[0:02] And now here's Tucker Carlson and the
[0:05] situation.
[0:06] Thanks, Joe. We have Hurricane Rita, the
[0:08] enormous and growing Hurricane Rita
[0:10] covered from every possible angle
[0:11] tonight. Both live reports from the Gulf
[0:13] Coast and we'll talk to a stormchaser
[0:15] who just came back from flying into the
[0:17] center of that storm. But we start with
[0:19] a harrowing scene at Los Angeles
[0:20] International Airport tonight. JetBlue
[0:22] flight 292 had trouble with its front
[0:24] landing gear shortly after taking off
[0:26] for New York from Burbank's Bob Hope
[0:28] airport. The Airbus 320, which was
[0:30] carrying 146 passengers and crew,
[0:33] circled LA for 3 hours to burn off fuel
[0:36] before making its approach. As millions
[0:38] of Americans sat glued to their sets,
[0:40] saying silent prayers, the pilot made a
[0:42] perfect landing at LAX, dragging the
[0:45] flaming front gear you see here as the
[0:47] plane skidded to a stop. No one was hurt
[0:49] in that incident. We have a passenger
[0:51] who was on the plane. Uh NBC Universal
[0:53] employee Mike Machelli joins us now by
[0:55] phone. Mike, you there?
[0:56] >> Yes, I'm here. Well, I I think people
[0:58] who are watching this and and saying
[0:59] prayers for you, the millions of people
[1:00] who are watching this unfold, couldn't
[1:02] help but wonder what you thought since
[1:04] you were on JetBlue and you could see
[1:05] this on your on your television. I mean,
[1:07] that just sounds so surreal. Did you
[1:09] watch the coverage of it as it was
[1:10] happening to you?
[1:11] >> Yeah, we were we were on we watched uh I
[1:13] was watching MSNBC. It was most of most
[1:15] the people around me. Uh it was kind of
[1:18] in uh it was surreal. T
