[0:00] Are you being ripped off at the gas
[0:01] pump? Friday at 6:30.
[0:06] High drama as President Clinton tries to
[0:08] get his budget through the Senate. A
[0:10] killer tornado devastating a historic
[0:12] Virginia town. And Star Billing, the
[0:14] not-so-secret diary of alleged Hollywood
[0:16] madam.
[0:19] This is NBC Nightly News with Tom
[0:21] Brokaw. Sitting in tonight, Mike Snyder.
[0:25] >> And a good evening to you. It may be
[0:26] something of an overstatement to say the
[0:28] Clinton presidency hangs in the balance,
[0:30] but the White House certainly is acting

[0:59] easy. He kept Clinton waiting all day.
[1:01] >> Will you tell us what you're planning to
[1:03] do, Senator?
[1:04] >> No.
[1:04] >> That was the same answer Kerrey gave
[1:06] Bill Clinton when they met this morning.
[1:08] Kerrey refused to commit despite
[1:10] Clinton's pleas for an hour and a half
[1:11] in the White House residence. In which
[1:13] room did they meet?
[1:14] >> I I don't know what room.
[1:16] >> [laughter]
[1:17] >> And they met in Senator Kerrey's room.
[1:21] >> They would have given him the Lincoln
