[0:00] Colonel, your name. Can you spell your

[0:03] name for us, please? K L I N E,

[0:17] tell us tell us what happened last

[0:19] night.

[0:21] Well, the uh we got the execute order uh

[0:24] late yesterday afternoon and we uh went

[0:27] through our mission planning and uh

[0:30] tried to get what sleep we could and

[0:32] then uh got up uh early this morning,

[0:34] went and executed uh our mission.

[0:37] >> And can you what what can you tell us

[0:39] something about what you did? Did you uh

[0:42] fly into Iraq? Did you escort a a a

[0:46] strike force? What did you do last

[0:48] night?

[0:49] We uh we flew into Iraq and uh we did

[0:52] escort. We uh escorted multinational

[0:56] force and uh had the ability uh to go in

[1:01] there. I can't get into numbers of

[1:02] different type of aircraft for what

[1:04] targets were, anything like that, but uh

[1:07] we uh went in with a group of guys and

[1:10] uh we got everybody out and that was the

[1:12] most important thing to us. So, our

[1:14] entire package got in and out and uh we

[1:16] felt pretty happy about that.

[1:19] >> Now, did you encounter any resistance?

[1:22] >> We encountered a few airplanes coming

[1:26] up. Nothing that really came close

[1:28] enough to us to uh deliver ordinance or

[1:30] anything. They were mainly coming up and

[1:32] going north. So, uh they they didn't

[1:36] come through to the south for us. Colon,

[1:39] what

[1:40] >> verifying this morning? Uh, that's some

[1:42] brand new Department of Defense tape

[1:44] that uh has just been released of a

[1:46] pilot that was involved in the attack in

[1:48] Iraq. Verifies what we've been hearing

[1:50] all night long that the resistance to

[1:52] the American attack has been uh minimal

[1:55] at uh at best. Bob Simon mentio
