[0:00] in this video i'm going to show you how

[0:02] to

[0:03] outline a book summary now

[0:06] this is the fourth step we've done

[0:08] several previous steps to

[0:11] read the book to highlight it to export

[0:13] those highlights to progressively

[0:14] summarize

[0:15] those exports it's been actually quite a

[0:18] bit of work

[0:18] but this is where it all begins to pay

[0:20] off because what we want to do is by the

[0:23] time we sit down to write

[0:24] we want all of the thinking or most of

[0:27] the thinking to have already been done

[0:28] at that point

[0:30] when people sit down to try to do the

[0:31] thinking and the writing at the same

[0:33] time

[0:33] it's extremely difficult okay so that's

[0:36] where the outline comes in the outline

[0:37] is basically a plan

[0:39] it's a plan for when you sit down to

[0:41] actually do the writing and the next

[0:42] step

[0:43] the whole logic the whole sequence of

[0:45] arguments and supporting points is done

[0:47] this is such a powerful way of writing

[0:50] to have all the the sequence and all the

[0:52] supporting material right there right at

[0:54] hand

[0:55] so you don't have to interrupt the flow

[0:56] of writing to go search something

[0:58] on google or research something or read

[1:00] a book it's all right there in front of

[1:02] you

[1:03] so let's take a look at what it looks

[1:05] like to

[1:06] create an outline for a book summary

[1:10] so here we are back inside evernote

[1:12] which is the notes app that i use

[1:14] uh looking at the progressively

[1:17] summarized notes that we

[1:18] looked at in the previous step so one

[1:21] thing i want to observe is it's now been

[1:23] i think

[1:23] four or five days since i've seen this

[1:25] it was last week that i left off

[1:28] and not only is that okay that some time

[1:30] has
