[0:03] now let's check on tropical storm Andrew
[0:05] and see what the latest position is as
[0:07] of 5:00 we have 13.4 north latitude and
[0:10] the longitude 45.3 West Winds are 45
[0:13] milph that's Andrew right there swirling
[0:16] about in the middle of the Atlantic
[0:18] condition of its movement right now out
[0:19] of the west or moving toward the west
[0:21] Northwest at 23 milph and as it does so
[0:23] it's still 1,50 Mi away from the Leading
[0:26] Edge of the Lesser antill so not a whole
[0:28] lot of danger to anybody right now but
[0:30] it does show some signs of strengthening
[0:32] and overnight we'll watch

[0:48] the most vulnerable areas in our homes
[0:51] if you don't have hurricane shutters you
[0:53] can use plywood but it should be at
[0:55] least a/2 in thick you can also use

[1:00] decorative awings and shutters should be
[1:02] taken down taping windows with masking
[1:05] or duct tape will not make them stronger
[1:08] but it can help keep broken glass from
[1:10] flying loose in the wind duct tape is
[1:12] easier to remove if you have glass that
[1:15] is covered with a reflective film or if
[1:17] it's tempered safety glass there's no
[1:19] need to worry about tape it's already as
[1:22] safe as possible for unprotected glass
[1:25] it's a good idea to close drapes or
[1:27] blinds this will also help stop Flying
[1:30] glass outside bring in all items that
[1:32] are movable in Hurricane force winds
[1:35] everything from patio furniture to
[1:37] potted plants to garbage cans and even
[1:40] fruit on trees can become dangerous
