[0:00] Can you manufacture something completely in America?

[0:03] That is still the question.

[0:06] In the first video on this topic, I explained how we tried to make

[0:09] a simple barbecue grill scrubber completely in America,

[0:13] and depending on who you ask, we either succeeded or we failed miserably.

[0:17] This started off

[0:18] as an engineering challenge for me, because my parents were auto workers,

[0:22] and I wanted to make something in America because that was important to me.

[0:26] But what I learned was way bigger than that.

[0:29] I learned about systemic challenges in our capitalistic system

[1:09] has a problem, and other people are recognizing that as well.

[1:14] Today, on Smarter Every Day, we're going to dive into these issues

[1:17] and try to understand more about the importance of self-reliance

[1:20] and manufacturing in your local area.

[1:24] Let's go get smarter every day.

[1:30] This is my buddy John Youngblood.

[1:32] This product idea was his.

[1:34] My contribution was just wantin
