[12:54] out to me was one of the um things Miss

[12:57] Angie was saying was how important it is

[12:59] to hide God's word in your heart and

[13:02] when I was a teenager after I got saved

[13:06] I actually did a lot of that of

[13:08] memorizing scripture and I'm glad I did

[13:10] that when I was young because the older

[13:12] you get the harder it is to to memorize

[13:16] anything really but anyway um she was

[13:19] talking about um when you don't have

[13:22] God's word in your heart and you go

[13:25] through things if you don't put it in

[13:28] there then you don't have it when you

[13:29] need it and I thought about all the

[13:32] times in my life when I've went through

[13:34] things that God would remind me of a

[13:37] verse I memorized a long time ago or I

[13:40] might just have like a little piece of a

[13:42] verse that that I remembered and um that

[13:46] maybe I didn't memorize but I had heard

[13:48] before and I'd have to go looking for it

[13:51] but how much better it is to to have it

[13:54] and if you don't put it in it's

[13:57] it's it's just a lot it's a lot easier

[14:00] to have it there for you and God can use

[14:02] it in your life in such an easier way if

[14:05] you take the time to memorize scripture

[14:07] but anyway I thought that was really

[14:09] good but I was just thankful for all the

[14:11] ladies who got to go we had a good time

[14:13] just fellowshipping together and it was

[14:14] just nice to get

[14:55] that stood out was she said it helps us

[14:58] to know right right from wrong but then

[15:00] it doesn't just stop there it shows you

[15:03] how to make things right and then even

[15:06] goes even further it's it shows you how

[15:08] to keep it right yeah so that was a

[15:10] blessing amen praise the Lord good any

[15:57] every time you get into it you can find

[15:59] find something new and it's so true that

[16:01] there'll be passages that I've read so

[16:03] many times in my life but right when I

[16:05] need something God has something right

[16:07] there in his word waiting amen praise

[20:56] honor of the word of God Peter is

[20:58] writing to the churches here and he

[21:00] references in his writing the things

[21:03] that he's seen the things that he's

[21:06] witnessed and then in verse number 19

[21:08] through verse number

[21:09] 21 he gives us a challenge to consider

[21:13] verse number 19 we have also a more sure

[21:19] word of Prophecy where unto ye do well

[21:24] that ye take heed as unto a light that

[21:28] shineth in a dark place until the day

[21:31] Dawn and the day star rise in your

[21:35] hearts knowing this first that no

[21:39] Prophecy of the scripture is of any

[21:43] private

[21:45] interpretation for the prophecy came not

[21:48] in Old Time by the will of man but holy

[21:53] men of God spake as they were moved by

[22:49] Peter writes of the word of

[22:54] God and it's a more sure word

[22:59] the phrasing

[23:01] there talks about

[23:04] a a a foundational

[23:07] truth it's a firm

[23:11] foundation nothing in the word of God is

[23:15] slippery it's sure it's

[23:20] solid and when you and I slip we need a

[23:23] solid foundation to run

[23:25] to we need the word of God in our Liv

[23:29] lives so Peter as he writes he tells us

[23:32] it's a more sure word of

[23:37] Prophecy and what he's just said is that

[23:39] he's he has seen it he has heard it he

[23:42] has heard Jesus he has seen him he's

[23:45] eyewitnesses of his majesty in verse

[23:50] 16 he talks about the voice that he

[23:52] heard this is my beloved Son in whom I

[23:54] am well

[23:55] pleased and then under the inspiration

[23:58] of God he writes to us about the word of

[24:02] God in verse 18 and this voice which

[24:05] came from heaven we heard when we were

[24:08] with him in the Holy

[24:10] Mount he talks about who Jesus is he

[24:14] talks about in the verses previous and

[24:17] describing him and everything that he's

[24:19] done and then he comes to verse number

[24:22] 19 because you and I didn't get to see

[24:25] Jesus in the flesh with our eyes

[24:28] we didn't get to have our hands handle

[24:31] him but when we look into the pages of

[24:35] scripture we can see

[24:37] him we can see him for who he is we can

[24:41] see him for how he

[24:44] lives we could see him how he suffered

[24:47] in all points like as we are yet without

[24:53] sin I didn't know all the quotes the

[24:55] ladies were going to give tonight but it

[24:57] gives Creed to what God's placed upon my

[25:00] heart

[25:01] tonight your Bible is a

[25:06] treasure but you won't know what's

[25:08] inside your treasure box if you don't

[25:11] open

[25:17] it I think about all the nations we'll

[25:40] powerful source of literature

[25:44] ever it's a living book it's a powerful

[25:49] book I love the quote how much is it

[25:52] worth to

[25:54] you how much is it worth to you a a man

[25:58] had an large art

[26:01] collection at some of the most famous

[26:03] paintings in all the

[26:05] world upon his passing he decided he was

[26:08] going to sell all of the artwork in an

[26:14] auction but first there was a portrait

[26:17] of a young lady that came up first and

[26:19] the auctioneer began and no one was

[26:26] bidding wasn't as polished a painting as

[26:29] some of the other ones it wasn't by a

[26:31] well-renowned

[26:36] artist finally one gentleman gave a bid

[26:39] and they sold the painting to the man in

[26:43] the back of the

[26:46] room the auctioneer then cried out the

[26:50] auction is

[26:51] over people began to murmur complain

[26:54] what what about all the other

[26:56] ones he said the

[26:59] the owner of the estate has left this

[27:02] the first portrait will be of my

[27:07] granddaughter the most precious painting

[27:11] I

[27:12] own whoever purchases this

[27:15] portrait will possess them

[27:21] all I don't know if it's an illustration

[27:25] that's just been passed down from

[27:27] generation to

[27:29] generation or if it truly happened that

[27:33] way but I do know this that when you and

[27:37] I

[27:38] consider how valuable it is to go look

[27:41] at the face of the savior in the word of

[27:43] God there's no other book in our library

[27:47] that ought to take precedent over

[27:50] this it ought to be held on

[27:54] tightly and considered I find it amazing

[27:56] as Peter writes we've got a more sure

[27:59] word of Prophecy where

[28:01] unto ye do well that ye take heed as

[28:05] unto a light that shineth in a dark

[28:10] place the day and age we live in is a

[28:13] dark

[28:14] World the days of difficulty May abound

[28:18] but the word of God is a light that

[28:20] shineth in a dark

[28:24] place in Peter's life he'd been in some

[28:28] difficult

[28:30] situations the comfort of God in his

[28:32] word the light that shines in the dark

[28:35] place the psalm writer put it this way

[28:37] Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a

[28:41] light unto my

[28:46] path the word of God lights up where I'm

[28:48] at today but also lights up the next

[28:52] steps

[28:55] ahead powerful

[28:59] in Corinthians it says the weapons of

[29:01] our Warfare the word of God In Prayer

[29:04] are Mighty to the pulling down of

[29:08] strongholds the word of God the light

[29:12] that shineth in the dark place

[29:15] until until we got a time signature here

[29:20] until the day Dawn and the day star

[29:25] arise in your

[29:30] Hearts what is he talking about well

[29:32] until the Lord sits on his throne on the

[29:36] earth the word of God is to light up our

[29:40] life till Jesus comes back he's the day

[29:43] star and when he's going to sit on the

[29:45] throne here upon the Earth and that day

[29:48] Dawns that he has entered returned back

[29:51] as king until that day the word of God

[29:55] needs to be a light in your life

[30:00] how bright does it Shine today in your

[30:06] life I was talking to a young man just a

[30:08] few weeks ago and we were challenging

[30:11] each other about memorizing scripture

[30:12] and putting God's word in our heart

[30:14] because we said there could come a day

[30:15] where they outlaw this book

[30:18] here and if all you have is what you've

[30:20] committed to

[30:23] memory would you have

[30:25] enough and all of us would say no I'm I

[30:28] need

[30:29] more I need more of the word of

[30:32] God you know there are parts of this

[30:34] world that just have a

[30:37] page just a page

[30:40] scripture just a

[30:44] page we have the whole counsel of God in

[30:48] our

[30:50] hands it lights up our

[30:53] Darkness until the day Dawn and the day

[30:55] start Rising our so we can't stop

[30:57] reading it

[31:02] we can't stop learning from

[31:05] it we can't stop growing

[31:10] therein verse 20 he says this knowing

[31:13] this first that no Prophecy of the

[31:17] scripture is of any private

[31:21] interpretation

[31:29] no prophecy of scriptures of any private

[31:33] interpretation don't use the word of God

[31:37] for your own interpretation of it the

[31:40] Bible says what it says and it means

[31:42] what it

[31:44] says where the Bible is silent we

[31:47] probably should pay attention to

[31:49] that at Opportunity Friday uh to teach a

[31:54] class for the young men that are seniors

[31:57] this year here at Heartland Baptist

[31:58] Bible College had the opportunity to

[32:01] teach in that practical Ministry class

[32:03] over the years one of the subjects

[32:04] they've had me teach the last few years

[32:06] is ministering at the end of

[32:09] life we talk about funerals we talk

[32:12] about cremation we talk about healthc

[32:14] care proxy power of attorney all of

[32:17] those type things how to be a blessing

[32:18] to a family uh how to help people

[32:21] navigate the end of life and making life

[32:24] decisions as far as navigating through

[32:27] that and we talk about that we talk a

[32:29] little bit about insurance and uh end of

[32:32] life planning and those type of things

[32:34] and so we try to help people navigate

[32:36] through

[32:38] that but there's a a thought that some

[32:41] people have in

[32:43] scripture and I ask the class about it

[32:46] because I like to challenge them and get

[32:48] them to think about

[32:50] something there's a thought in scripture

[32:52] and I asked them what they're going to

[32:54] do with someone who chooses cremation

[32:57] over a bear Arial service a traditional

[33:00] funeral there are some believe that

[33:03] scripture teaches that that is a sinful

[33:05] choice and I don't see it in the word of

[33:08] God

[33:10] there they they take a principle over

[33:13] here and make a broad application and we

[33:16] got to be careful anytime we take an

[33:18] ethereal thought from over here and try

[33:20] to make a broad applicational truth I

[33:22] have a preference and if you want to

[33:24] know my preference I'll tell you about

[33:25] it later and I'll tell you why it's my

[33:26] preference

[33:29] but I know why a lot of people do that

[33:32] has nothing to do with a religious

[33:33] practice for them has nothing to do with

[33:36] them worshiping a false god it's

[33:38] strictly a financial decision that they

[33:42] make but in having that conversation

[33:45] with the young men we helped them to

[33:48] understand that we can't take scripture

[33:50] that's over here and make a broad truth

[33:54] application if the Bible didn't make a

[33:56] broad truth application

[33:59] it's of no private

[34:01] interpretation we have to be careful

[34:03] when we take the word of God but this is

[34:05] the amazing thing it's of no private

[34:08] interpretation the word of God says what

[34:10] it says and means what it says and we

[34:13] know why it says what it says it means

[34:15] what it

[34:16] says and so as we study the word of God

[34:19] we ought to do our best as the Bible

[34:21] says to study to show thyself approved

[34:23] unto God a Workman that needeth not to

[34:25] be ashamed rightly divid ing the word of

[34:29] Truth so we ought to study

[34:32] it ought to study it with the mindset of

[34:36] knowing the original intent of the

[34:38] author what God was

[34:41] saying we must understand that God used

[34:44] men to pin the word of God we're going

[34:46] to talk about it here verse number 21

[34:49] for the prophecy came not in Old Time by

[34:52] the will of

[34:55] man so every person that was used by God

[34:59] to pin the word of God the Bible that

[35:02] you hold in your hand he didn't get to

[35:04] pick the

[35:07] words the Holy Ghost instructed him what

[35:09] to write and that's what they

[35:12] wrote holy men of God spake as they were

[35:15] moved by the Holy Ghost so God told him

[35:18] what to write but here's the amazing

[35:20] thing about God God used the instrument

[35:24] that was writing to provide color

[35:28] to the commentary of

[35:30] scripture so in my office uh I've got a

[35:33] couple different pens that look like

[35:35] this but you'll notice right here

[35:37] there's a little red ring on this one I

[35:40] have other ones that have a little black

[35:41] ring I have some that have blue and

[35:43] somebody gave me one that even has a

[35:45] purple ring I don't think I've ever used

[35:47] it but I've got one of them

[35:50] too but I like the style of this

[35:54] writing the way this pen functions I use

[35:57] it a lot in my note taking and my

[35:58] studying I like the way that it it

[36:02] writes but just a few weeks ago I went

[36:05] and I have on my desk a spot where these

[36:07] are all stored and I was not paying

[36:09] attention to the red

[36:12] ring so I grabbed it thinking when I put

[36:16] this to paper it's going to be black

[36:18] like all the other

[36:19] ones and I began to write oh it came out

[36:22] red that's not the color I was planning

[36:25] on

[36:26] using so I put it back and I pulled out

[36:29] another one the one that I wanted and

[36:31] wrote the rest of the article that we

[36:33] were writing in in Black

[36:36] Ink you know what the amazing thing is

[36:38] that God did through the using the men

[36:40] that he used to pin the word of God is

[36:42] he took the color that they have in

[36:44] their life The Styling that they have

[36:47] and he used them to pin the word of God

[36:50] you can look at the gospels of Matthew

[36:52] Mark and

[36:53] Luke and you can see different detail in

[37:06] personality of the writer comes into

[37:10] play that's an amazing thing that God

[37:13] did is that God used holy men of God to

[37:17] pin the word of God as instructed by God

[37:21] and he let their personality come

[37:24] through isn't that amazing of God to

[37:27] choose to do

[37:28] that to speak to men and have them pin

[37:32] the word of God but it came not by the

[37:34] will of men they didn't get to choose

[37:35] what they wrote they were instructed by

[37:37] God every word every thought every

[37:41] premise is from God on what to write as

[37:46] a church we have in our doctrinal

[37:48] statement we believe in the verbal

[37:51] plenary inspiration of

[37:54] scripture the words the verbal and the

[37:57] plary is the thoughts so I believe the

[37:59] word and the thought have been inspired

[38:03] by God and how he wants the word of God

[38:05] to him every word and every thought now

[38:09] the danger with some Modern new

[38:11] translations is that they don't believe

[38:13] in

[38:14] verbal they just believe in

[38:17] thought and so it's their thoughts about

[38:20] the thought that they

[38:23] write so a lot of your new modern

[38:25] versions are not word for word train

[38:27] translation their thought forth thought

[38:31] translation so it's their thoughts about

[38:33] the thoughts and that's what they use to

[38:35] pin and that's how you end up with

[38:37] different thoughts on the paper because

[38:39] the words mean things and the words are

[38:44] important his words can change

[38:48] Doctrine we believe the King James Bible

[38:51] is a preserved word of God for

[38:53] englishspeaking

[38:55] people we believe that with our

[38:58] heart we believe that God preserved it

[39:00] for

[39:02] us and we believe that the words that he

[39:06] inspired the holy men of God to write

[39:09] have been translated into English and

[39:11] those words

[39:13] matter and some of the other versions

[39:16] change that

[39:17] word changes the doctrinal truth that's

[39:22] there or they leave words out which

[39:26] changes the doctrinal truth that God's

[39:29] trying to keep preserved for

[39:32] us I'll give you a simple

[39:36] example the Bible says in our King James

[39:39] version Behold a virgin shall conceive

[39:40] and bear a son they shall call his name

[39:44] Jesus Behold a virgin all the modern

[39:46] ones have changed that word virgin they

[39:48] take it out and they change it to a

[39:50] young

[39:51] woman that happens all the

[39:54] time a lot of young women conceive and

[39:57] Bear

[39:59] Sons but only one was virgin

[40:02] born it proves the deity of

[40:05] Christ that's important truth changing

[40:08] that word in the book of Acts with the

[40:11] Ethiopian

[40:13] unic he asked Philip the question what

[40:15] do hinder me to be baptized our Bible

[40:18] tells us if thou believest with all

[40:19] thine heart thou

[40:21] mayest a lot of new modern versions they

[40:24] just leave that whole verse out

[40:27] so they asked Phillip he asked Phillip

[40:32] take out that complete verse the next

[40:33] verse you say here is much water and he

[40:48] section of words it changes the

[40:51] meaning in John 3:16 one of the most

[40:54] famous verses for God so loved the world

[40:56] that he gave his own only what begotten

[41:01] son cuz he's the only begotten

[41:05] one in first John it says now are we the

[41:08] sons of

[41:11] God a lot of the new modern versions

[41:13] changed that begotten to one and

[41:16] only but they still have the verse in

[41:18] first John that says that we are now

[41:20] sons of God so how can he have a one and

[41:23] only son and also we be Sons

[41:28] confusion but we know this that the word

[41:31] of God came not by the will of man but

[41:34] holy men of God spake as they were moved

[41:36] by the Holy Ghost God used the

[41:38] personality of the writer to pin the

[41:40] words and it's here for us

[41:44] today on every day that ends in day

[41:48] God's got something for you in his

[41:51] word it's a

[41:55] treasure now the world will try to get a

[42:00] get away from the word of God the word

[42:02] will try to destroy it but God's word as

[42:05] we heard in the song will

[42:10] stand you holding your

[42:12] hands the

[42:14] inspired

[42:16] preserved word of

[42:22] God do you open it any other time than

[42:24] Sunday

[42:28] we should we should be daily in the

[42:32] word we should love

[42:35] it sometimes when we read the word ow it

[42:40] hurts Hebrews describes it as sharper

[42:42] than any two-edged sword piercing even

[42:44] to the dividing Ascender of Soul and

[42:47] Spirit and is a discerner of the

[42:48] thoughts and intents of the

[42:54] heart you mean when I'm not thinking

[42:56] right the Bible can cut

[43:09] that another portion of the word of God

[43:11] says that we ought to look into it it's

[43:14] mirror when we see ourselves in

[43:28] us God's word changes lives God's word

[43:32] us and if we look into the mirror of

[43:37] become what God wants us to

[43:40] become the word of God is more sure word

[43:45] prophecy the word of God is a light in

[43:48] the darkness the word of God is of no

[43:50] private

[43:52] interpretation the word of God was

[43:54] preserved and inspired for us to have in

[43:56] our our hands to hold and it's written

[43:59] by

[44:02] God one writer described it this way

[44:05] it's God's love letter to

[44:08] us he said he went in his Bible and

[44:11] before Genesis 1:1 he put deer in his

[44:15] name and then he went to the end of the

[44:17] book of Revelation he wrote love

[44:21] God every word every line every thought

[44:26] is for

[44:27] us all scripture is given by inspiration

[44:30] of God and it's profitable for Doctrine

[44:33] for reprove for correction for

[44:34] instruction and righteous that the man

[44:36] of God may be perfect thly furnished

[44:38] unto all good

[44:40] works word of God is a living breathing

[44:43] book it's new every day how many times

[44:47] have you read a

[44:48] passage thought that was good and

[44:51] another time you read the same passage

[44:53] you thought

[44:55] wow never saw that

[44:59] before why because it's

[45:02] Illuminating word of God's Alive it's

[45:04] Illuminating in our

[45:06] lives it's a powerful powerful

[45:10] book the word of God does not return

[45:15] void every time the word of God is given

[45:17] out it doesn't return

[45:20] void powerful

[45:28] week we going to be challenged about

[45:31] people who don't

[45:33] have what you

[45:41] have

[45:43] how there's there there are many who

[45:46] only have John and

[45:49] Romans that's

[45:51] it that's all they have the Book of John

[45:55] and the Book of Romans in their language

[45:57] that's all they

[46:00] have how many of you this week how many

[46:02] of you this week we're going to do

[46:03] audience participation tonight how many

[46:05] of you this week God gave you a truth or

[46:08] a verse outside of John and Romans that

[46:11] helped you in your life this week how

[46:13] many of you had one many many people put

[46:15] your hands down can you imagine if you

[46:17] didn't have that in your

[46:21] language the 1040 window of the world a

[46:25] lot of unreached people groups in in

[46:27] there that don't have copies of the word

[46:28] of

[46:32] God but we

[46:36] do but we

[46:39] do we have we have access to the most

[46:41] powerful book in all the

[46:44] world changes lives it say it points

[46:48] Sinners to the

[46:52] Savior it helps save people live a

[46:54] Sanctified life it helps the discouraged

[46:57] be encouraged it helps the downtrodden

[47:00] to be lifted up it corrects it reproves

[47:04] it instructs it guides it

[47:08] teaches we have

[47:11] it many do

[47:16] not next week we're going to try to help

[47:19] with

[47:20] that going have that change to change a

[47:23] life

[47:24] offering get some portions of the word

[47:26] of God

[47:27] in people's

[47:31] hands can you imagine attending a

[47:36] service and not being

[47:39] able to open up your Bible and

[47:45] read because you don't have one not just

[47:50] financially it's not even in your

[47:52] language

[47:56] young preacher boys in the

[47:59] room you imagine going to a place and

[48:02] trying to preach a

[48:04] message they don't have

[48:07] it they don't have that portion of

[48:10] scripture they can't read

[48:16] it our hearts ought to be

[48:20] stirred as we heard this morning the

[48:22] Harvest truly is

[48:24] plenteous but the laborers are

[48:28] few the word of God needs to go to

[48:34] everyone so if we look into the word of

[48:37] God and we know it's a living breathing

[48:39] book it's a powerful book wouldn't we

[48:42] want everyone to have access to

[48:46] it we want everyone to have access to

[48:51] it I'd want every believer to be able to

[48:55] experience a daily walk with God through

[48:58] his

[49:06] word the sad thing is is that even

[49:09] though we have whole

[49:11] Bibles and sometimes multiple

[49:14] copies people who just have a single

[49:17] portion of the word of God many times

[49:21] have devoted more time to reading that

[49:23] single portion and memorizing it than we

[49:26] have to our

[49:27] Bible shame on us all of us should do

[49:31] better at

[49:32] that all of us should

[49:34] desire to do

[49:38] more I I'm committing to you I'm I'm

[49:42] going to try to learn and memorize more

[49:45] scripture this

[49:46] year

[49:50] intentional one because I am getting

[49:54] older and sometimes I go to recall a

[49:58] verse it's in there

[50:01] somewhere I call it my anesthesia brain

[50:03] it's in there it just got to pull it out

[50:05] it's somewhere in there I'll find

[50:08] it or I remember section of the verse

[50:10] but I won't remember where it's found

[50:12] and it agitates

[50:17] me because when I was a teenager I did

[50:19] have opportunities to memorize

[50:22] chapters I had the whole book of First

[50:25] Timothy at one time

[50:27] completely memorized and now I have just

[50:30] sections and parts of

[50:32] it I'll start reading a section or start

[50:35] quoting a section and I'll remember

[50:37] sections of that

[50:39] but you know the old saying is if you

[50:41] don't use it you will lose

[50:46] it

[50:48] h the word of God needs to be daily in

[50:50] our

[50:52] lives we ought to study we ought to

[50:55] memorize we ought to let Let It Be The

[50:57] Light that shines in a dark place we all

[51:00] Let It guide our

[51:02] steps the psalmist said forever oh Lord

[51:05] Thy word is settled in

[51:10] heaven one of the interesting things

[51:12] that happened in Bible College I had a

[51:14] class called mobs m o BS methods of

[51:19] Bible

[51:22] study we would study out sections of

[51:25] scripture and have to do reports on it

[51:27] and we had what was called the Psalms

[51:29] project we had to take a verse out of

[51:31] every Psalm and dissect it and describe

[51:34] it and then turn it in as the end of the

[51:36] year

[51:38] project so we did all the 150 plus

[51:41] chapters of Psalms one verse from every

[51:43] chapter breaking it down structure of it

[51:47] and what it

[51:48] meant but in Psalm

[51:51] 119 the longest chapter in the Bible

[51:57] all the verses broken down there broken

[51:59] down in sections from Ali to

[52:03] to the Hebrew

[52:06] alphabet every letter breaks it all

[52:11] down the Hebrew alphabet it all starts

[52:13] with the same letter Al if beta all the

[52:17] way

[52:18] through not only does it that every

[52:20] verse talks about the word of God talks

[52:23] about precepts truths and thoughts

[52:28] the middle verse of the Bible if you

[52:31] took all the verses of scripture

[52:33] numerically and you divided it in half

[52:35] you'd arrive in Psalm chapter 118 would

[52:38] you turn

[52:41] there Psalm chapter

[52:45] 118 he took all the verses numerically

[52:49] divided them up we end up in Psalm 118

[52:58] you counted all the verses you'd end up

[53:00] in verse number eight being the middle

[53:03] verse of scripture

[53:06] numerically which says it is better to

[53:09] trust in the Lord than to put confidence

[53:14] in

[53:15] man trust in the Lord we talked about

[53:19] that a little bit this

[53:22] morning Psalm 1188 middle verse there

[53:25] it's better to trust in the Lord than to

[53:28] put confidence in man in Genesis 1:1 in

[53:31] the beginning God in the middle if you

[53:34] took the verb if you took the middle

[53:36] verse of the Bible you broke it down by

[53:38] words the Lord would be in the middle

[53:40] there and you get to the last book of

[53:42] the Bible the Book of Revelation even

[53:45] come so come quickly our Lord Jesus amen

[53:49] he's in the beginning he's in the middle

[53:51] he's in the end on the last page the

[53:54] first page right on the middle page of

[53:56] it's all about

[53:58] him the word of

[54:01] God gives us a picture of who Jesus

[54:06] is every time we read it he comes into

[54:10] view more

[54:14] clearly the word of God's powerful how

[54:18] powerful is it in your

[54:21] life the word of God is for correction

[54:24] has it corrected you lately

[54:29] the word of God is Doctrine and teaching

[54:31] has it taught you something

[54:33] lately well some people say well I'm too

[54:36] old to learn something new no you're

[54:39] not you know how I know you're still

[54:43] breathing if you're still breathing

[54:45] God's not through with you

[54:47] yet this past Thursday at our nursing

[54:50] home Ministry I was my my opportunity to

[54:53] preach that

[54:54] night and I told all residents there

[54:58] you're still breathing God's not through

[54:59] with you

[55:01] yet God's got a plan for

[55:04] you God wants to use you to be an

[55:06] encouragement to other people around you

[55:08] to talk about the Lord and had a good

[55:10] crowd that was there we got to encourage

[55:12] them in the things of

[55:15] God one lady afterward came up to talk

[55:18] to me and shared with me that six months

[55:21] ago she uh had a massive stroke and they

[55:24] thought her life was going to be

[55:28] over but she was talking to me and said

[55:31] but God was merciful unto

[55:34] me and she's grabbed her cane and said I

[55:38] really don't need this they just make me

[55:39] have it around here she said but when I

[55:42] came in I was in a

[55:45] wheelchair she said hang on she turned

[55:48] around to one of the ladies hang on just

[55:50] a second I'll help you and she walked

[55:52] over and she grabbed her wheelchair and

[55:54] she pushed her back to her room

[55:57] and she was encouraged in the things of

[55:59] God and the things we had talked about

[56:00] that

[56:03] night but right at the start of our

[56:07] service right in the fore Entry Way of

[56:10] River Oaks there's a Gathering Place

[56:13] there where we have our

[56:15] service and in our song service the

[56:18] paramedics came

[56:20] in went down the hallway and picked up a

[56:23] body of someone who was dealing with a

[56:25] heart health issue and willed them

[56:28] through our service and out the front

[56:31] door I couldn't help but think I don't

[56:34] know what tomorrow's going to bring for

[56:35] that

[56:37] gentleman but at the end of the service

[56:39] we prayed for that person we didn't know

[56:42] what was going on but we prayed for that

[56:45] person because we don't know what

[56:47] tomorrow is going to

[56:49] bring but we know who holds

[56:53] tomorrow and if you wake up tomorrow

[56:55] with breath

[56:59] you ought to read his word and spend

[57:02] time with him in prayer because he gave

[57:05] you another day for you to dive into his

[57:08] word and see how it works in your

[57:12] life Psalm 118 Verse number one would

[57:15] you look at it with

[57:17] me oh give thanks unto the Lord for he

[57:20] is what good because his mercy

[57:25] endureth

[57:30] forever have you done that

[57:35] lately next Sunday on our bus routes

[57:37] it'll be I love my Bible Sunday we're

[57:41] encouraging all the writers to bring a

[57:42] Bible and giv a prize out to the bus

[57:45] route that has the most uh percentage of

[57:48] Bibles on it and just they're excited

[57:50] about it

[57:53] and often on the bus route they they

[57:55] sing some songs about the

[57:57] Bible one of the songs they sing is I

[58:00] believe the Bible I believe the Bible I

[58:03] believe the Bible is the word of

[58:07] God one is an older song get the new

[58:12] look from the old book get the new look

[58:16] from the

[58:17] Bible get a new look from the old look

[58:20] get a new look from God's word the

[58:22] inward look the outward look the upward

[58:25] look from the the old old

[58:27] book get the new look from the old book

[58:30] get the new look from God's word when's

[58:33] the last time you gave it a

[58:37] look not just as pages and words but as

[58:42] the mirror of God and you look to see

[58:47] where you were

[58:48] at when was the last time you dove into

[58:51] the treasure

[58:52] chest and said look at this nugget I

[58:58] found look at this golden truth that God

[59:01] had for me look at this diamond

[59:05] here all throughout the pages of the

[59:07] word of God it's more sure it's a solid

[59:11] foundation the life we live may have

[59:14] difficult moments but we've got our

[59:19] Bible hold on to

[59:22] it this Bible that I hold in my hand was

[59:25] given to to me um in the first nursing

[59:29] home Ministry I was involved

[59:32] in an old scoffield

[59:35] Bible the cover got worn off and torn

[59:38] off I had the cover read

[59:41] H this Bible

[59:44] Edition was printed in

[59:53] 1945 when as I read it I see all the

[59:56] truth that's in it there's a couple

[59:59] special

[60:01] Pages because the lady who gave it to me

[60:04] wrote a couple

[60:06] notes on some of the things that God had

[60:08] taught her and God had shown

[60:10] her I enjoy reading

[60:13] it and seeing the notes that she wrote

[60:16] down how God spoke to her

[60:21] heart one of these

[60:24] days the Lord parries and Rapture

[60:28] doesn't happen and my father goes home

[60:30] to be with the

[60:31] Lord when his first Pastor it they gave

[60:35] him a

[60:37] Bible but

[60:41] 1982 the church he took as a pastor it

[60:44] gave him a

[60:46] Bible as a gift as their

[60:49] Pastor he still has that

[60:52] Bible it's been recovered a couple times

[60:55] in the last Rec covering was used a

[60:58] piece of leather from Goodwill from a

[61:00] leather jacket he found at Goodwill he

[61:03] cut out the leather so it's

[61:05] soft you grab it it just it just Falls

[61:08] open brother

[61:10] Canton I don't know how it's still held

[61:13] together but page after page and line

[61:16] after line chapter after chapter there's

[61:19] a messages and thoughts and thing

[61:23] written all throughout

[61:26] and I enjoy seeing those

[61:29] marks there's places in this one I've

[61:33] started underlining verses in the study

[61:35] Bible I have has writings from all the

[61:38] times that God spoken into my heart or

[61:40] shown me something through the word of

[61:41] God and I've jotted it down right there

[61:44] to remember

[61:45] it brother scooter jokes with me at

[61:48] times and says preacher I had your whole

[61:50] outline here before you

[61:53] started he's been here long enough heard

[61:56] a message or two that's had the same

[62:00] outline but tonight the word of God's

[62:04] precious how precious is it to you the

[62:07] word of God is powerful how powerful is

[62:10] it in your life the word of God has

[62:12] preserved are you hanging on to it is it

[62:15] precious to

[62:17] you tonight you may just need to thank

[62:22] God for your Bible

[62:27] you can hold it you can read

[62:30] it the Holy Spirit can guide you through

[62:56] maybe this week you struggled reading
