[0:13] You are watching CBS News continuing

[0:15] coverage of Showdown in the Gulf. From

[0:18] CBS News headquarters in New York, here

[0:20] is Dan Rather.

[0:23] >> New complications in the war, new

[0:25] developments unfolding. Let's go to Tel

[0:27] Aviv and Tom Fenton to get the latest on

[0:29] the Iraqi Stud missile attack against

[0:32] Israel. Tom,

[0:33] >> Dan, I've got two new reports as the

[0:36] bureau people here continue to work the

[0:37] telephones. One is that at the Tel Bar

[0:39] junction, that's a major road junction

[0:42] about 5 miles north of Tel Aviv, very

[0:44] close to where I used to live

[0:45] incidentally. Uh the area is wrote Gulf

[0:47] on the suspicion that nerve gas was used

[0:50] there that the uh once again just the

[0:52] suspicion that there's nerve gas in the

[0:54] warhead. a second report that it had

[0:56] tikba. That's an area not far from here,

[0:58] a Yemenite to the south, a Yemenite uh

[1:01] picturesque neighborhood. We have an

[1:03] eyewitness report from there of

[1:05] buildings burning, buildings destroyed,

[1:06] and people running in panic and no sign

[1:08] of the rescue services. That would sound

[1:11] like that was a conventional warhead.

[1:13] Now, that raises the possibility since

[1:14] we uh we have several different

[1:17] indications now that perhaps a mixture

[1:19] of warheads was fired. But I must

[1:22] emphasize that we have no confirmed

[1:23] reports at all that non-conventional

[1:25] warheads have been used. Just these

[1:27] reports and we will try to report only

[1:30] things that we have from eyewitnesses or

[1:32] from officials or that we hear on the

[1:34] official radio. We're trying to stay

[1:36] away from rumors. Dan
