[0:41] >> Well, after the long holiday weekend,

[0:43] America went back to work today and so

[0:45] did Bill Clinton. Back to work on saving

[0:47] his presidency. A new poll shows his

[0:50] popularity plunging. So, the president

[0:52] reportedly has decided to give up on a

[0:54] controversial nomination. and he's

[0:56] preparing to name a moderate to the

[0:58] Supreme Court, one with Republican

[1:00] support. And he traveled today to a

[1:02] stronghold of bluecollar and Catholic

[1:04] voters.

[1:06] A new CBS News poll out tonight finds

[1:09] President Clinton's support slipping

[1:10] away, his approval rating plunging to

[1:13] 37%, a record low for a new president.

[1:16] And on fixing the economy, the issue

[1:18] that got him elected, only one out of

[1:20] three Americans thinks Mr. Clinton is

[1:22] doing a good job. Too much taxes. That's

[1:25] another thing. Tax, tax, tax, tax.

[1:29] >> I haven't seen a whole lot of change

[1:31] yet.

[1:32] >> So, where does the president go from

[1:34] here? First to Milwaukee to sell his

[1:36] economic program, describing it as

[1:38] balanced and fair.
