[0:00] The meal with salad and baked potato has only 4.5 grams of fat and 289 calories. It's so good.

[0:08] Baked right, priced right. That's seafood's new attitude. And skippers, what'll bring you back?

[0:15] Joycelyn Elders makes one too many controversial remarks at 11.

[0:19] Make a fair. We're on entertainment tonight.

[0:27] Nicole's family is closing ranks and opening up on Geraldo.

[0:31] Let's make a show now. Let's make a show.

[0:33] Dangerous action for a Star Trek star with an insatiable lust for supersonic speed.

[0:38] Take the bar back, Michael.

[0:40] Plus, which Dennis Hopper is which and a Santa without a clause?

[0:44] This is Entertainment Tonight for Friday, December 9th, 1994.

[0:56] Hi, I'm Lisa Givens. Mary Hart is off today.

[0:59] I'm Pat O'Brien. John Tesh is on vacation.

[1:01] And Bob Goen is just a little busy today.

[1:04] Bob has some things he's working on today.

[1:06] Bob and his wife Sabrina just had their little baby boy.

[1:09] Max was born. Everybody's doing great.

[1:12] This guy was so excited. I've never seen him so nervous when he left to go to the hospital.

[1:17] So I imagine he's not getting much sleep. We're real happy for you. Congratulations.

[1:20] Congratulations.

[1:22] On is the key word in the media's trial of the century.

[1:25] O.J. Simpson is on trial. The tabloids are on alert.

[1:28] The entire Brown family is on Geraldo.

[1:31] Ladies and gentlemen, from the youngest to the oldest, here is the Brown family.

[1:36] Nicole Brown Simpson's sisters and parents, who once shied from the camera,

[1:40] now seem to be embracing it.

[1:42] The audience will undoubtedly give you a very, very warm welcome.

[1:45] As Rivera prepped the Browns backstage, the seriousness of the topic was replaced with levity.

[1:51] The shy, gorgeous redhead.

[1:54] Shy?

[1:56] Just formally shy.

[1:58] Shy?

[1:59] When it was time to tape, the family joined Rivera in prayer.

[2:02] Try to lighten guard, to rule and guide, amen.

[2:05] Amen.

[2:06] All right.

[2:06] Every this day I was going to say, every this night.

[2:08] All right.

[2:09] Let's make a show now.

[2:10] Let's make a show.

[2:10] Let's go.

[2:13] In the audience, there was a real connection with the Brown family.

[2:16] They really think of the Browns now as heroes, as people who are bringing forward this crusade,

[2:21] and it was a wonderful, wonderful feeling.

[2:23] The Browns were here to talk about their new foundation for battered women, named in honor

[2:28] of Nicole.

[2:29] During the taping, a number of donations were made to the foundation, including one from

[2:33] a group of poor women living in a shelter for the abused.

[2:36] They came together, and they are on welfare, and they do have food stamps, but they did

[2:40] come together, and we wanted to give you a check for $100.

[2:43] Aw, that's nice.

[2:50] Geraldo himself came across with $10,000 to help the family build a playground for the

[2:55] children of battered women.

[2:57] Build a playground, Luke.

[3:01] It was a great show.

[3:03] You made it very good.

[3:04] You made it very nice.

[3:05] The appearance so pleased the family that Nicole's mother has promised more.

[3:10] It was beautiful.

[3:11] It was really beautiful.

[3:12] I'm so happy now.

[3:17] That episode of Geraldo talking with the Brown family will be broadcast Monday.

[3:22] Since 1969, television viewers who were tired of soaps and sitcoms and game shows where everything

[3:27] doubles and things get zany, viewers who had it up to here with shows like that always knew

[3:32] there was an alternative over on PBS.

[3:35] Beware.

[3:36] The government may be about to pull that plug.

[3:41] Each week, more than 46 million people tune into PBS shows like the McNeil-Lair NewsHour,

[3:46] Nova, and Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood.

[3:47] But on his conservative cable TV show, incoming House Speaker Newt Gingrich told viewers it's

[3:52] time to slash federal funding for public television.

[3:55] One of the things we're going to do this year, I hope, I'm going to certainly try to have

[3:58] done, is to zero out the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which has been in taxpayers'

[4:03] money.

[4:03] PBS.

[4:04] PBS, public broadcasting.

[4:05] Richard Carlson of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting says Gingrich's plan would

[4:09] devastate his network.

[4:11] It will probably sink a lot of small stations.

[4:14] The large stations will survive.

[4:15] They'll just have to operate on less.

[4:17] But there'll be less services, less community involvement, and less of the kind of programming

[4:21] that Americans have become used to on public broadcasting.

[4:26] Even though PBS airs programs like Masterpiece Theater, conservatives have long objected to

[4:31] spending taxpayer money on public television.

[4:34] South Dakota Senator Larry Pressler says it's time for changes.

[4:37] If we could make it into a private entity, it could raise maybe more money than it presently

[4:42] has.

[4:42] But TV critic Tom Shales says those worried about PBS funding are misguided.

[4:46] The solution is certainly not to make it even poorer than it is, to cut out more funding,

[4:52] to cause them to come on the air and beg even more often for money.

[4:56] That would be a huge mistake.

[4:57] Now, Newt Gingrich is on record as saying that the Republicans are the only real Americans.

[5:03] Meanwhile, political pundit Mark Russell is already figuring out more ways to work Gingrich

[5:07] into his act.

[5:08] I do political humor on public television, so I see Gingrich's move as a threat to abolish

[5:16] all future federally funded Newt Gingrich jokes.

[5:19] I pledge allegiance to the Newt now.

[5:25] Congress has already agreed to provide PBS with about $300 million for 1996, but after

[5:31] that, public broadcasting's political funding future is uncertain at best.

[5:35] In the spirit of the holidays, model citizens are making their presence known, reaching

[5:39] into their own pockets to help others.

[5:41] The E.T. Gazette discovered the holiday spirit has stars shopping till they drop in the name

[5:46] of the needy.

[5:47] Oh, these are good.

[5:49] Tis the season to help others, and the Gazette followed supermodel Vendela, talk show host

[5:53] Jerry Springer, and Sarah Jessica Parker, as they wielded a shopping cart to collect food

[5:57] for hungry children in Haiti.

[5:59] We don't have enough room.

[6:00] We should have a whole cart of formula.

[6:02] It's really important.

[6:02] And we should have a whole cart of baby food.

[6:04] Here's what we're going to do.

[6:05] I'm going to go and get another cart, because I'm good at that.

[6:07] The three are heading up the Audrey Hepburn Hollywood for Children food drive in Manhattan.

[6:11] They left Leiter in the wallet.

[6:12] Well, I was using Phil Donahue's credit card, so I feel fine.

[6:16] No, I mean, the truth is, it's nothing.

[6:19] And we can do this every time we shop.

[6:21] And enriched in spirit.

[6:23] We could get everybody in this town today to give a can of something.

[6:27] That would be unbelievable.

[6:28] So I hope that a lot of people are watching this and are going to, you know, start giving.

[6:33] At least, you know, even if it's just one little thing, it adds up.

[6:36] Great.

[6:37] Thank you.

[6:38] Thank you so much.

[6:39] Thanks.

[6:41] Next, catch a ride with Star Trek Commander Warp.

[6:44] What do you say?

[6:46] Take the barf bag, Margo.

[6:49] Also, it's deja vu for this jolly old Saint Nick.

[6:52] He sets hearts afire just in time for the holidays.

[6:55] Then, what the heck is Dennis Hopper talking about?

[6:58] I get the girl, more or less, in this one.

[7:01] And she's not dead for a change.

[7:05] I am not going to get it.

[7:08] Are you okay?

[7:09] Yeah, no way am I going to get it.

[7:11] I'm going to fight it.

[7:13] I'm not going to get it again this year.

[7:15] You don't look so good.

[7:16] When the tough gets sick.

[7:18] I've got the flu.

[7:19] The sick get tough with Tylenol Flu.

[7:21] The only one that combines the strongest flu medicines with extra strength Tylenol brand pain reliever

[7:26] to relieve your flu symptoms fast.

[7:28] I'm not getting sick.

[7:29] I'm not getting the flu.

[7:30] So get tough on your flu with Tylenol Flu.

[7:33] Try a new nighttime formula, too.

[7:36] Two miles straight up in 2.2 seconds.

[7:39] Entertainment Tonight takes you there.

[7:41] Next.

[7:44] Everybody's looking for value nowadays.

[7:45] Me, too.

[7:46] But you know, just because something cheap doesn't mean it's the best value.

[7:50] We use good cuts of meat and Jimedee and sausage, so when you cook it, it doesn't all cook away.

[7:55] Now, that's value.

[7:57] Taste that country goodness.

[7:59] Honey, if you'll put a new roof on the house, I'll make you a bagel.

[8:04] A bagel?

[8:05] Can a bagel be rewarding?

[8:07] It can if it's got Smucker's Simply Fruit Spread on top.

[8:10] Smucker's makes it special.

[8:11] Because with a name like Smucker's, it has to be good.

[8:14] For holiday parties, what's the easiest way to serve a delicious buffet to your guests?

[8:19] Just call the Safeway Party Order Hotline.

[8:22] 1-800-SAFE-WAY.

[8:24] For the freshest seafood to the most mouth-watering desserts.

[8:28] Nobody makes the holidays easier.

[8:30] So make the call for beautiful hors d'oeuvres, heaping platters of cold cuts and cheeses, and everything you'll need to make your party special.

[8:38] For the easiest holiday parties, just call the Safeway Party Order Hotline.

[8:42] 1-800-SAFE-WAY.

[9:00] Set your spirit free.

[9:05] Wings for Women.

[9:07] And now Wings for Men.

[9:08] By Giorgio Beverly Hills.

[9:10] 3 gifts in one.

[9:11] Just $50.

[9:13] Available at Meijer & Frank.

[9:15] How long is your gift list?

[9:17] Want to cut it down to size?

[9:19] Then come to Pay Less Drugs.

[9:21] You'll find a big selection of toys, health and beauty gift baskets, cameras and film to capture the fun.

[9:27] Stock up on ever-ready Energizer batteries for cameras or toys at the holidays.

[9:32] Just $3.99 a pack.

[9:33] Polaroid 600-plus instant film for instant fun.

[9:36] Now just $9.99.

[9:38] And everything you'll need to wrap those special gifts.

[9:41] So be a holiday hero this season.

[9:43] Come to Pay Less Drugs.

[9:46] Sir, the implosion has produced a level 12 shockwave.

[9:50] As part of the Star Trek crew, Lieutenant Commander Worf soars through the stars in the Enterprise.

[9:54] But in real life, actor Michael Dorn loves to spend his free time flying around in his own authentic military jet.

[10:03] I guess you could describe me as a major jet junkie.

[10:08] It's a very strong airplane.

[10:09] It's built like a tank.

[10:11] Practically bulletproof.

[10:12] You really can't do anything to it.

[10:14] And it flies like a Cadillac.

[10:17] But if Michael's plane is like a Cadillac, he's come to Travis Air Force Base in California to test drive a Ferrari.

[10:24] Actually, it's an F-16D fighter jet.

[10:26] Michael is really pumped.

[10:28] So you want the E-ticket ride?

[10:30] The E-ticket ride, yeah.

[10:31] To work out?

[10:32] Yes, I do.

[10:33] This would be fun.

[10:36] I say, take the barf bag, Michael.

[10:39] It's not macho to throw up.

[10:40] Everybody does it occasionally.

[10:42] And you kind of think, oh, boy, maybe I better do it.

[10:45] Along with the barf bag, Michael needs to be fitted with some other accessories, like a G-suit, so he doesn't faint while he's flying.

[10:51] I'm going to try and keep as much of the blood up in your upper body and chest as possible without letting it flow down to your feet and pooling your feet.

[11:09] You have a good flight, and I'll see you in about an hour.

[11:10] Thank you very much.

[11:12] With Thunderbird pilot Mike Major leading their mission, the two take off over two miles up in a matter of seconds.

[11:21] You look at the altimeter.

[11:23] 12,000 feet.

[11:25] Wait a minute.

[11:25] Five seconds, 12.

[11:27] This thing's really going fast.

[11:39] You're trying to make me dizzy.

[11:41] Michael, being the jet junkie that he is, was allowed to take over the controls, and he took the opportunity to try out a very tough maneuver.

[11:49] Does it possible to try that vertical roll?

[11:51] Okay.

[11:57] You hear the vertical roll, you come up, and if you go over the top, you do it like you see your own little trail coming down.

[12:02] Look good.

[12:03] Ladies and gentlemen, Michael is doing it.

[12:05] Good morning.

[12:05] You working out there, sir?

[12:07] Oh, yeah.

[12:07] Good morning.

[12:11] The whole flight was a highlight.

[12:12] I mean, really, the low level and up high and the high G turns and everything was just, doesn't go the best ride I've ever had.

[12:22] Wow.

[12:22] Our daredevil, Dorn, does get grounded occasionally.

[12:25] Producers make him sign a contract saying he won't fly while working.

[12:29] During that time, Dorn says every time he hears a plane fly by, he gets a little airsick, but in a good way.

[12:35] Dennis Hopper has had his share of daredevil parts over the years, his ratio playing bad guys is about 10 to 1, so when he finally gets one of those juicy white knight roles, does he take it seriously?

[12:46] Obviously, we'll go on a little witch hunt to find out if he and his new co-star, Penelope Ann Miller, can stir up a little E.T. magic.

[12:55] You may need to take notes to follow the plot of the HBO comedy mystery witch hunt, so pay attention.

[13:00] In it, Hollywood is overrun by witches and magic.

[13:03] An overblown movie studio boss is hexed and murdered, and gumshoe Dennis Hopper is hired by his starlet widow, Penelope Ann Miller, to solve the crime.

[13:11] I told you once I don't know anything.

[13:14] Now, you don't know at all.

[13:16] You know something.

[13:17] You're part of this.

[13:19] I'm coming up in this part right here.

[13:21] Oh, yeah.

[13:23] We went on location to find out more.

[13:26] It's actually a satire on the McCarthy hearings, and there's a senator who, uh, Eric Boghossian plays, who feels, uh, that magic is un-American, and the magicians have infiltrated the motion picture business, and the best thing to do is to find them and burn them at the stake.

[13:42] It's sort of a political satire, Hollywood satire.

[13:46] We get to make fun of Hollywood and politics all in one little package.

[13:51] I put a spell on you.

[13:54] It was apparent Dennis and Penelope liked working together, even when their lines didn't always come easy.

[13:59] You're not kidding about that.

[14:01] You can say that again.

[14:03] What is the line?

[14:04] You're telling me.

[14:06] I was three out of, two out of three.

[14:09] And director Paul Schrader had his hands full.

[14:11] He had to coach Penelope into becoming just another bad B-movie actress.

[14:15] I told her to just think acting.

[14:19] To go against everything she's been trained to do.

[14:21] I want to be seen.

[14:25] I just basically got to act badly, which was a lot of fun.

[14:29] Not that I don't always act badly, but I hope I don't.

[14:32] So, it was a stretch.

[14:35] You can't get away.

[14:36] Drop the gun.

[14:37] Come and get it.

[14:40] And it was no less a challenge for Hopper.

[14:43] Witch Hunt finally gives him a chance to play a fairly normal character, and not his patented psycho.

[14:48] It's a straight part.

[14:49] I get the girl, more or less, in this one.

[14:53] And she's not dead for a change.

[14:56] That's a joke.

[15:03] Classic Hopper.

[15:04] Witch Hunt debuts Saturday night on HBO.

[15:06] You know, when the gang at Dr. Quinn decorated a couple of 12-foot trees for a holiday episode,

[15:10] Jane Seymour didn't want them to go to waste.

[15:13] The beautiful props will be auctioned off tomorrow to raise money for City Hearts,

[15:16] a charity for homeless kids, but not before they make their debut in tonight's coming attractions.

[15:24] Merry Christmas.

[15:27] Happy Hanukkah.

[15:29] Celebrate the holiday's 1800s style on tomorrow's Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman.

[15:33] Jane Seymour actually decorated the Christmas tree herself with the same kinds of ornaments used 100 years ago.

[15:39] Except for one thing.

[15:41] I was asking them why we didn't have popcorn on it, but the option is plastic popcorn,

[15:47] because apparently we have a serious problem with rats.

[15:50] The Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman Christmas episode airs tomorrow night on CBS.

[15:55] John Walsh from America's Most Wanted hosts Fox Smart Kids,

[15:58] a primetime special that focuses on how families can fight back against problems facing children today.

[16:04] So many kids carry guns to school.

[16:06] There's so much physical and sexual abuse.

[16:08] You see it in the headlines every day.

[16:10] And I think that kids have the right to know.

[16:13] Fox Smart Kids airs tomorrow night on Fox.

[16:16] The new Entertainment Weekly divulges a little disclosure a couple of reporters experienced for themselves.

[16:21] The magazine sent two writers, one male, one female, to the Seattle set of the movie,

[16:26] and he says she got the favorable treatment from the stars.

[16:30] As far as I was concerned, all three were the same, to me anyway.

[16:35] One of us had a great time in Seattle and one of us didn't, I guess.

[16:38] The He Said, She Said Entertainment Weekly hits newsstands Monday.

[16:44] And later in the show, we try to stop him, but our own Leonard Maltin gives his own candid disclosure.

[16:51] Great gift-giving, it only takes three things.

[16:54] Time, money, and ideas.

[16:56] So I go to the store I'm at all the time anyway, because Fred Meyer always saves me time.

[17:01] You know you're going to save money, and look at these great ideas.

[17:04] You'll find gifts that are romantic, or practical, things that are useful, or the little luxuries that tell them they're special.

[17:13] Accessories, accents, gift sets, in every kind of price range.

[17:17] That great holiday gift, you'll find it at Fred Meyer.

[17:22] Merry Christmas!

[17:23] One season that brings the world together.

[17:27] Merry Christmas!

[17:28] To raise a glass and share a meal.

[17:30] To welcome friends with open arms.

[17:33] Congratulations to everyone with Christmas!

[17:35] Open hearts, open houses.

[17:38] A door with holiday decorations.

[17:40] Joyeux Noël!

[17:41] Plates and glasses, ornaments, cheer.

[17:44] Gala Christoyena!

[17:45] As festive as they are affordable.

[17:48] Holiday entertaining from Cos Plus.

[17:53] It's time for the McDonald's Holiday Film Fest.

[17:57] Featuring great movies like Field of Dreams.

[17:59] If you build it.

[18:00] Back to the Future.

[18:01] This is it!

[18:02] The Land Before Time and Fievel Goes West.

[18:05] Each just $5.99 with a purchase of any large sandwich or extra value meal.

[18:09] And each video includes a mail-in rebate offer for Jurassic Park.

[18:13] Available at video outlets nationwide.

[18:15] So enjoy this special time of goodwill toward men.

[18:19] And cats.

[18:22] Is a mother's love strong enough to break the laws of heaven and earth?

[18:26] He's here!

[18:27] Did you see him?

[18:28] I saw Jamie.

[18:29] I'm in ghosts.

[18:30] I love you, Bobby.

[18:32] This isn't my imagination.

[18:34] I've lost my son!

[18:36] I don't want to lose you too!

[18:38] He's come back!

[18:40] He's come home!

[18:41] Now, you will decide for yourself.

[18:45] Emmy winners Marlo Thomas and Peter Strauss.

[18:49] Reunion.

[18:50] Sunday.

[18:58] The remake of Miracle on 34th Street is generating renewed interest in the classic original, nearly five decades old now.

[19:05] The movies have more in common than just the touching story.

[19:08] Meet a jolly old Saint Nick who's doing duty with his bag of goodies in both the new and old version.

[19:14] You know my assistant Alfred, Mr. Bacy.

[19:17] Merry Christmas, Alfred.

[19:18] Mr. Bacy.

[19:19] Mr. Shellhammer.

[19:19] In 1947, a 16-year-old boy named Alvin Greenman landed his very first role, playing an aspiring department store Santa in Miracle on 34th Street.

[19:28] When I give packages to little kids, I like to watch their faces get that Christmas look all of a sudden.

[19:36] Nearly 50 years and countless bit parts later, he can be seen in the film's remake, playing a doorman.

[19:41] Good evening. Taxi, please.

[19:43] Certainly.

[19:44] But this Christmas, Alvin, who makes his living as a script supervisor on Hearts of Fire, gets one of the best presents he could have ever wanted.

[19:51] When was the last time I had this on?

[19:53] Unnatural for old Saint Nick, in both girth and disposition, Alvin was asked by producers to suit up his Santa for the show's Christmas episode.

[20:01] Doesn't this look great?

[20:05] This is my favorite thing in the world.

[20:10] How does that look?

[20:15] This is called applying the wig, folks.

[20:17] I feel like Carmen and Maya with spit curls.

[20:21] Ready to roll.

[20:22] Alvin was so convincing, he barely made it to the set.

[20:25] I already know what I want, but I want to keep it.

[20:29] It's very sentimental for me because I always enjoy it, except for this stuff.

[20:34] This is terrible.

[20:35] This is really, really hot and terrible.

[20:37] On a bell, please.

[20:40] Alvin has one line to deliver.

[20:42] Elliot's done good things for children.

[20:44] I really appreciate that.

[20:46] I dig it the most.

[20:49] Elliot's done good things for other people.

[20:50] I really dig that.

[20:52] I really appreciate that.

[20:53] I dig it.

[20:54] Elliot's done good things for other people.

[20:56] I really dig it.

[21:00] I dig that.

[21:01] One more time.

[21:01] I really dig that.

[21:03] Elliot's done good things for other people.

[21:06] I really dig that.

[21:08] Cut.

[21:10] The finished product plays like a dream.

[21:13] A short dream.

[21:14] Elliot's done good things for other people.

[21:17] I really dig that.

[21:19] Cast members bought this Santa hook line and sinker.

[21:22] Alvin is our Santa Claus.

[21:23] He truly is our Santa Claus.

[21:25] In fact, he fits so nicely into the suit that we bought it for him,

[21:27] and we've asked him to wear it until Christmas, and he said okay.

[21:29] You see, I have nothing to offer to them.

[21:31] That's the best news I've had all day.

[21:38] Merry Christmas.

[21:39] Merry Christmas, E.T.

[21:42] Very convincing.

[21:43] The Heart the Fire holiday episode airs Saturday night on CBS.

[21:47] Incidentally, back in 1947, when the original miracle debuted,

[21:51] Alvin's fondest moment was being named Child Actor of the Year,

[21:54] right alongside a young Natalie Wood.

[21:57] All right, the moment we've all been waiting for.

[22:00] Leonard Moulton is here to disclose his real thoughts on sex in the workplace.

[22:04] Leonard, Douglas, and Demi, what do you think?

[22:07] Well, I'll tell you, Pat, I didn't read Michael Crichton's novel, Disclosure,

[22:10] but I had the impression that it was all about a sexual harassment lawsuit

[22:13] with the twist of a man as victim.

[22:16] Michael Douglas and Demi more in the leading roles of the movie

[22:18] seem to make it a slam dunk.

[22:20] Well, it is.

[22:21] But Disclosure isn't just about sexual harassment.

[22:24] It's really a high-tech, high-gloss corporate thriller.

[22:28] Douglas' controversial lawsuit is just one facet of the story.

[22:31] Get down to business.

[22:33] Wait a minute.

[22:35] Wait a second.

[22:37] Michael Douglas is dependably good,

[22:39] though I couldn't help thinking,

[22:41] haven't we seen him play this exact same kind of part before,

[22:44] perhaps a bit too often?

[22:46] Demi Moore is also well cast as a corporate shark,

[22:48] but it's the gallery of supporting players,

[22:50] not all of them well-known,

[22:52] who add color and credibility to this engrossing tale.

[22:55] Sexual harassment is not about sex.

[22:59] It is about power.

[23:01] I really enjoyed Disclosure.

[23:03] It's a very entertaining story

[23:04] and extremely well plotted, like a good mystery,

[23:07] so you never quite know where it's going next

[23:09] or how it's going to get there.

[23:10] It had me going from start to finish.

[23:13] And that's why I'm giving this movie

[23:14] the hotly contested check.

[23:18] Check this out.

[23:19] Disclosure has barely opened in theaters,

[23:21] but it's already causing controversy.

[23:23] And coming up this weekend on Entertainment Tonight,

[23:26] we'll disclose what it's all about.

[23:28] The way they want to shape it

[23:29] is to say that women are dangerous in business,

[23:32] that women behave the way men do,

[23:34] that white men are under attack,

[23:36] and that women are the problem.

[23:37] And it could be...

[23:39] No, it is so different from that.

[23:41] Hollywood fiction or reflection of reality.

[23:43] The real-life truth inside Disclosure,

[23:46] this weekend on Entertainment Tonight.

[23:50] It takes control of you.

[23:51] You pretty much have no choice.

[23:53] You don't even have a chance to stop and think.

[23:56] Everybody's just buying anything and everything

[23:59] they can get their hands on.

[24:01] Just total madness.

[24:07] Gary.

[24:14] I don't think people understand

[24:15] until they get here,

[24:16] and then they know exactly what we talk about

[24:18] when we call it a frenzy.

[24:20] When I agreed to this motherhood thing,

[24:22] nobody told me I'd be doing everything in triplicate.

[24:25] Around here, nothing's quick or easy.

[24:28] Except for my U.S. West Direct yellow pages.

[24:30] It's got an index in the back

[24:31] to find the right heading.

[24:33] And when I need something right away,

[24:35] like an ear doctor,

[24:36] it's got these specialty guides.

[24:38] I use my yellow pages all the time now.

[24:40] It's quick.

[24:41] It's easy.

[24:42] Daddy's who!

[24:43] And it's there when you need it.

[24:46] The one that gets used.

[24:48] U.S. West Direct.

[24:51] He's a big old Lion King.

[24:54] But you play it on a computer.

[24:56] This holiday season,

[24:57] the tale of the Lion King unfolds in a whole new way.

[25:00] What do you want to do?

[25:01] Do that one.

[25:02] An unusual storybook

[25:03] whose pages are filled with things to do.

[25:05] Bones that are going dun, dun, dun.

[25:07] And discover.

[25:08] And then the water comes flying down.

[25:10] Where a child can help save the Bridelands.

[25:12] And a cub can grow up to be king.

[25:14] Disney's animated storybook,

[25:16] The Lion King,

[25:17] for your computer on CD-ROM.

[25:21] Air travel furnished and a promotional fee paid by Delta Airlines.

[25:24] Delta and the Delta Connection offer over 4,900 flights a day to over 300 cities worldwide.

[25:29] You're not the way we fly.

[25:31] Promotional fee paid by 1-800-COLLECT.

[25:34] Dial it instead of zero and save people money when you call them collect.

[25:37] 1-800-COLLECT.

[25:38] Be politely.

[25:40] Call collect.

[25:40] Let's have an more.

[26:08] The Wonderful World of Disney, 40 Years of Television Magic.

[26:12] Isn't that long?

[26:13] Get the kids right this second to check it out as we close out our week

[26:16] with a medley of great Disney moments just for you.

[26:20] Can't wait to meet you, little Max Goen.

[26:22] Bye for now.

[26:23] So long.

[26:38] Bye for now.

[27:04] When you wish upon a star

[27:11] Makes no difference who you are

[27:18] Anything your heart desires

[27:24] Will come to you

[27:33] If your heart is in your dreams

[27:40] No request is too extreme

[27:44] When you say the word Disney to me, it brings to mind

[27:47] You can't

[28:04] On this program, a bit of magic

[28:07] That's what the show is all about

[28:24] Like a Magnavox forehead VCR for $199
