[1:39] we usually start on Sunday mornings if

[1:41] you would stand with me for the reading

[1:43] of God's word we're going to be looking

[1:45] at Ephesians 3 20- 21 if you can repeat

[1:49] with me uh as we go ahead and quote the

[1:52] scripture the Bible says this now unto

[1:56] him that is able to do exceeding

[1:59] abundance

[2:00] above all that we ask or think according

[2:04] to the power that worketh in us to him

[2:08] be glory in the church by Christ Jesus

[2:16] Amen let us pray father God thank you so

[2:20] much father for everything you've done

[2:22] for us through the week dear Lord we

[2:24] come in here this Sunday father this

[2:26] morning to give to worship you dear Lord

[2:34] Salvation thank you for Jesus Christ

[7:38] and for the old there is a

[7:43] remedy for every sin Soul there is a

[7:47] cure for

[7:49] all all the pain and hurt and wrong

[7:53] there is a

[7:56] solution for all the problems deep

[7:59] inside there is a remedy and his name is

[8:04] Jesus

[8:14] Christ for the bitter for the lonely for

[8:18] the weary and Afraid for the burdened

[8:23] and

[8:24] frustrated the discouraged and dismayed

[8:28] for the mocked and

[8:31] persecuted for The Battered for

[8:35] the for the wounded and

[8:38] frustrated for the weak and for the

[8:43] strong there is a

[8:47] remedy for every sin s Soul there is a

[8:51] cure for

[8:53] all all the pain and hurt and wrong

[8:57] there is a solution

[9:01] for all the problems deep inside there

[9:04] is a remedy and his name is Jesus

[9:18] tongue in every language for every time

[9:22] in every place there's an answer to the

[10:54] rich how pure the junior church can be

[10:56] dismissed on that course

[11:09] the love of God is greater far than

[11:14] tongue or pen can ever tell it goes

[11:20] beyond the highest star and reaches to

[11:26] the lowest hell

[11:29] guilty pair bow down with care God sent

[11:34] his

[11:35] son to win his airing child he

[11:42] reconciled and pardon

[11:45] from his sin oh love of God how rich and

[11:52] pure how

[12:37] less and strong Redeeming Grace to

[14:22] morning Lord thank you for today thank

[14:25] you for your son and for his sacrifice

[14:29] life and for your love and thank you for

[14:33] this time of offering Lord to give back

[14:34] to you we ask you to bless this offering

[14:37] for your honor and Glory bless the

[14:39] specials and the music and the sermon

[14:42] speak to our hearts Lord in the name of

[19:53] Bibles go to Nehemiah chapter number

[19:55] four this morning Nehemiah chapter

[19:58] number four

[20:07] begin reading in

[20:09] verse number 13 of Nehemiah

[20:14] 4 Bible says therefore set I in the

[20:17] lower places behind the wall on the

[20:19] higher places I even set the people

[20:22] after their families with their swords

[20:25] their Spears and their bows now looked

[20:29] and Rose up and said unto the Nobles and

[20:31] to the rulers to the rest of the people

[20:34] be not ye afraid of them remember the

[20:37] Lord which is great and

[20:40] terrible and fight for your brethren

[20:44] your sons and your daughters your wives

[20:49] and your houses it came to pass when our

[20:52] enemies heard that it was known unto us

[20:55] and God had brought their counsel ton

[20:57] not that we returned all of us to the

[21:00] wall everyone unto his work it came to

[21:06] pass that from that time forth that half

[21:09] of my servants rought in the work the

[21:11] other half of them held both the spears

[21:15] the Shields and the bows the harbingers

[21:19] and the rulers were behind all the house

[21:20] of

[21:21] Judah they which build it on the wall

[21:25] and they that bear the burdens with

[21:26] those that laid it everyone with one of

[21:30] his hands rot in the

[21:32] work the other hand held a weapon for

[21:37] the builders

[21:38] everyone had his sword gted by his side

[21:42] and so build it and he that sounded the

[21:45] trumpet was by me and I said unto the

[21:49] Nobles and to the rulers and to the rest

[21:51] of the people the work is great and

[21:54] large we are separated upon the wall one

[21:57] far from from another in what place

[22:01] therefore ye hear the sound of the

[22:02] trumpet Resort ye thither unto us our

[22:06] God shall fight for us so we labored in

[22:12] the work let's go to the Lord in prayer

[22:14] this morning dear heavenly father Lord I

[22:16] Thank you for the opportunity to preach

[22:18] your word this

[22:21] morning Lord I I need you

[22:25] today would I pray if you would please

[22:28] cleanse me me of

[22:29] sin Empty Me of

[22:32] myself that I might get out of the way

[22:35] this morning and your word may go

[22:38] forth Lord I pray

[22:40] today that you'd help us to see your

[22:43] word to respond as you would have us in

[22:48] your name I pray amen thank you for

[22:50] standing you may be

[22:53] seated been talking the last few weeks

[22:55] about building and battling

[22:59] and let us rise up and build and we

[23:01] talked

[23:02] last about having the trial in one

[23:06] hand and the sword in the other hand and

[23:11] every

[23:12] worker that did the work was building

[23:15] and

[23:19] battling we've talked about the

[23:22] conflicts that came we talked about the

[23:25] struggles that were there and the

[23:26] reasons to build and battle

[23:29] today I want to draw your

[23:31] attention to verse number

[23:34] 13 verse number

[23:37] 14 and we're going to make an

[23:39] application and then we're going to go

[23:42] into an area of building and

[23:46] battling verse number 13 Nehemiah says

[23:49] therefore I set the Low Places Behind

[23:52] the Walls and on the high places I even

[23:54] set the people after their families with

[23:57] their sword swords their Spears and

[24:00] their

[24:01] bows and I looked up and Rose up and

[24:04] said unto the Nobles and to the rulers

[24:06] and the rest of the people be not ye

[24:09] afraid of

[24:10] them remember the Lord which is great

[24:13] and terrible and fight for your brethren

[24:16] your sons and your daughters your wives

[24:20] and your

[24:21] houses Nehemiah challenged them in the

[24:24] building and the

[24:25] battling and he positions them in a way

[24:28] that the battle became

[24:31] personal and the building became

[24:34] personal and he challenges them to focus

[24:38] on their family their sons their

[24:41] daughters their wives their houses and

[24:44] they're to build and to battle and we

[24:47] talked about the battling for the

[24:49] Christian today is through the word of

[24:52] God In Prayer it's the weapon and the

[24:55] building is also through the word of God

[24:58] God and it's also personal

[25:01] work you can't

[25:04] build by just

[25:07] praying it's personal

[25:09] work and so today we want to focus on a

[25:12] battle and a building and a battling for

[25:16] a particular area today and that is the

[25:18] building and battling for

[25:21] Souls building and battling for

[25:26] souls and as we think of about that he

[25:29] challenged them Nehemiah challenged the

[25:31] people to remember the

[25:34] Lord if you're going to have a passion

[25:37] for Souls you got to remember what the

[25:40] Lord did in your heart and you and I

[25:43] ought to never get over the moment that

[25:45] he changed our life forever we were sin

[25:49] sick and sick with the sin of this world

[25:51] and we deserve to be in hell but God

[25:55] looked down and he said I'm sending my

[25:58] son because I love you for God so loved

[26:01] the world that he gave his only begotten

[26:04] son that whosoever believeth in him

[26:07] should not perish but have everlasting

[26:10] life and God looked at you and he looked

[26:12] at me and he said I love you and I'm

[26:16] going to die for you so that you could

[26:18] be

[26:20] saved we ought to remember

[26:23] that when you wake up every day you

[26:25] ought to remember and you ought to thank

[26:27] God that he saved

[26:30] you I love having testimony time and

[26:33] people say I thank the Lord that I'm

[26:36] saved that ought to be a regular

[26:38] occurrence in the life of every

[26:41] believer because we all deserve to be in

[26:44] hell but we want to thank God that we're

[26:47] saved so when we remember the Lord it

[26:49] becomes a remembrance of our salvation

[26:52] but it brings us to a point to think

[26:55] about souls of other people

[27:00] and Nehemiah had him on the

[27:02] wall

[27:03] building and battling for the souls in

[27:07] front of

[27:09] them so when they stood there with their

[27:11] swords and their bows their

[27:14] harbingers the people in front of them

[27:17] they cared about

[27:18] them they loved

[27:24] them and so as we think about people and

[27:28] souls

[27:29] today I want to give you four

[27:32] things in the battle for souls and

[27:36] building and battling for Souls the

[27:38] first one is found in Matthew chapter 9

[27:41] verse 37 and 38 if you have your Bibles

[27:44] turn over there Matthew 9:37 through 38

[27:58] Jesus has been

[28:01] preaching he comes to his disciples and

[28:04] he sees the

[28:05] multitude he's moved with

[28:08] compassion verse 37 he says this then

[28:11] saith he unto the disciples the Harvest

[28:15] truly is

[28:18] plenteous but the laborers are few but

[28:23] notice the sentence didn't end

[28:26] there pray ye therefore for the lord of

[28:30] the Harvest that he will send forth

[28:33] laborers into his

[28:35] Harvest step number one in building and

[28:38] battling for Souls is

[28:41] prayer prayer we ought to pray we ought

[28:46] to pray for more laborers we ought to

[28:48] pray to the Lord of the Harvest watch

[28:51] this that's the spiritual

[28:54] weapon for

[28:56] Souls is the prayer for Souls have you

[29:00] prayed for a soul

[29:04] today I hope you have have you prayed

[29:07] for Souls this week I hope you

[29:11] have the Lord told us to

[29:13] pray hey there's still people that need

[29:16] to be saved there's still a lost and

[29:18] Dying World God wants you to pray for it

[29:22] everybody ought to pray we ought to all

[29:26] be involved in the spiritual battle

[29:28] attle of praying for

[29:30] Souls every one of us now you remember

[29:33] in our text in

[29:35] Nehemiah they

[29:37] all had a sword and they built with the

[29:42] trout they all

[29:44] did how many people ought to pray for

[29:48] Souls

[29:49] everybody if you're breathing you ought

[29:52] to be praying for people to be

[29:56] saved amen everybody ought to pray for

[29:59] lost

[30:00] people aren't you glad somebody probably

[30:03] play prayed for

[30:05] you you say well I don't know about that

[30:07] preacher somebody just came to my door

[30:09] when we go out door to door knocking

[30:11] we're we're praying for the doors that

[30:12] we're going to for the people on the

[30:13] other

[30:14] side so we probably prayed for you if

[30:17] you got saved through door to door

[30:18] visitation if it was a family member

[30:20] they probably prayed for

[30:22] you everybody praying for

[30:25] Souls that's the spiritual weapon we

[30:27] have have is prayer so we're praying

[30:32] everybody ought to pray he said pray you

[30:34] therefore the lord of the Harvest

[30:35] that'll send forth laborers into his

[30:40] Harvest God is still calling

[30:43] laborers he is still calling

[30:46] laborers there is not an age restriction

[30:48] on

[30:51] laborers God's still calling

[30:55] people listen do you think it's God

[30:58] God's plan for more missionaries to come

[31:01] off the field of being a

[31:03] missionary than there are people going

[31:06] to the mission field do you think that's

[31:07] God's

[31:08] plan I don't think so he sees the

[31:11] multitudes he's still moved with

[31:13] compassion he still has a heart for

[31:15] people to be saved he's still calling

[31:18] people to

[31:20] go just people aren't

[31:24] going the the labor force that that God

[31:28] needs for the mission field is

[31:32] active they're just not getting in the

[31:35] fight they're

[31:37] available God's calling but people

[31:39] aren't

[31:40] answering so everybody ought to pray

[31:43] that's how we battle and battle because

[31:45] we're dependent upon

[31:48] God we don't save people he

[31:52] does he's the one who does the saving

[31:55] he's the one that brings people to the

[31:57] moment of salvation he's the one that

[31:58] does it God's the one who saves

[32:03] people so it it's never ever been by how

[32:08] good a person communicates the

[32:12] gospel if the Holy Spirit doesn't draw

[32:15] them and convict them doesn't matter how

[32:18] good your presentation is it's God who

[32:21] brings them to the moment of

[32:23] salvation but I think we ought to

[32:26] practice and do our best to present the

[32:29] gospel in a clear

[32:31] way so everybody ought to pray that's

[32:34] the building in battling of for Souls

[32:37] everybody ought to

[32:40] pray take your Bibles and turn over to

[32:43] Numbers chapter

[32:45] 16 Numbers chapter

[32:53] 16 The Book of Numbers

[32:58] God is dealing with the nation of Israel

[33:01] at this

[33:02] time Numbers chapter 16 and verse number

[33:06] 20 read to you what the Bible

[33:10] says and the Lord spake unto Moses and

[33:14] unto Aaron saying separate yourselves

[33:18] from among this

[33:20] congregation that I may consume them in

[33:23] a

[33:24] moment so God said to Moses and Aaron

[33:27] get out of the way I'm going to kill

[33:32] him that's the summary get out of the

[33:35] way separate yourselves from them I'm

[33:37] going to destroy them in this

[33:39] moment verse

[33:41] 22 and they fell upon their faces and

[33:46] said oh God the god of the spirits of

[33:49] All Flesh shall one man sin and wil thou

[33:52] be wroth with all the

[33:54] congregation and the Lord said unto

[33:56] Moses speaking the congregation saying

[33:58] get you up from about the Tabernacle of

[34:00] Kora Dayan andam what happens in the

[34:04] rest of the chapter is that God deals

[34:06] with the sin God deals with the

[34:08] Sinners the people as a whole most of

[34:11] them are

[34:12] spared because Moses and Aaron stood

[34:17] between the living and the

[34:20] dead on their faces they fell and they

[34:23] prayed to God that God would spare their

[34:27] their souls and God wouldn't kill them

[34:30] all every time you pray for Souls you

[34:33] are standing between the living and the

[34:36] dead when you pray for a person by name

[34:39] that God would have an opportunity for

[34:42] them to hear the gospel you are praying

[34:45] and standing between the living and the

[34:50] dead you done that this

[34:53] week you prayed for somebody by name

[34:57] that they be saved this

[34:58] week I hope you have everybody ought to

[35:02] participate in the praying for Souls

[35:05] that's the

[35:07] battling turn your Bibles to Matthew

[35:10] 28 Nehemiah said they all rought in the

[35:14] work their

[35:16] sons their

[35:18] daughters their

[35:20] Brethren their wives their houses

[35:27] everybody ought to

[35:30] pray Matthew

[35:32] 28 verse number

[35:36] 19

[35:38] go

[35:39] ye

[35:43] therefore if you feel like

[35:49] it personal

[35:51] responsibility for building God's

[35:54] kingdom is people going

[35:57] go ye

[35:59] therefore go that's a build work go ye

[36:04] therefore everybody ought to

[36:08] go now you may not get to come out at a

[36:11] set aside time with the church family to

[36:14] go

[36:14] out but you ought to

[36:17] go everybody ought to

[36:19] go everybody ought to go witness to

[36:22] somebody everybody ought to go talk to

[36:25] the to people about the Lord and how he

[36:27] saved your soul and changed your life

[36:30] everybody ought to

[36:32] go the sad part we call this is a Great

[36:35] Commission but in many Believers lives

[36:38] it's the great

[36:40] Omission it doesn't

[36:42] happen but everybody ought to

[36:46] go you're building God's kingdom by

[36:50] going you're going

[36:52] out now how do you go well you prayed

[36:54] before you went

[36:58] you

[36:58] prayed before you went you battled so

[37:03] you could

[37:04] build so you're building the kingdom

[37:06] everybody ought to

[37:09] go in the battle and building of souls

[37:11] everybody 100% participation is needed

[37:15] for

[37:17] going now you may not be able to go out

[37:19] like you used to may not be able to go

[37:22] out and up and down the streets and do

[37:24] what you used to

[37:26] do but you can talk to a

[37:29] coworker you can hand out a track you

[37:33] can go somewhere with the gospel you got

[37:36] the good news of Jesus Christ that

[37:38] everybody ought to

[37:40] go so we battle through prayer we number

[37:44] two we go it's building God's kingdom it

[37:47] won't get built unless people

[37:51] go now I know God is a miraculous God he

[37:54] can use creation to get people's

[37:56] attention he you can use other things to

[37:58] get people's attention but as you read

[38:00] the word of God the formula for what God

[38:04] wanted to do with getting the gospel to

[38:06] the lost and dying world was for people

[38:08] to deliver

[38:10] it so everybody ought to

[38:15] go notice there in verse number 19 go ye

[38:19] therefore and

[38:22] teach

[38:23] All Nations

[38:30] now who's the verse given

[38:34] to to the disciples who are the first

[38:42] church go ye therefore and teach All

[38:49] Nations who's that message given

[38:54] to us

[39:01] us everybody ought to

[39:05] teach now you may not stand In a Pulpit

[39:07] you may not stand in front of a

[39:08] classroom but your life is

[39:11] teaching everybody ought to teach and

[39:13] you ought to teach them you ought to

[39:15] instruct people you ought to come

[39:16] alongside somebody after they've been

[39:18] saved and teach them that's the building

[39:21] part teach All

[39:24] Nations baptizing them in the name of

[39:27] the father and the son and of the Holy

[39:29] Ghost everybody ought to be involved in

[39:34] teaching verse 20 teaching them to

[39:36] observe all

[40:12] person taking the gospel to another

[40:15] person the word of God changing their

[40:18] life we ought to go we ought to teach

[40:22] and we got to grow to

[40:25] repeat if we're going to teach teach

[40:27] them all things he told the disciples

[40:29] teach them all things that I've

[40:30] commanded

[40:31] you that's discipleship

[40:34] work is discipleship

[40:39] building the more exposure we have to

[40:41] the word of God and the things of God

[40:44] the better it is for our Christian Life

[40:46] we are growing in our relationship with

[40:49] God we grow to

[40:54] repeat we're praying that's the

[40:56] spiritual battle we're going that's the

[41:00] building work we're teaching that's the

[41:02] building work we're growing to repeat

[41:05] that's the building

[41:06] work both of these are done by

[41:09] individuals building and battling are

[41:12] done by

[41:14] individuals working together with the

[41:17] local church to accomplish God's

[41:19] plan for evangelization and discipleship

[41:24] of God's people

[41:31] you cannot just

[41:37] pray you

[41:38] cannot just pray you just be

[41:43] battling you wouldn't be

[41:46] building if all we do is pray for

[41:49] Souls that's wonderful and

[41:52] good but God told us to go God told us

[41:55] to teach God told us to grow so we could

[41:57] teach them

[41:59] more that's his

[42:02] formula everybody's got to be

[42:05] involved let us arise and build in the

[42:09] battle for

[42:11] Souls can I remind you about a few

[42:15] things hell is

[42:22] real we're battling and we're building

[42:27] cuz hell is

[42:29] real it's a real place with real

[42:35] fire and secondly that real people go

[42:44] there if all we do is just

[42:49] pray God send more laborers God send

[42:52] more laborers and God says I'm sending

[42:54] you

[42:59] go pray pray pray pray but if God puts

[43:04] it in your path to tell somebody do

[43:08] it Go

[43:11] teach grow so you can repeat the

[43:16] process God brought them in your path

[43:18] for a

[43:20] reason other words God put him in your

[43:22] section of the

[43:24] wall right in front of us

[43:30] why because he wants you to build he

[43:33] wants you to battle on that section of

[43:35] the

[43:36] wall your section of the wall is where

[43:38] you work at it's where you shop at it's

[43:41] where you spend your life at that's your

[43:43] section of the wall God put you

[43:47] there why did God put me there to battle

[43:50] and to build for that section of the

[43:53] wall God put you in your neighborhood to

[43:56] battle and to be for that

[43:59] neighborhood the battle for

[44:02] Souls hell is real real people go there

[44:06] salvation is available

[44:09] today it's still available he's still in

[44:12] the saving

[44:13] business he still wants people to be

[44:17] saved are you in the building and the

[44:19] battling for

[44:45] gospel could you if you needed to tell

[44:56] somebody how to be

[44:59] saved if not let us help you get there

[45:47] prayed you talked about prayer in our

[45:50] discipleship class this

[45:53] morning do you have a place

[45:57] you have a

[45:59] time do you

[46:02] pray talk about when you get in a habit

[46:04] of vain

[46:05] repetition we can get a habit of

[46:10] praying for the sake of praying instead

[46:13] of communication with

[46:16] God are you battling for souls are you

[46:22] praying there are people who mentioned

[46:25] to me or say to me preacher would you

[46:26] pray pray for so and so they're my

[46:28] family member they're not saved and we

[46:29] we ought to do that we ought to pray for

[46:32] those

[46:35] people and then if God gives you an

[46:37] opportunity you ought to talk to those

[46:40] people you got to have those

[46:43] moments got to

[46:47] pray there you

[46:51] go Nehemiah sent some outside the wall

[46:54] to repair sections of the wall and some

[46:55] were inside the wall paring sections of

[46:57] the wall but everybody was in the

[47:02] work do you

[47:05] pray you pray for

[47:08] Souls on the extended part of your

[47:12] wall talking about our

[47:15] missionaries you pray for

[47:17] them the souls that they're

[47:20] reaching

[47:21] regularly you pray hell's real still

[47:26] it's as real as it was the day you got

[47:28] saved that's still real place and real

[47:31] people go

[47:32] there we ought to be concerned pray do

[48:01] go he said I haven't gone

[48:02] once but I joined the gym thinking it

[48:05] would have great

[48:10] benefits if you don't put the effort in

[48:13] it's not going to help

[48:17] you all we're doing is praying we are

[48:20] possibly hindering what God's trying to

[48:22] do around

[48:25] us and through us to bring people to

[48:31] Jesus end of March we got a family and

[48:33] friend day coming a good day to invite

[48:36] your family and friends to

[48:38] come to church that

[48:41] day but every Sunday is a good day

[48:45] invite people to come to

[48:49] church you pray for

[48:52] people pray for the souls in front of

[48:54] you are you building for that

[48:58] are you

[48:59] teaching are you growing in your

[49:02] relationship with God so you can help

[49:05] others a guy stopped by my office this

[49:08] week was telling me about some stuff

[49:09] he's reading the Bible had some

[49:10] questions about something said hey do

[49:12] you know about this he goes what's that

[49:14] I said well take your Bible let's turn

[49:15] he him so he took him to a place in the

[49:16] Bible showed him some verses and his

[49:18] eyes lit up he said I never knew that

[49:20] that's super exciting he's bounced off

[49:22] while he's texted me three times this

[49:23] week oh I'm so excited when you showed

[49:24] me that preacher I just made my day

[49:31] hey but are are are we studying God's

[49:34] word and putting God's word in us so

[49:35] that we could help other people with

[49:37] their questions about God we're growing

[49:40] to repeat the process because God wants

[49:43] to do it God wants to save

[49:48] Souls God God's in the saving business

[49:52] and he uses people to build into battle

[49:54] there's a battle for Souls

[49:57] the God of this world ha blinded their

[50:02] eyes Christianity has been downplayed

[50:05] and the church itself has not done what

[50:07] we ought

[50:09] it therefore there are thousands if not

[50:13] millions of

[50:15] people in our neighborhoods and

[50:19] towns one songwriter said it this way in

[50:22] the shadow of our steeple souls are

[50:25] dying

[50:30] W let it not be said of

[50:34] us let us get involved in the building

[50:36] and the battling for Souls let us go let

[50:40] us teach let us grow to repeat and let

[50:48] participate in the building and battling

[50:53] stand together with your heads bowed and
