[2:17] hosts praise ye him sun and moon praise

[2:22] him all ye stars of light Praise Him ye

[2:26] heavens of heavens and ye Waters that be

[2:30] above the heavens let them praise the

[2:34] name of the Lord for he commanded and

[2:37] they were created woo amen amen we need

[2:42] to Just Praise a God in our hearts you

[2:45] know uh when you read something like

[2:47] that you have to get excited if you

[2:49] didn't get excited you got to get on

[30:12] Paul dealing with the church at Corinth

[30:13] here and he's been dealing with some

[30:15] problems in the church and sometimes we

[30:17] can get upset about the church at

[30:19] Corinth and said man they're a messed up

[30:21] church but it helps

[30:24] us so all all the things that Paul's

[30:27] dealing with here in Corinth and now

[30:29] he's dealing with some doctrinal issue

[30:31] that they're dealing with the struggle

[30:32] of the Resurrection so we're going to

[30:34] talk about that this morning but let's

[30:36] go to the Lord in prayer and we'll dive

[30:37] into it today dear heavenly father Lord

[30:39] I Thank you for the opportunity to

[30:40] preach your word this morning Lord I'm

[30:42] thankful for each and every person

[30:44] that's in the room today Lord if there's

[30:46] someone here today that does not know

[30:47] you as Savior Lord today would you open

[30:51] their eyes that they may see you and

[30:53] accept you as their savior today Lord

[30:56] we're thankful for every person in the

[30:57] room room today for being here they

[30:59] didn't have to come but they chose to

[31:01] come Lord I'm thankful they did Lord I

[31:04] pray you'd help me as I preach your word

[31:05] today that you'd cleanse me of sin and

[31:08] you'd Empty Me of myself that I might

[31:10] get out of the way this morning and your

[31:11] word may go forth Lord I pray that you'd

[31:14] speak to our hearts today challenge us

[31:15] from your word we need you today in your

[31:18] name I pray amen thank you for standing

[31:22] seated Paul dealing with the church at

[31:25] Corinth we'll talk about it more in in

[31:28] the afternoon service they they they

[31:30] were struggling with the

[31:31] resurrection that they were going to

[31:33] people were going to be resurrected and

[31:35] go to heaven afterward we'll talk about

[31:36] in the afternoon service in that

[31:38] Resurrection as well but this morning

[31:41] we're going to talk about the

[31:43] gospel so Paul he he admonishes the

[31:46] Church of Corinth he says to the

[31:47] Brethren Brethren I declare unto you the

[31:50] gospel the good news which I preached

[31:52] unto you which also ye have received and

[31:55] wherein you stand so Paul he starts off

[31:57] by telling him about the gospel that he

[31:59] preached and he preached the gospel and

[32:01] he defines a great definition for the

[32:04] gospel here in 1 Corinthians 15 he

[32:07] defines it for us and we'll look at it

[32:08] here in just a moment so Paul challenges

[32:11] him says what I've preached to you and

[32:14] what you have received the ultimate goal

[32:16] of the Gospel is not just to be preached

[32:19] but is to be received aren't you

[32:22] thankful you received the gospel that

[32:24] you got saved that you have a home so

[32:27] when do we sing the song I've Got a

[32:28] Mansion over the hilltop you have an

[32:32] address you know one one one person used

[32:35] to say this way I got a ticket to

[32:38] paradise and then he said I got a

[32:40] feeling I might be leaving soon won't

[32:43] that be nice he said I got my bags all

[32:46] packed and I'm ready to go can hardly

[32:48] wait to leave this world of sorrow and

[32:52] woe it's encouraging got a ticket to

[32:55] heaven so Paul says this the go gospel

[32:58] that I preach to you which you also

[33:01] received and wherein ye stand by the

[33:05] which also ye are saved so it's what he

[33:09] preached to them and it's what they

[33:12] professed they professed to be

[33:14] Christians they profess to be saved

[33:16] because they believe the gospel so Paul

[33:19] then takes them on a journey to define

[33:22] the gospel let's look at verse three for

[33:25] I delivered unto you first of all that

[33:28] which I also received how that Christ

[33:31] died for our sins according to the

[33:36] scriptures Jesus

[33:39] died you know that that part of the

[33:43] Gospel is

[33:44] important he didn't just pass out he

[33:48] didn't just Swoon and knock out for a

[33:51] little bit no he died he was 100% dead

[33:56] Jesus died di for you and for me he

[34:01] became sin for us he died he was 100%

[34:07] dead over the next couple weeks we're

[34:09] going to be talking about the

[34:10] crucifixion looking forward to

[34:12] Resurrection

[34:14] day but Jesus died the Bible tells us

[34:18] that Christ died for our sins according

[34:20] to the what

[34:23] scriptures he died for our sins

[34:25] according to the scriptures so he

[34:29] there's some scripture that talks about

[34:30] him

[34:31] dying there was some prophecy

[34:34] fulfilled when he

[34:37] died Jesus died but he just didn't die

[34:41] of old age he didn't die uh from a

[34:45] disease he died for our

[34:49] sins Romans 5'8 says but God commendeth

[34:52] his love toward us and that while we

[34:54] were yet sinners Christ died for

[34:58] us he died for sinners now look to the

[35:02] person beside you and say you're a

[35:04] sinner I am too there you go now not

[35:09] everyone participated all

[35:11] right so like I'm not saying that to my

[35:13] wife preacher I'd like to live through

[35:15] the

[35:16] afternoon but we are everybody's a

[35:19] sinner for all have sinned and come

[35:22] short of the glory of God so we're all

[35:25] Sinners Jesus died for s sin but he knew

[35:29] no sin but he became sin for us so that

[35:33] face you saw in the mirror this morning

[35:36] that sinner face don't you hate your

[35:39] flesh don't you hate your

[35:42] sin don't you hate your

[35:45] sin you should I hate sin I hate my own

[35:50] sin worse than anybody else's sin

[35:53] because it's

[35:55] mine you know sometimes you

[35:58] at a preacher years ago his name his

[36:01] first name was MV which is a really

[36:03] interesting name his last name was mcir

[36:06] MV McNair when MV was a bus Captain uh

[36:10] he went to visit someone and sat down

[36:14] and creepy

[36:16] crawlies

[36:17] cockroaches came running across the

[36:21] room running up the

[36:24] walls he was sitting there talking one

[36:26] of them ran across his arm

[36:29] they say you know what you can't do say

[36:31] you can't kill cockroaches in somebody

[36:33] else's

[36:35] house but you can kill them in your

[36:39] house what you think about

[36:42] that somebody else's house you got to

[36:44] let it

[36:45] go but in your house you can clean up

[36:50] first John 19 says if we confess our sin

[36:52] he's faithful and just to forgive us our

[36:54] sins and to cleanse us from all

[36:56] unrighteousness sin is with wied sin is

[36:58] evil we need to get rid of the

[37:01] sin so Christ died for our sins so he's

[37:06] proving to them Christ's death so the

[37:10] first thing he does is he took him to

[37:11] the

[37:12] Cross he takes them Paul Journeys to

[37:14] them to the cross and he shows them the

[37:16] cross of Jesus Christ and the Cross of

[37:19] Christ was for you and for me for every

[37:22] man woman BN God so loved the whole

[37:24] world that he died for the sin of the

[37:26] whole world

[37:31] notice what he does next I deliver unto

[37:34] you first of all how that Christ which

[37:36] also how Christ died for our sins

[37:37] according to the scriptures and that he

[37:46] it there there used to be a teaching out

[37:47] there that he passed out he didn't

[37:50] really

[37:55] you're going to believe that then you

[37:56] got to get the soldier who pierced his

[38:33] you've got to believe that somehow with

[38:34] all that energy had left he got out of

[38:37] the Grave clothes all by himself rolled

[38:39] away the Big Stone and snuck out without

[38:42] anybody seeing

[38:45] it that's that's a big

[38:48] story but you know what the truth is

[38:51] Jesus died and he was

[38:54] buried

[38:56] now if in

[38:59] 1815 make sure I got my date right 8

[39:02] 1815 there's a man that Europe was

[39:05] dealing with named Napoleon anybody ever

[39:08] heard of him before Napoleon and the

[39:11] Battle of waterl happened on a Sunday

[39:14] morning and across the English Channel

[39:17] England watched and waited for some word

[39:21] about the

[39:23] outcome of that battle so Napoleon's

[39:27] battle because all all the balance of

[39:28] Europe hung in what happened at the

[39:31] Battle of

[39:32] waterl and so there was a time where the

[39:37] semore that's the people who waved the

[39:40] flags did the

[39:41] messages the semaphor began to flash the

[39:45] tidings to the eager Watchers that were

[39:48] on the British Shore in

[39:50] 1815 they're flashing the flags and

[39:53] giving the signal waving it back and it

[39:57] was a very foggy day that morning and

[40:00] the first message that arrived was only

[40:03] partially received it read

[40:14] mourn because they thought Napoleon had

[40:17] won and that trouble was

[40:21] coming but then the message was repeated

[40:24] as the fog began to clear the message

[40:32] everybody

[40:33] rejoiced because Napoleon had been

[40:37] defeated well if we only have that Jesus

[40:41] died and that he was

[40:44] buried we'd be defeated

[40:46] Christians but there's more to the

[40:49] message he didn't just die and he wasn't

[40:51] just buried the Bible says that he rose

[40:55] again the third day

[40:57] according to the scriptures so he took

[41:00] him to the cross and then he took him to

[41:03] the

[41:05] cemetery so he takes him to the cross

[41:07] and he takes him to the cemetery and

[41:09] then thirdly notice verse number four

[41:12] that he was buried and that he rose

[41:14] again the third day according to the

[41:18] scripture so he takes him to the

[41:20] calendar three

[41:22] days by the way the prophecy was Jesus

[41:25] said himself as Jonas was three days and

[41:27] three nights in the belly of the well so

[41:29] shall the son of man be in the heart of

[41:30] the earth he took him to the calendar

[41:32] three days so Paul takes him to the

[41:35] Cross he takes him to the cemetery he

[41:37] takes him to the calendar to show that

[41:39] Jesus is alive but notice the

[41:42] punctuation in your Bible after that he

[41:45] was buried that he rose again the third

[41:46] day according to the scriptures not a

[41:49] period the thought

[41:52] continues he's alive now and he was seen

[41:58] that he was seen of

[42:00] sephus so Jesus resurrects and he's seen

[42:03] by his

[42:04] friends the first one he appears to here

[42:06] that's recorded for us is sephus now we

[42:09] know in the gospel accounts he appeared

[42:13] points out is sephus who is Peter the

[42:16] guy that denied

[42:36] failed him he he still has a message for

[42:45] 12 so he's seen by the one who denied

[42:48] he's seen by the disciples he's seen by

[43:21] above 500 Brethren at once so now he's

[43:26] not only seen by by his friends he's

[43:28] seen by his flock the Brethren those

[44:51] Jerusalem ends up writing the Book of

[44:53] James under the inspiration of God he

[44:56] appeared to his own family so watch this

[44:58] he appeared to his friends he appeared

[45:01] to his family with the good news of he's

[45:24] followers we know that he appeared to

[45:32] followers began to see Jesus is

[45:35] Alive now we we could go take it to an

[45:38] account where there's two walking down

[45:40] the road to a ma and their heart is

[45:42] discouraged and then they recognize

[45:43] Jesus is Alive and their hearts stirred

[45:46] up by the way our hearts ought to be

[45:48] stirred up Jesus is Alive we don't have

[45:50] a dead God he's a living God he's

[45:55] alive not only that he appears to

[45:57] someone else look at verse number

[45:59] eight last of

[46:01] all he was seen of me

[46:05] also as one born out of due

[46:10] time for I am the least of the

[46:14] Apostles that I'm not meat to be called

[46:17] an apostle because I persecuted the

[46:22] Church of

[46:25] God so he's seen by his friends he's

[46:28] seen by the flock he's seen by his

[46:30] family's seen by the followers he's seen

[46:32] by his foe as when Saul saw him on the

[46:35] road to Damascus he hadn't believed on

[46:37] him

[46:38] yet but Jesus showed up on the road he

[46:41] interrupted his

[46:44] day Saul Cries Out Lord he said I am

[46:48] Jesus whom thou

[46:51] persecutest I am Jesus he recognizes his

[46:55] need

[46:57] follow

[46:59] Jesus so he's seen by the Foe and Paul

[47:03] talks about how he persecuted the church

[47:06] how he put to death Christians how he

[47:09] persecuted people but yet Jesus still

[47:13] forgave

[47:14] him of his sin Jesus still saved him

[47:19] Jesus still had a plan for his

[47:23] life so if Jesus can save a a

[47:28] murderer persecutor of

[47:31] people a person whose mission is to

[47:35] destroy

[47:38] Christianity if he could save him he can

[47:42] save

[47:45] anybody Jesus can save anybody he

[47:48] defeated

[47:50] death he defeated the

[47:52] grave and he's alive today

[47:57] in the gospel the good news is Jesus

[48:00] died he was buried that he rose again

[48:01] the third day according to the

[48:03] scriptures for your sin and my

[48:06] sin to redeem us from the sins of the

[48:11] world so he looks at

[48:14] you and he

[48:16] knows all that you've ever

[48:20] done he knows every sin you've ever

[48:25] committed we don't like talking about

[48:29] our

[48:30] sin but he knows all about

[48:32] it he knows all about your sin he knows

[48:36] all about your struggles he knows all

[48:39] about your

[48:40] addictions he knows all your habits he

[48:44] knows all of the things of your

[48:47] past everybody's got a

[48:50] past everybody

[48:54] does everybody has a future

[48:58] beyond

[49:00] Earth I'm not talking about traveling to

[49:02] Mars and colonizing

[49:06] Mars but everybody's got a future beyond

[49:09] Earth it's in

[49:12] eternity 10 out of 10 people die unless

[49:18] something happens the book of Hebrews

[49:20] tells us it's a pointed unto man once to

[49:22] die and after that the

[49:24] Judgment as somebody text me yesterday

[49:27] they were asking about a date that they

[49:29] were wanting to do something with their

[49:30] Sunday school class they said hey how's

[49:32] this date available and I was looking on

[49:33] the

[49:34] calendar as I was thinking about

[49:37] it we all have a

[49:40] date on our calendar of life with

[49:45] death however it might get

[49:48] interrupted if Jesus's Rapture of the

[49:51] church comes

[49:53] first I'm not looking for the Undertaker

[49:55] I'm looking for the upper Aker i' like

[49:58] to be caught up together with him in the

[49:59] clouds to meet the Lord in the

[50:02] air but if he chooses not to come back

[50:06] yet and I have to face death death is

[50:10] just the doorway into

[50:12] eternity it is not the

[50:15] end it's the doorway into

[50:18] eternity 10 out of 10 people will die

[50:22] unless interrupted by The

[50:24] Rapture of a saved person

[50:28] but 10 out of 10 people have an eternal

[50:32] soul that will be

[50:36] somewhere and it's your choice of where

[50:39] that somewhere

[50:41] is it's your choice you can choose to

[50:45] accept Christ as he died for your sin he

[50:47] was buried and he rose again the third

[50:49] day according to the scriptures you can

[50:51] believe on him to save your soul and

[50:55] have an eternity in heaven

[50:57] or you can say

[51:01] no you can say no for the offer of

[51:06] Salvation there is a

[51:09] consequence now

[51:11] listen God doesn't send people to Hell

[51:14] people choose to go

[51:16] there by rejecting the offer of

[51:19] Salvation he died for all

[51:22] men for them all to be saved here he

[51:26] died for every person in this room if

[51:29] you're breathing Jesus died for

[51:31] you and he loves

[51:34] you and he died on the cross he was

[51:36] buried he rose again the third day and

[51:38] he offers you the opportunity to be

[51:43] saved now the Bible tells us it's

[51:45] appointed unto man want to die and after

[51:47] that the Judgment the Bible also tells

[51:49] us take no thought for tomorrow because

[51:52] we know not what a day may bring

[51:59] sometimes we say well I'm planning to do

[52:01] this this

[52:02] week we might want to change it to Lord

[52:05] will and I'm hoping to do this this week

[52:08] I don't know what tomorrow is going to

[52:10] bring but I know this that if my life

[52:14] ended today I know I'd be in heaven with

[52:17] God not because I'm a good person not

[52:20] because I've been baptized not because

[52:22] I've done good works only because Jesus

[52:24] Christ died for my sins he was buried

[52:27] and that he rose again and I believed on

[52:29] him to be

[52:31] saved that's how I get to go to heaven

[52:34] that's how you get to go to

[52:35] heaven so how about it

[52:38] today the gospel is good

[52:40] news if you believe

[52:43] it the gospel's convicting news if you

[52:47] reject

[52:50] it so

[52:52] today where's your eternity going to be

[52:57] where's your eternity going to

[53:09] secondly where has your joy gone

[53:12] Christian Jesus is alive he's alive he's

[53:25] at times but Jesus is Alive

[53:29] over there's a football game years

[53:34] ago one team was winning another team

[53:37] was losing that's typical how football

[53:42] go was getting to the very end of the

[53:46] game everybody began to

[53:50] celebrate so much excitement because

[53:52] their team was winning the last few

[53:54] seconds that the band came on the the

[53:57] field they were celebrating our Victory

[54:00] our Victory there's still time on the

[54:01] clock cuz it wasn't over

[54:03] yet when all of a sudden the football

[54:06] player on the other team ran the

[54:09] football all the way

[54:10] back knocked over a couple band players

[54:13] on the way and scored the winning

[54:17] touchdown because it's not

[54:21] over it wasn't over yet and today

[54:26] you're still breathing it's not over yet

[54:29] if you're not saved you got a chance to

[54:31] be saved today if you are saved you got

[54:34] a chance to live in a Victorious

[54:36] Christian life cuz Jesus is alive he's

[54:39] not dead and he's coming back again and

[54:42] it could be

[54:44] today Jesus is

[54:47] Alive let's not be like those on the

[54:50] British Shore and only get part of the

[54:53] message Jesus died he was buried there's

[54:58] another one but he rose again the third

[55:02] day according to the

[55:04] scriptures he's

[55:07] alive and he sits at the right hand of

[55:10] God making intercession for

[55:13] us Jesus is

[55:16] Alive do you know him as your savior

[55:24] today if you were to die today

[55:26] Day do you know that you'd wake up in

[55:31] heaven do you know that Thursday night

[55:34] at our Nursing Home Service one of the

[55:37] residents who usually attends was not

[55:42] there family came in and told us he's

[55:46] not doing

[55:48] well he's not doing

[55:50] good the nurses and everyone had put him

[55:53] in a special private room and the family

[55:55] was coming to pay his their last

[56:01] respects as we were talking to some of

[56:03] the

[56:04] family there's an encouraging

[56:07] thing

[56:09] because he knows the Lord as his

[56:14] savior see when you know Jesus as your

[56:17] savior death is the doorway to

[56:20] heaven so

[56:23] he's and we believe it probably has

[56:25] happened we have not received word yet

[56:27] but that he's probably home in heaven

[56:30] now the way it was looking Thursday

[56:33] night he's probably home in heaven now

[56:36] no more

[56:37] wheelchair no more

[56:39] pain no more

[56:42] hurting at home with

[56:46] Jesus that could be your Eternal story

[56:51] that you left this Earth and you were

[56:53] forever with the Lord

[56:57] your

[56:59] choice two times seven word phrases were

[57:04] used and talked about the Lord and

[57:08] Eternity one was at the great white

[57:11] Throne judgment depart from me I never

[57:14] knew

[57:16] you seven words you never want to hear

[57:18] God say to you depart from me I never

[57:22] knew

[57:23] you I don't want to hear that I hope you

[57:26] don't want to hear that from

[57:27] God there's another

[57:31] phrase that happens before that says

[57:35] many will say unto me in that day Lord

[57:37] Lord have we not prophesied in thy name

[57:40] and in thy name done many wonderful

[57:44] works and he will say depart from me I

[57:49] never knew

[57:51] you John 14:6 Jesus said I am the way

[57:56] the truth and the life no man cometh

[57:59] unto the father but by

[58:03] me there's only one way to heaven and is

[58:07] through Jesus Christ it's not through

[58:09] baptism Waters it's not through being a

[58:12] good person you're not elected to go

[58:14] there that only certain people are

[58:16] chosen and certain people are not nope

[58:17] he died for the whole world he died for

[58:21] everyone he want he came to seek and to

[58:24] save that which was lost and and all

[58:26] people be lost we died for all people so

[58:29] how about it today do you know that

[58:33] you're on your way to

[58:34] heaven if not I have good news here in
