[0:50] >> Good evening. The war against
[0:52] Afghanistan's ruling Taliban appears to
[0:54] have entered a new potentially decisive
[0:57] phase. Arabled Taliban holdouts facing
[1:00] annihilation in the northern city of
[1:03] Condos are now said to be fighting among
[1:05] themselves. And those trapped in the
[1:07] Taliban's southern stronghold of
[1:09] Kandahar apparently hope to talk their
[1:12] way out. But US officials say forget it.
[1:15] They're anxious to be done with the
[1:16] Taliban and get on with trying to find
[1:18] Osama bin Laden. CBS has battlefield
[1:21] reports tonight from correspondents
[1:23] across the war zone. But we begin at the
[1:26] Pentagon with an overview from David
[1:28] Martin.

[1:31] air strikes all around them, the Taliban
[1:34] is still holding out at Kandahar in the

[1:46] end up in some sort of a negotiation
