[0:06] President Obama completes an overhaul of
[0:08] his national security team. I'm Harry
[0:11] Smith. Also tonight, where she stops,
[0:13] nobody knows. Sarah Palin hops on the
[0:17] bus and leaves the country guessing
[0:19] about where she's headed. Answering the
[0:22] call in Joplain, an army of volunteers
[0:25] is helping tornado victims dig out. And
[0:28] for this veteran, every day is Memorial
[0:31] Day.

[0:45] >> Good evening. They answered the call to
[0:47] duty and gave their lives. Today,
[0:50] Americans paid tribute to them. It was
[0:52] an emotional Memorial Day and one marked
[0:54] by change as President Obama named a new
[0:56] top military officer. A reminder that
[0:59] members of the US armed forces are in
[1:01] harm's way on three separate fronts.
[1:06] At Arlington National Cemetery, the
[1:09] president laid a wreath before the Tomb
[1:11] of the Unknowns and addressed military
[1:13] families who waved flags and fans in the
[1:17] sweltering heat.
[1:18] Our nation
[1:21] owes a debt to its fallen heroes that we
[1:23] can never fully repay, but we can honor
[1:26] their sacrifice,
[1:28] and we must." The crowd greeted retiring
[1:31] chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff,
[1:33] Admiral Mike Mullik, with his standing
[1:35] ovation for his four decades of service
[1:38] in the military.
[1:40] Earlier in the day, the president had
[1:42] announced the Admiral's replacement,
[1:44] Army General Martin Dempsey. With nearly
[1:46] 40 years in uniform,
[1:49] Martin Dempsey is one of our nation's
[1:51] most respected and combat tested
[1:54] generals. General Dempsey will serve as
[1:56] the principal military adviser to the
[1:58] president and hi
