[0:00] between Senators Hillary Clinton and
[0:02] Barack Obama. But the big story tonight
[0:04] is Senator Barack Obama has secured
[0:06] enough delegates to clinch the
[0:08] nomination for the Democratic Party.
[0:10] Just moments ago, he declared himself
[0:12] the Democratic nominee. And Hillary
[0:14] Clinton spoke tonight in New York City
[0:16] and congratulated Senator Obama on
[0:19] running an extraordinary race. Now, she
[0:21] stopped short of conceding the race,
[0:23] saying she will not make any decisions
[0:25] until she meets with her adviserss.
[0:27] Earlier in the day, her camp confirmed
[0:29] that she would be open to being Barack
[0:31] Obama's running mate, but made no
[0:33] mention of it in her speech tonight,
[0:35] saying simply she will work to unite the
[0:37] Democratic party. Joining us now for
[0:39] reaction to these huge developments is
[0:42] the president of the Raspio Report,
[0:44] Scott Raspson. Scott, welcome aboard, my
[0:46] friend.
[0:47] >> Great to be with you, Sean. It's a big
[0:48] night and a significant night in
[0:50] American history with an
[0:51] African-American capturing that
[0:52] nomination.
[0:53] >> Can he win the general election against
[0:54] Senator McCain?
[0:56] >> Can he? Yes. Will he? We don't know.
[0:58] He's coming into this race a little
[0:59] weakened at the end. He's a little bit
[1:01] like the New England Patriots at the end
[1:02] of the regular season in the NFL and we
[1:05] don't know if he can really carry it the
[1:07] rest of the way. What we do know is the
[1:09] the decision will rest on what Americans
[1:11] decide about him, not what they think
[1:13] about John McCain.
[1:14] >> You know, I was listening to Brit and
[1:16] the panel earlier, Juan Williams, and
[1:17] some of the
