[0:00] for over 10 years now I've been teaching
[0:02] and coaching thousands of people and I
[0:05] found that even the smartest people get
[0:08] fixated on certain limiting beliefs that
[0:11] keep coming up in whatever they're
[0:13] trying to
[0:16] achieve in this video I want to share
[0:19] the most common and the most damaging
[0:22] limiting beliefs I constantly encounter
[0:25] in people I work with I'm willing to bet
[0:27] you've bought into at least one of these
[0:29] before and maybe even now then I'll tell
[0:32] you how to change these beliefs so that
[0:34] they serve you instead of hurting
[0:38] you there's a built-in bias in the human
[0:41] brain that more is better this is the
[0:44] bias that leads us to buy more apps
[0:47] download more templates consume more
[0:49] content thinking that if we just
[0:51] accumulate enough things will get better
[0:54] the reality is more stuff usually just
[0:58] creates clutter spense and complication
[1:02] in our lives consuming more content is
[1:05] usually honestly just a form of
[1:07] procrastination it's a way to avoid the
[1:09] fear that we feel of taking the next
[1:12] most important step I can still remember
[1:14] when this limiting belief showed up for
[1:15] me most tangibly it was 2014 and I had
[1:19] just received my first big break as a
[1:21] writer I was asked to do a writing
[1:23] residency and write five long form
[1:26] articles for a popular blog called
[1:28] ribbon farm and what happened is I felt
[1:30] like okay I really have to do this
[1:32] perfectly and for that first article I
[1:34] spent over 50 hours meticulously
[1:38] researching every possible Source
[1:40] reviewing hundreds of different notes
[1:42] and what happened next was really
[1:44] interesting
