[0:00] You've done everything [music] right.

[0:01] You gave the AI all the information it

[0:04] needed. You wrote what you thought was a

[0:06] good prompt, and the answer [music] came

[0:08] back generic, surface-level. The problem

[0:11] isn't in your prompt. It's in the

[0:14] context you're giving, or more

[0:17] specifically, [music]

[0:18] not giving it. In this video, I'm going

[0:21] to give you a name for that [music]

[0:23] skill,

[0:24] the three layers it operates on, and the

[0:26] identity that comes with practicing

[0:28] [music] it well.

[0:32] For 10 years now, I've been teaching

[0:34] personal knowledge management. [music]

[0:37] It's a system for preserving and then

[0:39] resurfacing your best [music]

[0:41] knowledge. But, AI has completely

[0:44] changed who's reading it. Your notes

[0:46] >> [music]

[0:46] >> are no longer just for you. They're also

[0:49] now inputs to an AI [music] system that

[0:52] can act on your behalf. This practice

[0:55] has a name. It's called personal context

[0:58] management, PCM. [music] And it's not

[1:00] just about cultivating human knowledge

[1:02] anymore. It's about cultivating the

[1:04] right context [music] so that AI can do

[1:08] meaningful work on your behalf.

[1:11] PCM operates on three different layers.

[1:14] Layer one is persistent [music] context.

[1:17] This is where you tell the AI who you

[1:19] are, the stable, durable, long-term

[1:22] details

[1:23] >> [music]

[1:23] >> that inform every single interaction

[1:26] with AI. Your role, your values, your

[1:29] communication preferences.

[1:31] The aspects of your work and your life

[1:33] that inform [music] practically

[1:34] everything you do. This all lives in

[1:36] what I call your master prompt, which is

[1:38] stored in your personal preference
