[0:54] revelation chapter 14 verse number six

[0:56] the bible says and i saw

[0:58] another angel fly in the midst of heaven

[1:01] having the everlasting gospel to preach

[1:04] unto them that dwell on the earth

[1:06] and to every nation and kindred and

[1:08] tongue and people

[1:10] saying with a loud voice fear god and

[1:13] give glory to him

[1:14] for the hour of his judgment is come and

[1:17] worship him

[1:18] that made heaven and earth and the sea

[1:21] and the fountains of the waters

[1:24] as we look at our text we find this is

[1:26] the vision that john is having now the

[1:28] first part of the chapter

[1:30] as we mentioned last week we dealt with

[1:32] the lamb standing on mount zion

[1:34] with 144 000 and talking about that

[1:37] being a future reference we use the

[1:40] uh descriptive term last week that

[1:42] chapter 14 is like a table of contents

[1:45] for the following sections and there's

[1:48] chronological sequences are

[1:50] taking place in chapter 15 and 16 that

[1:53] we

[1:54] talk about the end of chapter 14 that

[1:56] are differently

[1:57] in time so here in chapter 14

[2:00] we find in verse 6 john sees another

[2:03] angel

[2:04] angel the word literally means messenger

[2:07] and so in fact if you were with us in

[2:10] chapters

[2:10] 2 and chapter 3 the angel of the church

[2:14] to the seven churches that word angel

[2:17] also means messenger now

[2:19] those messages there are not currently

[2:22] in the revelation reveal maybe we'll go

[2:24] back and do that

[2:25] but we preached a sunday night series

[2:27] through the seven churches

[2:28] and so maybe we'll try to go back and

[2:30] link those into the revelation revealed

[2:32] series so you can see them

[2:34] but we find here that this angel appears

[2:37] and he's

[2:38] flying in the midst of heaven now the

[2:40] heaven here

[2:41] references the second heaven we talk

[2:45] about in scripture three heavens

[2:47] first second and third heaven first

[2:50] heaven being the firmament

[2:51] the blue sky that we see the second

[2:55] being the outside of the firmament outer

[2:57] space area

[2:59] and then the third heaven being the

[3:00] heaven that is god's abode

[3:03] so this messenger is in the second

[3:06] heaven

[3:06] he's flying around and his message is

[3:09] penetrating into the first heaven and

[3:10] you're hearing it

[3:11] on earth so during this time there's

[3:13] going to be an angel

[3:15] that flies around so nearing the end of

[3:17] the tribulation period

[3:19] there's this angel who comes and he is

[3:22] proclaiming

[3:23] the everlasting gospel

[3:27] so he's preaching the gospel now

[3:30] that's unusual

[3:34] god's ministry of getting the gospel to

[3:37] the world

[3:38] had been since his time on earth

[3:42] through the propagation of the gospel

[3:43] through the church we call it the great

[3:45] commission

[3:46] in matthew 28 and mark chapter 16 the

[3:49] great commission

[3:49] given so that people can hear the gospel

[3:53] and so we find here though we'll know

[3:55] this is an interesting thing to help

[3:57] those that

[3:58] believe in a post-tribulational rapture

[4:02] there would be no need for the angel to

[4:04] declare the gospel if the church was

[4:06] still on earth

[4:08] but the church has been raptured out and

[4:10] the bible teaches and we hear

[4:12] bible baptist church believe the bible

[4:14] in a

[4:15] pre-tribulational rapture so before the

[4:19] tribulation begins

[4:21] now an interesting thing to remember is

[4:24] just because

[4:25] we believe in a pre-tribulation does not

[4:28] mean the church won't see

[4:30] tribulation against it there'll be days

[4:32] that it could be hard against and

[4:34] sometimes it seems like we're getting

[4:36] really close to that taking place

[4:38] here in the united states of america but

[4:40] just because the bible teaches

[4:42] pre-tribulational rapture doesn't mean

[4:44] the church isn't going to go through

[4:45] hard days

[4:47] so the pre-tribulational rapture takes

[4:49] place the church is

[4:50] taken out now god's formula for the 70th

[4:54] week of daniel the

[4:55] seven year tribulation period there's

[4:58] three gospel

[5:00] outputs that are mentioned one is one we

[5:03] talked about last week

[5:04] the 144 000 witnesses the jewish

[5:08] evangelists that are

[5:09] sent out to preach the gospel the second

[5:13] output of the gospel is the two

[5:14] witnesses we'll talk more about them at

[5:16] another time

[5:17] but the two witnesses in their ministry

[5:20] here upon the earth

[5:21] the third output of the gospel is this

[5:25] messenger angel here in revelation

[5:28] chapter 14.

[5:29] now it's interesting in galatians

[5:32] chapter 1 verse 8 the bible says but

[5:34] though we

[5:35] or an angel from heaven preach any other

[5:38] gospel

[5:39] unto you than that which we have

[5:41] preached unto you

[5:43] let him be accursed and so this verse

[5:46] here is talking about

[5:47] those that are preaching another gospel

[5:50] so the apostle paul said even

[5:52] we or another angel now we know that

[5:54] there were demonic forces

[5:56] and angel demons are fallen angels

[6:00] that fell from heaven with lucifer and

[6:03] so

[6:04] there are demonic forces who are

[6:05] preaching another gospel

[6:08] now if you were with us last week during

[6:11] revival services here at bible baptist

[6:13] church or i'd encourage you to go back

[6:18] go back and check the videos out for our

[6:20] revival service week

[6:21] and you'll find it centered around the

[6:23] gospel it was a revival of the gospel

[6:26] and

[6:26] we learned this important truth there is

[6:28] one gospel

[6:30] and the gospel can be defined in first

[6:33] corinthians

[6:34] for us in chapter 15 and 26

[6:38] words for i delivered unto you the first

[6:41] of all that which i also received how

[6:44] that

[6:45] how many in words corinthians 26

[6:49] read it out loud okay let's read christ

[6:52] died

[6:52] for our sins according to the scriptures

[6:55] and that he was buried and that he rose

[6:59] again the third day according

[7:03] that christ died for our sins according

[7:05] to the scriptures that he was buried

[7:07] and that he rose again the third day

[7:09] according to the scriptures that's the

[7:11] summation of the gospel

[7:13] the gospel the good news has always been

[7:16] about

[7:17] jesus christ and him coming to this

[7:20] earth

[7:21] and being the savior of all mankind

[7:24] so the everlasting gospel is the same

[7:27] gospel now there are those who defer say

[7:28] oh no

[7:29] this is not talking about salvation it's

[7:32] talking about

[7:33] what's happening in verse seven i do not

[7:36] believe that god would

[7:38] ever change the gospel message

[7:42] in order to operate differently

[7:44] dispensation we know that in the

[7:47] old testament time period in the

[7:48] dispensations of law and

[7:50] man human government and all of those

[7:52] and under the law period

[7:54] all of those dispensations has always

[7:57] been salvation by grace through faith

[8:00] it has always been that they were

[8:01] looking forward to the messiah

[8:03] in the age of grace we looked back to

[8:06] jesus

[8:06] and so on this the front side of the

[8:09] cross

[8:10] it was looking forward to the messiah on

[8:12] this side of the cross it's looking back

[8:15] to the savior of the world jesus christ

[8:17] and i'm excited here in a few weeks

[8:19] we're going to celebrate

[8:20] resurrection sunday and kind of

[8:22] emphasize that a little bit more that

[8:23] day but

[8:24] really every sunday's resurrection

[8:26] sunday because that's why we meet on

[8:28] sunday

[8:29] because he's alive and we get to

[8:30] celebrate that and i better get back to

[8:33] chapter

[8:34] 14 or else i'm going to go into

[8:35] preaching mode but there's this

[8:38] messenger the angel the mission he's

[8:40] empowered to preach that everlasting

[8:42] gospel on earth

[8:43] this is the only instance in which an

[8:45] angel had the ability to preach the

[8:47] gospel though

[8:48] in scriptures in acts chapter 10 verses

[8:50] three through six the bible says this

[8:53] he saw a vision talking about a a man

[8:56] here named cornelius who saw

[8:59] a vision about the ninth hour of the day

[9:02] an angel of god coming into him saying

[9:04] to him cornelius

[9:06] and when he looked on him he was afraid

[9:08] and said what is it lord

[9:09] and he said unto him thy prayers the

[9:11] nine alms are come up for a memorial

[9:13] before god

[9:14] and now send men to joppa and call for

[9:17] one simon whose surname is peter

[9:20] he lodgeth with one simon attainer whose

[9:22] house is by the seaside

[9:24] he shall tell thee what thou ought it is

[9:27] to do and so the request is given to

[9:30] cornelius an angel appeared

[9:31] the angel could have preached the gospel

[9:33] but instead

[9:35] he said go get peter and peter's going

[9:36] to tell you what to do and so

[9:38] this one instance in revelation 14 is

[9:41] the only instance i found in scripture

[9:43] recorded that an angel preaches the

[9:46] gospel

[9:47] here in chapter 14 verse number six

[9:51] but we find also as we mentioned in

[9:53] galatians 1

[9:54] 8 the verse about though we are an angel

[9:56] from heaven

[9:57] preach any other so the gospel's the

[10:00] same

[10:01] there's not a change to the gospel but i

[10:03] want you to notice who he's preaching to

[10:05] he says unto them that dwell on the

[10:07] earth and to every nation

[10:09] and kindred and tongue and people

[10:13] no one is left out isn't that amazing

[10:17] during the tribulation period when the

[10:19] beast of the antichrist the false

[10:21] prophet

[10:22] and satan is working at their best to

[10:25] deceive

[10:26] mankind god's still sending out gospel

[10:29] witness

[10:30] god's still preaching the gospel in

[10:32] other words i could say it to you this

[10:34] way there will be

[10:35] no excuse during the tribulation period

[10:38] for anyone to say i never heard the

[10:40] gospel the gospel will

[10:42] be preached during the tribulation

[10:45] period

[10:46] now the bible also teaches that those

[10:48] that have rejected jesus christ

[10:51] before the rapture of the church that

[10:53] they will be without excuse

[10:55] they will not have opportunity to be

[10:57] saved

[10:58] but those that are living here that had

[11:00] not heard up into this time

[11:02] will hear every kindred

[11:05] every nation every tongue and every

[11:08] people

[11:09] will hear from this angel the messenger

[11:12] of the gospel

[11:14] now that's a pretty powerful thing when

[11:16] you think about it

[11:17] every person will hear the gospel during

[11:20] the tribulation

[11:21] time but here's the emphasis saying with

[11:23] a loud voice so he's

[11:25] preaching the gospel but he's also

[11:27] giving emphasis to some areas

[11:30] it says to fear god and to give glory to

[11:33] him

[11:34] for the hour of judgment has come he's

[11:37] revealing to them

[11:38] yes you need to accept jesus christ as

[11:41] your

[11:42] god and as your savior you need to give

[11:44] glory to him

[11:45] for the hour of judgment is coming time

[11:47] is short

[11:48] there is the judgment of god that's

[11:50] coming the battle of armageddon is

[11:52] getting ready to place god's wrath is

[11:54] being poured out upon the earth

[11:56] there's a few moments left to be saved

[11:59] this gospel message is coming out

[12:02] but the parts here that he's emphasizing

[12:06] to them is

[12:07] to give glory to god now remember the

[12:09] antichrist

[12:10] give glory to me praise me the

[12:13] antichrist is saying serve me

[12:16] worship me or you be doomed be put to

[12:19] death

[12:20] jesus christ is saying worship me

[12:23] come to me or you're gonna be eternally

[12:25] damned in a lake of fire

[12:27] and so there's these deferring messages

[12:29] that are happening here

[12:31] and i think what is happening is that

[12:32] the angel is giving the message of the

[12:35] gospel

[12:36] but he's emphasizing and he's making it

[12:39] relatable to what exactly they're facing

[12:42] at that time

[12:44] also it says and worship him that made

[12:46] heaven

[12:47] and earth and the sea and the fountains

[12:49] of waters

[12:50] perhaps this is important because people

[12:53] have accepted

[12:54] evolution rather than creations account

[12:57] of god

[12:58] if these people are those who worship

[13:00] the

[13:01] creature more than create as romans 1 25

[13:03] tells us

[13:04] who changed the truth of god into a lie

[13:07] and worshipped and served the creature

[13:10] more than the creator who is blessed

[13:12] forever amen

[13:14] mankind during this time is going to buy

[13:16] into the lie they're buying into it now

[13:19] hook line and sinker

[13:20] that evolution that there's no creator

[13:24] that there's

[13:25] no purpose now i don't know about you

[13:26] but it's kind of depressing

[13:28] if you believe in evolution that you're

[13:30] a cosmic

[13:31] accident that some cosmic gases collided

[13:34] and made a

[13:35] cosmic belch that brought the world into

[13:37] existence

[13:39] and that you're an accident that's kind

[13:41] of discouraging

[13:43] that you have no purpose that you're

[13:46] born and then you die

[13:47] and there's nothing after that that's

[13:49] kind of discouraging

[13:50] unless you believe the creation account

[13:53] that the hand of god in the word of god

[13:55] that there was a creator

[13:56] involved in the process and that he

[13:58] fearfully and wonderfully made us in our

[14:01] mother's womb and that life was brought

[14:04] to you and i when we were in our

[14:06] mother's womb and by the way that's

[14:08] where life

[14:08] starts is at conception that's where

[14:11] life starts god created

[14:14] babies to be born he gave them a heart

[14:16] he gave them life he gave them breath

[14:19] in their mother's room that's a real

[14:21] person in there

[14:22] but you know this world that we live in

[14:24] they've shifted from that

[14:26] they said it's just a bag of molecules

[14:29] and a bunch of different cells they

[14:31] don't

[14:31] recognize it as human life and they've

[14:34] depreciated that

[14:36] and they worship the creation more than

[14:38] the creator they're more concerned about

[14:40] the dying tree

[14:42] or the animal that's dying out and not

[14:44] about

[14:45] life and human life and taking care of

[14:48] people

[14:49] and so the sadness is that the creature

[14:52] has been worshipped more than the

[14:53] creator and so the message given here

[14:57] is the grace of god the salvation of god

[15:00] to give him glory but also worship him

[15:02] because he made heaven

[15:03] and earth and the sea and the fountains

[15:06] of waters

[15:07] and at that time when this message is

[15:09] being delivered it's in the tribulation

[15:11] period

[15:12] guess what's happened water's turned to

[15:13] blood the grass has been scorched

[15:16] the trees have been burned there's a lot

[15:18] of terrible stuff happening upon the

[15:20] earth

[15:21] to the creation now i look forward and

[15:24] it's just a thought for you to think

[15:25] about

[15:26] is that after the period of the

[15:28] tribulation period

[15:30] when the earth has been scorched and

[15:33] problems have come across it

[15:34] the under the plagues that god has

[15:37] poured out the

[15:38] seven vol bold judgments the seven

[15:41] trumpet judgments and

[15:43] all of the judgments that have taken

[15:44] place there

[15:46] there's a period of time during the

[15:47] millennial kingdom when all that's

[15:48] restored

[15:50] and god's blessings come back and all

[15:52] those things happen because of the god's

[15:55] wonderful grace and his manifestation of

[15:58] power

[15:58] over creation and so satan which is

[16:02] designed

[16:02] his plan is to get men's eyes off of god

[16:06] satan is the author of the evolution

[16:09] theory now charles darwin pinned the

[16:12] words down on paper

[16:14] but satan was in the process because

[16:16] evolution helps get your eyes off of god

[16:19] and gets them somewhere else and that's

[16:22] always been satan's plan to distract

[16:25] and detour people from the message of

[16:29] god

[16:29] and the grace of god and the gospel of

[16:32] god

[16:33] so the challenge here the angel

[16:36] preaching is to get your eyes back on

[16:38] your creator

[16:39] and that's none other than jesus christ

[16:41] we know in john 1 1

[16:42] in the beginning was the word and the

[16:44] word was with god and the word was

[16:46] god verse 2 the same was in the

[16:48] beginning with god

[16:50] and all things were made by him

[16:53] in john 1 14 it says then the word

[16:55] became flesh and dwelt among us

[16:57] and we beheld his glory as the only

[16:59] begotten of the father full of grace and

[17:01] truth course

[17:02] john 1 14 reveals us jesus christ is god

[17:05] and he was in the beginning and he was

[17:07] involved in creation code we could

[17:08] simply say

[17:09] jesus christ is the creator of the world

[17:13] he's the author of salvation he's the

[17:15] mediator between god and man

[17:17] what a wonderful thought that you and i

[17:21] can think about today that god's formula

[17:25] for salvation is always available

[17:30] even in hearing the earth's darkest days

[17:32] during the tribulation period

[17:35] god's still in the business of sharing

[17:38] the gospel with people

[17:39] so that they can have hope and they can

[17:41] be saved
