] committed to Joseph hand all the

[40:24] prisoners that were in the prison

[40:27] and whatsoever they did

[40:30] there he was the doer of it and The

[40:34] Keeper of the prisoner looked not to

[40:35] anything that was under his hand

[40:38] because why the Lord was with him and

[40:45] that which he did the Lord made it to

[40:49] prosper so in prison the Lord is with

[40:52] him so what happens letter a character

[40:56] is revealed

[40:59] in prison now last time it was in

[41:02] slavery now we're in prison characters

[41:04] revealed Joseph's character is revealed

[41:08] it it says in verse 21 that the Lord was

[41:10] with Joseph and showed him mercy and

[41:12] gave him favor in the sight of The

[41:14] Keeper of the

[41:17] prison but

[41:19] also they put in Joseph's hand all the

[41:23] prisoners you're the new

[41:25] guy we're put you in charge of

[41:29] everybody not only we going to put you

[41:31] in charge of

[41:33] everybody but we're not even going to

[41:35] pay attention to what you

[41:36] do look at look at the text verse 22

[41:39] here the prison committed Joseph's hand

[41:41] all the prisoners that were in the

[41:42] prison and whatsoever they did there he

[41:45] was the doer of it and The Keeper of the

[41:46] prison looked not to anything that was

[41:49] under his

[41:52] hand

[41:54] wow how does that happen well evidently

[41:58] the prison Warden thought I don't need

[41:59] to worry about

[42:02] Joseph because Joseph's got some

[42:04] character because the Lord is with

[42:08] Joseph so there's character revealed and

[42:11] Joseph works in the prison in fact he's

[42:13] going to be there for a number of

[42:16] years in the

[42:18] prison

[42:19] working like rising up in

[42:23] leadership because God's blessing him

[42:25] why does God bless because God bless his

[42:27] faithfulness and God bless his

[42:30] character so his character is at

[42:34] work and so like in slavery letter see

[42:37] God blessed Joseph's

[42:40] faithfulness he blessed his

[42:45] faithfulness and then a day came that

[42:47] chapter 40

[42:48] happened in chapter 40 the

[42:51] butler the baker have been cast into

[42:55] prison they've got dreams Joseph tells

[43:01] me but what happens at the end of

[43:03] chapter 40 a

[44:09] years that Pharaoh dreamed and behold he

[45:53] Joseph had two dark moments

[45:58] one in slavery one in the prison but

[46:01] don't forget what did the Bible say the

[46:04] Lord was with

[46:09] him

[46:10] so how can you and I in the dark moments

[46:14] of life in the struggles of life be like

[46:21] Joseph what's in front of you needs to

[46:25] be done for the glory of

[46:29] God what's in front of

[46:32] you Joseph didn't know what was ahead

[46:35] but he knew what was in front of him so

[46:39] what's in front of you needs to be done

[46:42] for the glory of God Colossians 3:23

[46:46] tells us to do it heartily as unto the

[46:48] Lord and not unto men 1 Corinthians

[46:50] 10:31 whether therefore you eat or drink

[46:53] or whatsoever you do do all to the glory

[46:56] of godone one of the struggles I have as

[46:59] a middle-aged

[47:03] Pastor is that I get to talk to some

[47:05] young men and I have a hard time I do I

[47:08] have a hard time because when I got into

[47:11] the workforce and really began working

[47:13] even in in early management uh of

[47:16] working in a restaurant and all that

[47:18] stuff you know it was like $10 to $12 an

[47:22] hour that was considered good pay

[47:28] and now I see young men that are in

[47:31] their 20s are like yeah I need like a

[47:33] $35 an hour

[47:36] job no you know what you need to do

[47:40] what's in front of you needs to be done

[47:41] for the glory of God if you'll do what's

[47:43] in front of you guess what will happen

[47:45] when it's God's time God will bring you

[47:48] to what he needs you to

[47:50] be so just do what's in right in front

[47:53] of you do everything for the glory of

[47:56] God

[47:58] God you say but it's but Pastor you

[48:01] don't understand it's like slavery

[48:04] here wait a minute I think there's

[48:07] somebody in the Bible that could teach

[48:09] us something about like when you're in

[48:13] slavery character

[48:16] revealed show up to work be

[48:20] Godly be Godly don't just be a good

[48:24] employee be a Godly employee

[48:27] do you recognize what could happen if

[48:30] God's people would be Godly employees

[48:32] and have character revealed at their

[48:35] workplace I don't know it may affect the

[48:38] eternity of some of your

[48:40] co-workers some of your co-workers May

[48:42] recognize that God is with you and they

[48:45] may say I want what they

[48:48] got how can I get what they got and you

[48:51] can have an opportunity to lead people

[48:52] to Christ by just being a Godly

[48:55] employee but listen Christian men

[48:58] Christian women don't put a bad name for

[49:02] Christ by you being a

[49:06] un Godly

[49:10] employee don't do

[49:14] that it is

[49:15] shameful when employers look at people

[49:19] who don't know the Lord as better

[49:22] employees than people who know the

[49:25] Lord it ought not to be named among

[49:28] us we ought to be Godly employees well I

[49:32] need this or I need that no you just

[49:33] need to do what's in front of you needs

[49:36] to be done for the glory of

[49:38] God but not only in the workforce but in

[49:42] serving in the

[49:43] church what's in front of you ought to

[49:46] be done for the glory of

[49:50] God you may be in the schedule for the

[49:55] bathrooms and you're in there're

[49:56] cleaning the

[49:58] toilets and you're singing you ask me

[50:01] why I'm happy so I'll just tell you why

[50:04] it's because my sins are

[50:06] gone not because of what's in the

[50:12] toilet

[50:15] amen you may be in the

[50:17] nursery and and and you may be holding

[50:20] that precious little one and you pull

[50:23] them out and say oh you're so precious

[50:25] in the sight of the Lord

[50:32] but

[50:33] listen we're doing it for the glory of

[50:37] God that's what we do it

[50:41] for so your character can be revealed

[50:45] your character God could have blessed

[50:47] your job and your job your career your

[50:50] work force because of

[50:52] you and some of you might want to

[50:54] underline that verse in Genesis 39 that

[50:57] says that the Lord blessed the Egyptians

[51:01] house for Joseph's

[51:04] sake and you ought to

[51:06] evaluate whether you're working in such

[51:08] a Godly way that God would bless your

[51:11] boss and bless your

[51:13] job because of how you're

[51:17] working principles don't

[51:20] change God's looking for people who will

[51:24] have their character revealed DL Moody

[51:27] said it well character is what you are

[51:29] in the dark that's two things one I I

[51:34] think I don't know if he did it this way

[51:35] on purpose reading some of the things by

[51:38] DL Moody he may have left it this way on

[51:40] purpose but character is what you are in

[51:41] the dark some would hear that and say

[51:43] that's what you are when no one else is

[51:50] yourself that's where your true

[51:52] revealed but also in the dark moments of

[51:57] Faith that's when your true character is

[52:00] revealed your character is revealed in

[52:03] the dark moments of

[52:07] life I want to remind you of something

[52:10] reputation is others opinions of your

[52:14] character your reputation is others

[52:18] opinions of your

[52:20] character but character speaks volumes

[52:27] your character reveals who you are Bob

[55:29] prison for those that don't know brother

[55:32] prison so that's why feels like a

[55:36] prison but the character of Our Lives

[55:41] revealed let's be a Joseph that

[55:43] recognize the Lord's with us it gets

[55:46] real easy to go from being blessed I'm

[55:49] blessed and highly favored to

[55:51] discouraged and depressed because of

[55:54] circumstances in your life but there is

[55:57] a verse that says of the Lord I

[56:03] will never leave thee nor forsake

[56:11] thee in the prison cell he was with

[56:15] Joseph in slavery he was with Joseph

[56:19] when false accusations were made he with

[56:24] Joseph now I'm praying for some of you

[56:28] that God will give you a wonderful

[56:31] Sunday and God will bless you for your

[56:35] faithfulness to

[56:37] him one of the number one things God's

[56:39] looking for in God's people is

[56:42] faithfulness just be faithful be

[56:46] faithful be

[56:50] faithful but you can't be faithful

[56:54] tomorrow if you won't do what's in front

[56:56] of you now for the glory of

[57:00] God what's in front of you right

[57:54] moment the Lord is with you

[58:05] the darkest night of the

[58:09] 21st there'll be more Darkness than

[58:11] there will be light that

[58:15] day but you know what happens on

[58:18] 22nd it changes and it starts getting

[58:22] brighter and it starts getting brighter

[58:24] and it starts getting brighter

[58:26] and it starts getting brighter and some

[58:28] of you right now you're in a place right

[58:29] now you feel like you're in your darkest

[58:31] days hang on it's going to get

[58:34] brighter so I don't know if it is here

[58:43] coming you can live in the vapor or you
