[0:01] good morning in Bible Baptist Church

[0:03] family we're so glad that you're tuning

[0:05] in this morning and it's an exciting

[0:08] Wednesday morning and especially during

[0:10] this week as we stopped to consider

[0:12] Christ this week and his week of leading

[0:17] up to his death and I want to share with

[0:19] you some verses this morning out of

[0:21] Hebrews chapter number 12 the Bible says

[0:23] wherefore seeing we are also come first

[0:25] about with so great a cloud of witnesses

[0:27] let us lay aside every weight and the

[0:30] sin which does so easily beset us and

[0:32] let us run with patience the race that

[0:35] is set before us looking unto Jesus the

[0:38] author and the finisher of our faith who

[0:41] for the joy that was set before him

[0:43] endured the cross despising the shame

[0:46] and has sat down at the right hand of

[0:49] the throne of God for consider him that

[0:51] endured such contradiction of sinners

[0:54] against himself lest he be wearied and

[0:57] faint in your minds this morning as I

[1:01] was thinking about how to be an

[1:04] encouragement I was overwhelmed with the

[1:09] thinking about Jesus Christ day today

[1:13] years ago you know as we look at it as

[1:16] this week of being from Palm Sunday to

[1:19] Resurrection Sunday and we were to take

[1:22] ourselves back in time to that time

[1:24] frame I mean it's not physically this

[1:27] day but remembering it as you were

[1:30] that's time we would find out that on

[1:32] Wednesday he would be beaten to be

[1:36] crucified and he would die today don't

[1:42] you think about that for a moment today

[1:45] he will he would have faced the beating

[1:50] the mocking the scourging the nails and

[1:56] his hands and in his feet for your sin

[2:00] and my sin today I mean think about that

[2:04] he endured all of that for you but in

[2:10] Hebrews it tells us

[2:12] for the joy that was set before him he

[2:16] endured the cross how could it be join

[2:20] us how could it be joyous that he would

[2:24] be beaten with the cat-o'-nine-tails

[2:26] have a crown of thorns placed upon his

[2:28] head how could it be joyous for him to

[2:32] endure such things my friend the only

[2:35] waiting can be joyous for him because he

[2:37] knew what his death would bring it would

[2:41] bring and enable the reconciliation of

[2:44] man back to God

[2:46] it would make a way for mankind to have

[2:50] their sins forgiven oh my friend today

[2:54] it tells us to think about him to

[2:57] consider him in verse 3 just think about

[3:00] him today consider him consider what he

[3:03] did for you when we think about him it

[3:09] kind of helps us not to worry about our

[3:11] day today doesn't it in light of the

[3:14] cross our struggles we're facing right

[3:17] now are really not that large Jesus

[3:22] Christ he today if we were in that

[3:25] timeframe would endure a period of time

[3:29] where the father and the son were not in

[3:36] fellowship with one another when God

[3:40] turned his back on his only begotten son

[3:43] for my sin and your sin chapter 12 verse

[3:50] 3 for consider him that endured such

[3:53] contradiction of sinners against himself

[3:55] lest you be wearied and faint in your

[3:59] mind as we consider Christ today I pray

[4:02] you'll take some time today just to

[4:06] reflect on what he did for you and what

[4:10] he endured for you and for me and then

[4:16] as we do that remind yourself that not

[4:21] only did he die but he resurrected the

[4:26] third day a man and now he sits at the

[4:29] right hand of God

[4:31] where he maketh intercession for you I

[4:36] could put it to you this way today as a

[4:41] child of God your heavenly Father heard

[4:48] your name from his right hand as Jesus

[4:53] spoke to him and made intercession for

[4:57] you prayed for you today spoke to the

[5:01] father on your behalf today I don't know

[5:04] what you're facing this morning I don't

[5:07] know what you have endured this week but

[5:10] in light of the cross it's not that bad

[5:13] in light of the cross

[5:16] it really doesn't compare but consider

[5:20] him today and as you consider him may

[5:23] you and I be encouraged to do more for

[5:26] him tonight's our evenings Wednesday

[5:30] night service and we want you to watch

[5:33] the live stream and I we want you to

[5:34] participate in the service and looking

[5:38] forward tonight to preaching all the

[5:40] cross trying to get our minds focused in

[5:44] on considering him even more tonight but

[5:48] let me encourage you about one last

[5:50] thing when he was on the cross you my

[5:56] friend were on his mind today consider

[6:01] him you said I was hoping for a word of

[6:05] encouragement it is encouragement my

[6:06] friend because if you were the only one

[6:09] he still would have died for you let's

[6:12] pray today dear Heavenly Father I'm so

[6:15] thankful for your son and his sacrifice

[6:18] for my sin Lord I pray today you'd help

[6:22] us all to consider you help us to keep

[6:27] our heart focused on you today for there

[6:34] are some that are facing difficult

[6:36] situations

[6:37] Lord you

[6:39] I already know the Sun already mentioned

[6:43] it to you today what they're facing but

[6:47] I'm very thankful for that what I pray

[6:49] that will encourage us today in your

[6:52] name I pray amen thank you for tuning in

[6:55] to the word of encouragement we'll see

[6:58] you next time
