[0:05] Tonight on Night Line, high stakes. It

[0:07] was all eyes on Sarah Palin's

[0:09] performance at tonight's vice

[0:11] presidential debate. Did she rise to the

[0:13] occasion? Moment of truth. We're live in

[0:16] St. Louis with the verdict on Palin

[0:18] versus Biden. So, who won and who might

[0:21] have hurt their presidential candidate?

[0:23] And the grades are in. George

[0:25] Stephanopoulos is back to score

[0:27] tonight's faceoff in the Night Line

[0:29] Report Card

[0:31] >> from the global resources of ABC News

[0:33] with Martin Basher and Cynthy Mcbaden in

[0:36] New York City and Terry Moran at the

[1:02] with so much pressure on her. The vice

[1:04] presidential debate that ended here at

[1:05] Washington University a little while

[1:07] ago, was so eagerly anticipated. Would

[1:10] Palin somehow collapse into incoherence

[1:12] or ignorance on that stage, as the

[1:14] parodies and some pundits predicted?

[1:16] Would Joe Biden run off at the mouth or

[1:18] commit some dreadful faux paw? Well, in

[1:21] the end, this turned out to be a pretty

[1:22] normal debate. Substantive, not terribly

[1:25] revealing, tightly structured and

[1:27] formatted with polite, open-ended

[1:29] questions, giving both candidates plenty

[1:31] of opportunities to fall back on

[1:33] scripted responses and stump speeches.
