[0:00] I was asked if I wanted to represent Alabama in a really cool thing called
[0:04] 50 x 50 Science Across America. Basically, there's 50 videos being made, one from
[0:10] every state, about a really cool scientist doing really cool science in that
[0:14] location. I think it's awesome. So, being from Alabama, we have the nuclear plant
[0:19] nearby, so this video is about how a nuclear reactor works, and we're going to
[0:23] get to interview a really cool guy named Bill, it's awesome. So, if you want to see
[0:27] some of the other cool stuff that's happening all across America, to celebrate
[0:30] 250 years of America, you can do that by going to the link down in the video
[0:34] description after this video, and go check out some of the other states and some of
[0:38] the cool stuff that's happening. I'm proud to represent the South, this is a pecan
[0:42] tree, which is why I set my camera up here, and, I'm excited about the stuff
[0:46] that's happening here in Alabama, and I'm excited to learn more about the stuff
[0:49] that's happening in other states. Let's go learn about a nuclear reactor.
[0:53] Hey, it's me, Destin, welcome back to Smarter Every Day. I've got all these
[0:56] boxes here at the house of all the different things that I've made videos of,
[1:02] this one, you might remember, this is Uranium, and, you might remember this guy,
[1:08] a fast neutron, these are little tools that we use to understand the concepts
[1:14] of nuclear power. So basically, we- we hit this thing, and we talked about how like-
[1:19] Uranium was kind of like a mousetrap and it would like throw off anot
