[0:01] New York polls close. It's too close to
[0:03] call. This is a Super Tuesday update.
[0:05] Dan Rather at CBS News election
[0:07] headquarters in New York. The Bush
[0:09] McCain New York street fight is tighter
[0:11] than a New York minute. The race in the
[0:13] Empire State is too close to call now at
[0:15] poll closing time. Small consolation for
[0:18] McCain. He takes Rhode Island. On the
[0:20] Democratic side, Al Gore wins New York
[0:22] Empire building in the Empire State,
[0:24] shutting out Bradley in every state
[0:26] called so far tonight. Rhode Island not
[0:29] yet called for Gore or Bradley. Too
[0:30] close to call there. Now the big
[0:32] picture, a red sea for Bush on the map
[0:34] and in the allimportant delegate count.
[0:36] Bush is way up on the cane. As for the
[0:38] Democrats, a deep blue sea for Gore on
[0:41] the map. And in delegates, Gore is
[0:43] almost halfway to the nomination.
[0:45] Headlines of the hour. Bush McCain too
[0:48] close to call in New York. The polls are
[0:50] still open in California. Gore takes New
[0:53] York and every other state over Bradley
[0:55] so far. Now, we'll have an updated Super
[0:58] Tuesday result board on 60 Minutes 2
[1:01] after a powerful story about the first
[1:03] grade shooting in Michigan. 60 Minutes 2
[1:06] is coming up next for most of you. And
[1:08] for those of you in the West, there'll
[1:10] be more news in a moment. McCain doing
[1:14] well in the Northeast, not doing well at
[1:17] all anywhere else this evening. Dan
[1:19] Rather at CBS News Campaign 2000
[1:21] headquarters in New York. See you again
[1:23] soon on 60 Minutes 2.
[1:36] voters took a big step today toward
[1:38] choosing the next president of the
