[0:22] so revelation chapter 16 we're in

[0:25] the first seven verses today and so

[0:28] we're gonna dive right in today by

[0:30] the time chapter 16 comes to pass

[0:33] the world will be in such chaotic

[0:35] disorder that god

[0:36] will not be able to delay his judgments

[0:38] any longer

[0:40] it's going to be such a wicked time now

[0:43] in the previous

[0:44] chapter and introduced the seven angels

[0:47] which had

[0:48] seven vials of god's wrath and we shared

[0:51] that video with you last week

[0:53] now it comes to the time in which they

[0:55] will pour out their vials

[0:56] upon the earth so chapter 15 introduced

[1:00] the

[1:00] first two points of this study the book

[1:03] of revelation is organized clearly

[1:05] around three major

[1:06] symbols the seals the trumpets and the

[1:09] vials

[1:10] the seal judgments are found in chapters

[1:12] four and five

[1:13] speaking of a time when the world is

[1:15] ruined by men

[1:17] the trumpet judgments chapters eight and

[1:19] nine speak of a time when the world is

[1:21] ruled by

[1:22] satan but the vile judgments speak

[1:25] of a time when the world is reclaimed by

[1:28] god there's a good three-point outline

[1:30] for you preacher boys that may be

[1:32] watching

[1:33] god here takes control out of his of his

[1:35] process of his judgment

[1:37] no longer will he work through

[1:39] intermediaries

[1:41] but he himself will judge the earth now

[1:44] as you look at chapter 16

[1:46] it's not that hard to outline by just

[1:49] using the angels one can get the outline

[1:51] these

[1:52] judgments though they come in rapid

[1:55] succession

[1:56] one after the other or even one

[1:59] while one is being given the next begins

[2:03] sometimes these judgments are even

[2:05] intermingled together

[2:07] it is a horrendous time of judgment upon

[2:09] the earth

[2:10] they are the worst days of

[2:13] earth now we're going to begin reading

[2:16] in verse number one the bible says and i

[2:18] heard a great voice

[2:20] out of the temple saying to the seven

[2:23] angels

[2:24] go your ways and pour out the vials of

[2:27] wrath

[2:27] of god upon the earth so this voice

[2:31] comes out of temple now this

[2:32] is not the earthly temple this is the

[2:35] throne room of god temple that we talked

[2:37] about

[2:38] last week so this temple in heaven the

[2:41] throne room of god there's

[2:42] seven angels that come out of it and i

[2:45] have the seven

[2:46] vile judgments so a great voice i'll

[2:49] tell the fact you'll notice throughout

[2:51] this chapter the word great

[2:53] is used many times but this speaks and

[2:56] instructs the angels to go to their

[2:58] prescribed places

[3:00] and to pour out their vials upon the

[3:02] earth

[3:03] at this point there is no mercy

[3:07] world powers will crumble earthquakes

[3:10] will cause the geographies of the lands

[3:12] mountains and islands to shift or

[3:14] disappear altogether

[3:16] the devastation that these vials will

[3:19] bring is

[3:20] unmatched by anything that the world has

[3:22] ever seen

[3:23] before god's fury against sin

[3:27] satan and his followers at this time

[3:30] excuse me satan's followers will do

[3:32] everything they can

[3:33] to distract from god's judgment but it's

[3:37] not going to do anything to stop it

[3:40] it's going to be the worst days here

[3:43] on earth but you'll notice this voice it

[3:45] comes out of the temple now the bible

[3:47] doesn't clearly

[3:48] identify to us who's speaking now you'll

[3:52] find a lot of different thoughts

[3:53] different commentators give different

[3:56] thoughts on

[3:57] the voice here some think it's in one of

[3:59] the angels that surround one of the four

[4:01] beasts that surround the throne room of

[4:03] god

[4:04] others believe it to be god himself and

[4:07] others

[4:08] have different opinions some just stay

[4:10] neutral and say we don't know who it is

[4:12] now

[4:12] my personal belief is that this is the

[4:15] lord himself jesus christ speaking

[4:17] all judgment has been given unto him and

[4:20] so the wrath of god is poured out upon

[4:23] the earth jesus is the dispenser

[4:26] of that judgment so he sends out the

[4:29] angels

[4:30] and it is god's wrath now i want you to

[4:32] notice something

[4:34] each time a vial is mentioned let's look

[4:36] at verse two

[4:38] and the first went the first angel went

[4:41] and poured out his vile

[4:43] upon the earth and there fell a noisome

[4:46] and grievous sore

[4:47] upon men which had the mark of the beast

[4:50] and upon them which worshiped

[4:52] his image now the phrase i want you to

[4:54] notice in

[4:55] every vial is that it's poured out

[4:58] it's not spilled it's not actually it's

[5:00] poured out

[5:01] in a controlled judgment it is

[5:04] poured out on specific targets specific

[5:08] things is the judgment so this first

[5:11] judgment is directed toward the

[5:13] worshipers of the beast the idolaters of

[5:16] the day

[5:17] some has someone has said is like the

[5:19] people are standing on the brink of hell

[5:22] and that a few flames from hell reach

[5:24] out to torment them prematurely

[5:26] remember now this sore is an outward

[5:29] sign of an inward

[5:33] corruption the swords inflicted upon

[5:36] those that re

[5:37] rebel symbolize all those that are there

[5:40] worshiping

[5:41] satan as god has poured out his wrath

[5:44] upon them so all the men

[5:46] who have the mark of the beast either in

[5:47] their hand or in their forehead

[5:49] are going to be covered in these noise

[5:51] some grievous

[5:53] boils now i believe it to be boils it

[5:57] says that there are swords but it seems

[5:59] to be

[5:59] the reference terminology boils we see

[6:02] that in the plagues of

[6:03] egypt the boils that are there so it's

[6:06] manifest also

[6:07] these are terrible source i believe them

[6:10] to be boils i believe that's what the

[6:11] bibles are describing here

[6:13] now usually boils begin as a small

[6:16] almost unnoticed red dot on the skin

[6:19] but over a short time it rises to a

[6:21] large

[6:22] hard ugly bleeding and sore on the

[6:26] skin

[6:27] its pain is throbbing itching

[6:30] and burning one that will debilitate its

[6:33] victim to utter uselessness

[6:35] often driving them crazy it's kind of

[6:38] like

[6:38] sin it be when it begins it appears as

[6:41] nothing

[6:42] but then it robs its victim of all

[6:44] dignity and purpose

[6:46] the swords inflicted upon these rebels

[6:48] symbolize all that these people were

[6:51] in their worship of satan it's as if god

[6:53] has poured out the judgment

[6:55] and has caused this rebellion to surface

[6:58] they manifest so what's inside that

[7:00] corruption against god that hatred of

[7:02] god

[7:03] that sinfulness that wicked has now

[7:05] boiled to the top

[7:06] and these boils are there and they're

[7:08] painful

[7:10] and they're noisy they're evil they're

[7:13] painful and another thought is it's the

[7:16] mark of the beast it says and then that

[7:18] worshipped his image in exodus chapter 9

[7:22] verses 9 through 11

[7:23] the sixth plague of egypt was very much

[7:26] like this plague

[7:27] instead of following the law though as

[7:30] there was a prophecy given in

[7:32] deuteronomy 28 37

[7:34] or 28 27 excuse me in 35

[7:37] was the curse that god had upon those

[7:40] that

[7:40] were instead of following the law

[7:42] followed strange gods

[7:44] he basically said if you follow other

[7:46] gods as they did

[7:48] here following the antichrist you will

[7:50] pay with the same plagues that the

[7:52] egyptians paid in egypt

[7:54] it's actually an outward demonstration

[7:56] of their inward corruption

[7:58] so this first plague everyone who's got

[8:00] the mark everyone

[8:02] every man woman boy and girl who has

[8:04] received the mark of the beast

[8:07] will have these boils now those that are

[8:08] still on the earth that have trusted in

[8:10] christ i've been saved during the

[8:12] tribulation period

[8:14] under the testimony of the two witnesses

[8:16] or under the 144 000 witnesses

[8:19] they won't have the boils so god's wrath

[8:21] is poured out on those that

[8:23] have the mark not on those who do not

[8:25] have the mark

[8:26] secondly verse 3 the second angel poured

[8:29] out his vial upon the sea

[8:31] and it became as the blood of a dead man

[8:34] and every living soul died

[8:37] in the sea now you'll notice this plague

[8:40] is sim

[8:41] is similar to the second seal in

[8:43] revelation

[8:44] six three and four and the second

[8:47] trumpet judgment in revelation 8

[8:49] 8 both of which have something to do

[8:52] with blood

[8:53] now the vial here especially affects the

[8:56] salt waters of the world

[8:58] now in the seal and trumpet judgments it

[9:01] was measured

[9:02] here it's full it's god's undiluted

[9:05] wrath

[9:06] poured out on mankind in the trumpet

[9:09] judgment specifically

[9:10] it was one-third but here it is

[9:14] all all living souls but you'll notice

[9:16] that poured

[9:17] outward it's measured it's poured out

[9:20] upon the sea and it became as the blood

[9:23] of a dead man

[9:24] dr donald g barnhouse shared some

[9:27] significance of this judgment when he

[9:29] said this

[9:31] that then which has always been the

[9:33] symbol of salvation

[9:35] in the midst of life becomes the symbol

[9:38] of condemnation

[9:40] in the midst of death but now where the

[9:42] seas turn to blood

[9:44] the fish die and the winds of god blow

[9:48] the death

[9:48] all over the earth they have refused the

[9:51] salvation

[9:53] that would give would have come to them

[9:55] from the blood of the one whose life

[9:57] and is or excuse me is life and now they

[10:00] receive condemnation

[10:02] from the blood that symbolizes death

[10:05] the second vile judgment god's under the

[10:08] wrath is poured out upon

[10:09] the sea now i believe it to be all

[10:13] the oceans all the sea all the salt

[10:16] water areas there are some who believe

[10:18] it's just the mediterranean sea

[10:20] i don't see that here i believe it's all

[10:23] when it says that

[10:24] every living soul died in the sea i

[10:25] believe it's the whole sea

[10:27] so everything's poured out upon all the

[10:29] oceans

[10:30] and it becomes like a dead man now this

[10:33] blood

[10:34] is like a dead man's blood it stinks

[10:38] pure putrid awful

[10:41] these all the sea creatures every

[10:44] sea creature will die and when they die

[10:47] their bodies or carcasses will

[10:50] stink and the rotting smell will spread

[10:54] all across this world as the judgment of

[10:58] god

[10:58] is being poured out the third angel

[11:02] verse 4 poured out his vial upon the

[11:04] rivers

[11:05] and the fountains of waters and they

[11:08] became

[11:09] blood the third vial if you read this

[11:12] carefully you'll get the idea that this

[11:14] vial is just an extension of the salt

[11:16] water judgments

[11:17] and where the waters are turning to

[11:18] blood but now all the rivers

[11:21] lakes and fountains of the world

[11:24] are turned to blood imagine that

[11:27] you go to your faucet you turn the

[11:30] faucet on and out comes blood

[11:33] be awful it's awful judgment

[11:36] so now all of the water you know our

[11:39] earth is made up i believe over 70

[11:41] percent

[11:42] of it is water you consider the fact the

[11:45] salt water

[11:46] has been turned to blood and everything

[11:48] in it has died

[11:49] and now the regular water the fresh

[11:52] water

[11:53] has been turned to blood and the

[11:56] horribleness of that now as i mentioned

[11:59] earlier this judgment comes out very

[12:01] quickly

[12:02] and so one writer commentator says it

[12:05] this way

[12:06] he just gives a thought can you imagine

[12:08] if it's in seven days so on day one

[12:11] you have the boils on day two you have

[12:13] the salt water on day three

[12:15] i don't know if it's seven days or not

[12:17] but i do know that it's a quick

[12:20] judgment and so all the water is turned

[12:22] to blood

[12:23] you'll notice in verse 5 the angel of

[12:25] the water said thou art righteous o lord

[12:28] which art and waste and shall be because

[12:31] thou hast

[12:32] judged us for they have shed the blood

[12:34] of saints and prophets

[12:36] and thou hast given them blood to drink

[12:38] for they are worthy

[12:40] now you may be reading this and saying

[12:43] how could a

[12:44] how could a god a loving god come out of

[12:46] that well that voice

[12:48] that came out says that god is righteous

[12:50] look at verse 7

[12:51] i forgot to read it to you i heard

[12:54] another out of the altar saving

[12:55] even so lord god almighty true

[12:59] and righteous are thy judgments

[13:04] though this is bloody it is righteous

[13:08] and god is vindicated in this the reason

[13:11] for this blood is because the shedding

[13:13] of the blood of god's

[13:15] people why are they given blood to drink

[13:17] because they've shed the blood of the

[13:19] saints

[13:20] and the prophets the law of sowing and

[13:23] reaping can be applied here

[13:25] just as the beast and his followers were

[13:28] guilty of slaying many believers

[13:30] they must now drink the blood notice

[13:33] also in verse 7

[13:35] that there's a vindication here

[13:38] it says that under the altar satisfied

[13:40] god has answered their prayer for

[13:42] vindication

[13:43] remember the importance of the altar the

[13:45] altar has been the shelter of the

[13:47] martyrs

[13:48] of the book of revelation chapter 6

[13:50] verses 9 and 10.

[13:52] it's amazing how god responds in verse 7

[13:55] to presumed questions some ask how could

[13:58] god do this

[13:59] the answer is god is true and righteous

[14:03] in his judgments these first three vials

[14:07] they're

[14:07] poured out they're measured but it's

[14:10] god's

[14:11] undiluted wrath it's a measured full

[14:14] wrath of god but also

[14:18] it's going to be quick in its judgment

[14:22] the worst days of earth here in chapter

[14:26] 16 we are nearing the end

[14:28] the next group of vials we'll look at

[14:30] will set us

[14:31] up for the battle of armageddon that

[14:34] will take place

[14:35] at the end of the tribulation period my

[14:37] friend i want to encourage you if you do

[14:39] not know jesus christ as your savior

[14:41] i don't want you to have to drink blood

[14:44] during the tribulation period

[14:46] i want you to come to the saving

[14:48] knowledge of jesus christ

[14:50] he died for you christian if you're

[14:53] watching this video today

[14:55] it's going to be awful during the

[14:56] tribulation period

[14:58] but we have hope and peace that we will

[15:00] be with god

[15:01] after the rapture of the church at the

[15:04] beginning

[15:04] of the tribulation period but for those

[15:07] that are here on this earth that do not

[15:09] know jesus christ it's going to be a

[15:11] terrible

[15:12] terrible time these judgments are

[15:15] measured

[15:16] but they're awful i want you to tune in

[15:18] next week as we look at the next three

[15:21] vile judgments and then the week after

[15:24] we'll look at the very last one that

[15:26] seventh vial and then we'll get into

[15:28] chapter 17

[15:30] 18 and 19 and we're getting closer
