[0:00] Too little, too late.
[0:03] >> Meeting with senators, Bush said he has
[0:05] been working the phones today,
[0:07] coordinating with other allied leaders a
[0:09] new plan. A plan to escort Kurdish
[0:11] refugees from the mountains along Iraq's
[0:14] northern border back into Iraq, where
[0:16] the land is flatter and more hospitable
[0:19] as long as Saddam Hussein does not
[0:21] interfere. I have directed the US
[0:23] military to begin immediately to
[0:25] establish several encampments in
[0:27] northern Iraq where relief supplies for
[0:30] these refugees will be made available in
[0:33] large quantities and distributed in an

[0:38] I can well appreciate that many Kurds

[1:04] I'll tell you what's the most important
[1:05] thing, however, and that is to get
[1:07] Saddam Hussein out of there. So, if you
[1:09] came to me as a broker and you said, "I
[1:12] can get him out of there, but uh he'd
[1:15] have to be able to live a happy life
[1:18] forever more in some third country uh
[1:21] with all kinds of conditions never to go
[1:23] back and and uh brutalize his people
[1:26] again." I might be I I'd have to think
[1:29] about it, but I might be willing to say,
[1:31] "Well, as far as our pressing charges,
[1:33] we'd we'd be willing to get him out."
[1:36] And back on the
