[0:53] number 20.

[0:54] it's hard to believe but we're in part

[0:56] two of revelation chapter 11.

[0:58] so if you have your bibles turn there to

[1:00] revelation chapter number 11

[1:03] we're going to begin reading in verse

[1:04] number 3

[1:06] and we're going to read down through

[1:07] verse number 14.

[1:09] the bible says and i will give power

[1:11] unto my two witnesses

[1:13] and they shall prophesy a thousand two

[1:16] hundred

[1:17] and three score days clothed in

[1:19] sackcloth

[1:21] these are the two olive trees and the

[1:22] two candlesticks standing before

[1:25] the god of the earth and if any man will

[1:28] hurt them

[1:29] fire proceedeth out of their mouth and

[1:31] devoureth their enemies

[1:33] if any man will hurt them he must in

[1:35] this manner be killed

[1:37] these have power to shut heaven that it

[1:40] rain not in the days of their prophecy

[1:42] and have power over waters to turn them

[1:45] to blood

[1:46] and to smite the earth with all plagues

[1:49] and as often as they will

[1:51] and when they shall have finished their

[1:53] testimony

[1:54] the beasts that ascended out of the

[1:55] bottomless pit

[1:57] shall make war against them and shall

[1:59] overcome them

[2:01] and kill them and their dead bodies

[2:03] shall lie in the street of the great

[2:06] city

[2:06] which spiritually is called sodom and

[2:09] egypt

[2:10] where also our lord was crucified

[2:14] and they of the people and kindreds and

[2:17] tongues and nations

[2:18] shall see their dead bodies three days

[2:22] and a half and shall not suffer their

[2:24] dead bodies to be put in graves

[2:26] and they that dwell upon the earth shall

[2:28] rejoice over them

[2:30] and make merry and shall send gifts to

[2:32] one another

[2:33] because these two prophets tormented

[2:36] them

[2:36] that dwell on the earth and after the

[2:40] three days and a half

[2:41] the spirit of life from god entered into

[2:44] them

[2:45] and they stood upon their feet and great

[2:47] fear fell upon them which saw him

[2:50] they heard a great voice from heaven

[2:52] saying unto them come up hither

[2:54] and they ascended up into heaven in a

[2:56] cloud and their enemies beheld them

[2:59] and the same hour was there a great

[3:01] earthquake and the tenth part of the

[3:03] city fell

[3:04] and in the earthquake were slain of the

[3:06] men

[3:07] seven thousand and the remnant were

[3:10] affrighted and gave glory to the god of

[3:13] heaven

[3:13] the second woe was past and behold

[3:17] the third woe cometh quickly

[3:20] now as we're reading today there's a lot

[3:22] of information

[3:24] packed into these verses we want to go

[3:27] back if we would

[3:28] to verse number three and we talk about

[3:31] these two witnesses now their power

[3:34] comes from the lord the lord gives them

[3:37] power

[3:37] and it says they're going to prophesy a

[3:39] thousand two hundred

[3:41] and three score days so three and a half

[3:44] years now there is

[3:48] great people on both sides of

[3:51] when these three and a half years take

[3:53] place

[3:54] there are those that believe it's in the

[3:56] first three and a half years of the

[3:58] tribulation period

[4:00] is the ministry of the two witnesses

[4:02] there are others who believe it's in the

[4:04] three and a half years

[4:06] after the second part the three and a

[4:09] half years

[4:09] after the midpoint of the tribulation

[4:11] period and so

[4:13] both views are believed upon by many

[4:16] people

[4:17] and uh today we're gonna just look at

[4:19] some things that

[4:21] will help us realize this important

[4:24] truth and this is it

[4:26] that there are two witnesses they do

[4:28] minister for three and a half years

[4:30] and their ministry fulfills everything

[4:33] that's listed

[4:34] here in revelation chapter 11.

[4:37] and so god has given these witnesses to

[4:41] the power to prophesy in his name

[4:45] we mentioned last week out of zechariah

[4:48] chapter four that these are two olive

[4:49] trees and two candlesticks

[4:51] standing before the god of the earth and

[4:53] we talked about that if you need to

[4:55] go back and watch revelation 19 week 19

[4:58] part 1 of chapter 11 and we detail

[5:02] that verse there in much more detail

[5:06] and then he gives him something else and

[5:08] we mentioned this last week

[5:09] as well and out of malachi chapter 4

[5:13] verses 5 and 6 the bible said behold i

[5:15] will send you elijah the prophet

[5:17] before the coming of the great and

[5:19] dreadful day of the lord

[5:21] and he shall turn the heart of the

[5:22] fathers to the children

[5:24] and the heart of the children to their

[5:26] fathers lest i come and smite the earth

[5:28] with a curse

[5:30] we talked about the fulfillment of that

[5:32] in john the baptist when he came and

[5:34] prophesied about the future messiah but

[5:36] this also detailing

[5:38] for us that one of the two witnesses

[5:42] could very well be

[5:43] elijah i do believe it to be so that

[5:46] elijah

[5:46] is one of the two witnesses based upon

[5:48] these verses here

[5:50] but also some interesting things from

[5:52] chapter 11.

[5:54] it says if any man will hurt them fire

[5:57] proceedeth

[5:58] out of their mouth now when you think

[6:00] about elijah

[6:01] one of the highlights that you and i

[6:03] would probably think about is

[6:05] elijah on mount carmel when he prayed

[6:08] fire down from heaven and so

[6:11] fire being prayed down from heaven

[6:14] to consume a sacrifice there's a another

[6:17] man in scripture

[6:19] that has a lot of details involving fire

[6:22] in his ministry as well his name is

[6:25] moses

[6:26] and moses as you know he was responsible

[6:30] for leading the nation of israel

[6:32] out of egyptian bondage and he was

[6:34] guided by

[6:35] a pillar of fire by day

[6:38] but he received his calling from the

[6:41] burning

[6:42] bush that was on fire but was not

[6:44] consumed

[6:45] there are other instances of fire being

[6:48] a part of the ministry

[6:49] of moses when fire and hail fell down

[6:53] upon egypt as one of the plagues so

[6:55] there's a lot of interesting

[6:57] similarities in both of those men's

[6:59] ministry dealing with fire so the fire

[7:02] proceeds out of their mouth and

[7:03] devoureth their enemies if any man hurt

[7:06] them

[7:06] he in this manner must be killed so

[7:08] they've got power

[7:10] to prove use fire that

[7:13] you know i think of it's a silly

[7:16] illustration but i think of the

[7:18] old super nintendo game mario brothers

[7:22] and mario would shoot little fireballs

[7:25] out of his mouth

[7:26] and would defeat the enemies so i don't

[7:28] know if it's going to be little

[7:30] fireballs but fire proceeds out of their

[7:32] mouth and devoureth their enemies

[7:35] it also says these have the power to

[7:37] shut heaven

[7:38] that it reigned in the days of their

[7:40] prophecy both elijah

[7:42] and moses had similar situations we know

[7:45] in the book of first kings elijah

[7:48] prays and it doesn't reign for a period

[7:51] of time and so again

[7:52] here is an instance of a man having a

[7:56] ministry here upon the earth with

[7:58] fire and with praying for no rain

[8:01] also have power over waters to turn them

[8:04] into blood

[8:05] and to smite the earth with all plagues

[8:07] as often as they will again

[8:09] a reference to moses so you may be

[8:12] saying well pastor adam are you saying

[8:14] that moses and elijah are the two

[8:16] witnesses i'm not saying that

[8:18] i'm saying though there are really good

[8:20] possibilities that those two men could

[8:23] be

[8:24] also when you think about moses you

[8:26] associate him with the law

[8:28] and when you think about elijah many

[8:30] times we associate him with

[8:32] prophets so the law and the

[8:35] prophets and so god could be using those

[8:38] two men

[8:39] and their roles that they played in

[8:41] their ministry here upon the earth

[8:43] to remind the nation of israel to come

[8:46] back to their messiah to

[8:48] worship jesus christ as their messiah

[8:51] because as we mentioned last week

[8:53] revelation 11 is primarily

[8:56] jewish in its audience and their desire

[8:59] to

[8:59] influence them so he continues on they

[9:02] have the plagues as often as they will

[9:04] we think about moses and egypt

[9:06] and when they shall have finished their

[9:08] testimony so god's got a specific plan

[9:11] for these two witnesses and they have a

[9:14] specific

[9:15] ministry that he's laid out for them and

[9:17] when that task is complete

[9:20] because any other man cannot hurt them

[9:23] but at this time god allows

[9:26] the beast that ascended out of the

[9:28] bottomless pit

[9:29] shall make war against them and shall

[9:31] overcome them

[9:32] and kill them in revelation chapter 13

[9:36] we're going to see this beast and who he

[9:38] is as he ascends

[9:40] out of the bottomless pit and so we know

[9:43] that these witnesses have the power of

[9:45] god

[9:46] they're accompanied by the power of god

[9:49] to do signs

[9:50] because as you remember during the time

[9:52] of the nation of israel

[9:54] in the bible they sought for a sign

[9:58] to confirm to them the presence and

[10:00] power of god

[10:02] and so these men are here the beast

[10:05] fights against them makes war and kills

[10:07] them

[10:08] and their bodies they're dead now notice

[10:10] it doesn't just say that they passed out

[10:12] their bodies are dead their dead bodies

[10:15] shall lie in the street of the great

[10:16] city which spiritually is called

[10:19] sodom and egypt where also our lord was

[10:22] crucified now

[10:24] some have said well oh sodom and egypt

[10:26] that's confusing what says spiritually

[10:29] so the spiritual condition of the city

[10:32] is likened to sodom and

[10:34] egypt in fact there was a study done a

[10:36] while back where tel aviv

[10:38] claims there in israel tel aviv claims

[10:40] to be the most

[10:41] homosexual friendly town

[10:44] in all the world and they're proud of

[10:46] that fact

[10:47] dealing with sodom there and egypt

[10:50] dealing with the sensuality of the flesh

[10:52] and the world

[10:53] and so but to clear it all up it's not

[10:56] egypt it's not sodom

[10:58] the lord said where also our lord was

[11:01] crucified

[11:02] now you can ask any child who's attended

[11:04] sunday school and they could tell you

[11:06] jesus was crucified on

[11:08] mount calvary just outside of the city

[11:11] of jerusalem

[11:12] and so we know their reference here is

[11:14] jerusalem and during the time of the

[11:16] tribulation period

[11:18] everything is going to be centered

[11:20] around israel

[11:21] the beginning of chapter 11 we talk

[11:23] about measuring the temple the temple

[11:26] is there we know at the end of the

[11:28] tribulation period jesus christ is going

[11:30] to return

[11:31] and set foot upon the earth and he's

[11:33] going to rule and reign

[11:35] from jerusalem so everything involving

[11:39] this prophecy is centered around the

[11:41] nation of israel and

[11:43] the city of jerusalem it says also that

[11:46] they of the people and kindreds and

[11:48] tongues and nations shall

[11:50] see their dead bodies three days and a

[11:52] half

[11:53] and shall not suffer their dead bodies

[11:55] to be put in the graves now

[11:56] many years ago decades ago people would

[11:58] be saying

[11:59] how could that happen there's no way

[12:02] that everybody could see it but now

[12:04] we live stream our church services on

[12:06] sunday and on wednesday nights and so

[12:10] instantaneously it's out there for all

[12:12] the world to see

[12:13] they live stream everywhere you have

[12:15] cell phones that are everywhere

[12:17] and so the video sharing software is so

[12:20] widespread now so it's easy to see how

[12:24] it could be

[12:25] seen that everyone sees their dead

[12:27] bodies

[12:28] and sees them lying in the streets it

[12:31] also says that they that dwell upon the

[12:33] earth shall rejoice over them

[12:35] and make merry thou shall send gifts to

[12:38] one another and the reason why

[12:40] is because these two prophets tormented

[12:42] them that dwelt on the earth

[12:44] so the plagues that are happening are

[12:45] not happening just in jerusalem

[12:48] but are happening all over the earth and

[12:50] so during the ministry of the two

[12:52] witnesses

[12:53] all the earth is affected by their

[12:56] witness and by their prophecy

[12:59] it continues on that after three days

[13:02] and a half so three and a half days

[13:03] they're gonna lay in the street

[13:05] they're gonna broadcast they're gonna

[13:06] live stream it people are gonna be able

[13:08] to see it they're gonna send gifts

[13:10] they're gonna rejoice

[13:11] and then after three and a half days the

[13:14] spirit of the life of god is gonna enter

[13:16] into them

[13:17] and they're gonna stand upon their feet

[13:19] and it says then great fear will fall on

[13:20] them which saw them so all of a sudden

[13:22] these dead bodies are going to literally

[13:23] just sit up and stand up

[13:26] and all the those that are watching the

[13:28] live stream

[13:29] or whatever we may be happening they're

[13:31] going to have great fear fall upon them

[13:34] and then there's going to be a voice

[13:35] from heaven the voice of god which says

[13:37] to them

[13:38] come up hither and they ascend up into

[13:41] heaven a cloud and their enemies behold

[13:43] them

[13:43] so they're going to watch as they ascend

[13:45] up into heaven can you imagine

[13:47] painting the camera up to watch as they

[13:49] go into the clouds

[13:51] and then it says at that same hour

[13:53] there's going to be a great earthquake

[13:55] and a tenth part of the city fell that's

[13:57] in jerusalem

[13:58] and in the earthquake we're slain of men

[14:01] seven thousand men are slain

[14:03] the remnant were frighted and gave glory

[14:06] to the god

[14:06] of heaven the second woe was passed and

[14:09] behold the third world cometh quickly

[14:11] so the accounts here in revelation 11

[14:14] now as i mentioned some believe that

[14:16] it's the first three and a half years

[14:18] some say it's the second three and a

[14:19] half years this is what i'm going to say

[14:21] to you

[14:22] it happens during the tribulation period

[14:25] and it is

[14:25] definite that god uses these witnesses

[14:29] and they have power from god

[14:31] and their ministry is specific the beast

[14:34] kills them and then they're resurrected

[14:37] so this

[14:37] ministry that they have is amazing and

[14:41] it

[14:41] brings about the fulfillment

[14:44] of letting people know that jesus christ

[14:47] is the messiah

[14:49] and at the end of the tribulation period

[14:51] they will all bow down

[14:53] and worship jesus as their messiah and

[14:56] so this

[14:57] section of scripture here says they gave

[14:59] glory to the god of heaven

[15:01] you'll notice that it doesn't say they

[15:02] gave glory to jesus they didn't give

[15:05] glory to jehovah they gave glory to the

[15:07] god of heaven

[15:08] it doesn't necessarily mean here that

[15:10] all of these people are saved

[15:12] it means that they gave glory to god now

[15:15] it could be their version of god but

[15:18] they gave glory

[15:19] to god and notice there's no repentance

[15:22] involved there's no

[15:23] desire of salvation is just giving glory

[15:26] to god

[15:27] that what

[15:30] and that's the interesting part we don't

[15:32] know for certain what they're giving

[15:34] glory to god about

[15:35] unless that they weren't killed in the

[15:38] earthquake but the rest of revelation

[15:41] chapter 11 the verses we've looked at

[15:43] today

[15:44] shows us the ministry of the two

[15:45] witnesses

[15:47] and how awesome their ministry will be

[15:51] now again like i said earlier it could

[15:53] be moses and elijah

[15:55] it could be elijah and someone else i

[15:58] personally

[15:58] believe this is my personal belief that

[16:01] it is

[16:02] moses and elijah and i the reason i

[16:05] believe that is from the

[16:06] things i mentioned in the scripture

[16:08] versus today that we mentioned

[16:10] but that's my personal belief but i am

[16:12] not going to say

[16:13] it is definitely that because the bible

[16:16] doesn't say

[16:17] it is definitely that you'll notice john

[16:19] doesn't see them

[16:21] he just sees and he's told of them and

[16:24] so

[16:25] i i believe the best thing to say is

[16:27] that it could be

[16:28] and probably maybe moses and elijah

[16:31] based upon the verses of scripture here

[16:34] but i do know god's got a plan and he's

[16:36] got two witnesses prepared to testify

[16:39] during this time

[16:40] in revelation chapter 11. now whether

[16:43] it's the first half or the second half

[16:45] we'll we'll have to find out later on

[16:48] and see

[16:49] what happens there but we do know it

[16:51] will happen it is definitely

[16:53] going to happen one of the things i want

[16:56] to

[16:56] remind you or kind of bring to your

[16:59] attention

[17:00] have you ever read a book and as you're

[17:02] reading a book

[17:03] there's a series of events laid out and

[17:06] then the next chapter

[17:09] you see another set of the same events

[17:12] but from a different perspective maybe

[17:14] from someone else's

[17:15] angle or someone else's side in the book

[17:18] of revelation there are

[17:20] times where god uses

[17:23] different points of view to paint the

[17:26] pictures so

[17:27] as i've mentioned before not every

[17:29] chapter is chronologically in a set

[17:32] order there are chapters that we call

[17:35] them the parenthetical chapters there's

[17:37] parentheses around them

[17:39] they're from a different angle giving us

[17:42] things that may be happening

[17:43] at the same time and in the same

[17:47] time of events as a previous chapter or

[17:49] previous chapters farther back

[17:51] and so the chapters we're looking at now

[17:54] in chapter 11

[17:55] chapter 12 chapter 13 as we get into

[17:57] them as well

[17:58] are also parenthetical chapters now i

[18:02] want to remind you of one last thing

[18:04] today in the filming of this video
