[19:21] hear and not just here but to be doers

[19:34] and Jesus is talking about the danger of

[19:39] professing professing Without Really

[19:42] believing and not truly being

[19:45] saved he just warned them about false

[19:48] teachers and about the false prophets

[19:51] there and then he talks about people

[19:53] that have no

[19:55] fruit then he goes into a false

[19:58] profession

[19:59] so false

[20:00] teachers false fruits false

[20:06] profession we started where we started

[20:11] today because the Lord has put a burden

[20:13] on my heart to

[20:15] consider this morning that not

[20:20] everyone that attends

[20:23] church is

[20:25] saved not everyone who's

[20:29] religious is

[20:31] saved not everyone who says Jesus is

[20:36] Lord is saved there has to come a moment

[20:40] of Salvation in your

[20:43] life there has to be that

[20:46] moment and if we're not careful we can

[20:49] look at verse

[20:50] 21 and we can

[20:53] assume that we have to work to be saved

[20:58] let's look at verse 21 not everyone that

[21:00] saith unto me Lord Lord shall enter into

[21:02] the kingdom of heaven but he that doeth

[21:05] the will of My Father which is in heaven

[21:08] oh that's it I gotta I got to perform in

[21:10] order to achieve salvation I got to do

[21:13] God's will in order to be saved well

[21:15] that's not what the reference there is

[21:17] talking about it's not about a work in

[21:21] order to be saved but God does have a

[21:24] will it's found very clearly Illustrated

[21:27] for us in first Timothy Chapter 2 and

[22:08] God's Wills verse three tells us this is

[22:10] good and acceptable in the sight of God

[22:11] and our savior who God's will will have

[22:15] all men to be saved and to come unto the

[22:19] knowledge of the truth it is God's will

[22:22] for all people to be

[22:26] saved all people God desires for all

[22:30] people to be

[22:31] saved all people are

[22:34] sinners all people need a

[22:37] savior Jesus is the savior for all

[22:41] people it's his will for all men to be

[22:43] saved and come to the knowledge of the

[22:45] truth verse five tells us there's one

[22:48] God and one mediator between God and Men

[22:50] the man Christ Jesus it's God's will for

[22:55] all to be saved you're not saved because

[22:57] you attended Baptist Church you're not

[23:00] saved because you grew up in a religious

[23:02] family you're not saved because you got

[23:05] baptized you're not saved because you do

[23:07] good works you are saved because there

[23:09] was a moment in your life when the Holy

[23:11] Spirit convicted your soul and you

[23:14] realized you needed to be saved Romans

[23:17] tells us for all have sinned and come

[23:19] short of the glory of God there is none

[23:23] righteous no not one you say well I'm a

[23:27] good person

[23:29] according to whose standard well I'm

[23:31] better than

[23:32] most does that get you to heaven the

[23:35] answer is no there's only one way John

[23:38] 14:6 you said I am the way the truth and

[23:40] the life no man cometh unto the father

[23:42] but by me you can't be a good person and

[23:46] get work your way to

[23:47] heaven getting baptized will not get you

[23:50] there Ephesians chapter 2:9 says for by

[23:53] grace are you saved through faith and

[23:55] that not of yourselves it is the gift of

[23:56] God not of works lest any man should

[24:00] boast it's not about us it's about him

[24:04] so we ought to remember the will of God

[24:07] is for all to be saved and come into the

[24:10] knowledge of the truth so audience

[24:12] participation this morning look to the

[24:15] person beside you and say it's God's

[24:17] will for you to be

[24:19] saved thanks for participating some of

[24:22] you didn't but that's okay thanks for

[24:24] participating those who

[24:26] did the person next to you may be

[24:28] slightly offended that you didn't tell

[24:30] them that it was God's will for them to

[24:31] be saved but that's

[24:33] okay but it is God's will for everybody

[24:35] that's breathing to be saved did you

[24:38] know the Bible says also in Hebrews that

[24:40] supp pointed a man want to die and after

[24:42] that the Judgment everybody's got an

[24:44] appointment with death everybody in here

[24:47] that's breathing has got an appointment

[24:50] with

[24:51] death and that Day's coming now the only

[24:55] way your appointment gets

[24:57] interrupted is is if you're a Believer

[24:59] the Rapture of the church would take you

[25:01] out before your death appointment how

[25:04] many of you would rather go with the

[25:05] upper taker than the

[25:08] Undertaker taken up in the Rapture

[25:10] amen so not everyone that saith unto me

[25:38] works and he can Empower people to do

[25:42] false works in the name of

[25:46] Jesus you don't believe me just turn on

[25:53] be in the name of Jesus who have no

[25:56] relationship with God at all

[26:00] careful and then we get to verse number

[26:02] 23 and we hear this statement that no

[26:05] one wants to hear from God depart from

[26:08] me I never

[26:11] knew you don't want to hear God say that

[26:13] to

[26:15] you I'd rather hear him say Well done

[26:18] thou good and faithful Serv than depart

[26:21] from me I never knew

[26:25] him so after he's talked about false

[26:28] prophets and false teachers and after

[26:31] he's talked about false fruit and after

[26:32] he's talked about false professions of

[26:35] Faith he comes to verse 24 and he says

[26:38] therefore whosoever heareth these

[26:40] sayings of mine and doeth them I will

[26:42] liken him unto a wise man which built

[26:45] his house upon the

[26:47] rock verse 26 everyone that heareth

[26:50] these sayings of mine and doeth them not

[26:52] shall be likened unto a foolish man

[26:59] so there's some things that are in

[27:02] common in verses 24-

[27:05] 29 with the foolish man and the wise

[27:09] men now let's look back so you get it

[27:26] heard they both heard they had the same

[27:31] teacher they both

[27:33] heard and in this case they both heard

[27:40] Jesus you can be wise or you can be

[27:45] foolish it's your

[27:47] choice so they both heard the

[28:38] foolish man the foundation is the

[28:41] key in other words listen a wise person

[28:44] and a foolish person can build their

[28:51] wrong destruction will come so they both

[28:54] build also something interesting look at

[28:57] verse 24

[29:09] floods came and the winds blew and beat

[29:11] upon the house

[29:13] stop common things they both heard they

[29:17] both built they both had

[29:23] storms but something happened

[29:24] differently

[29:28] the wise

[29:30] man his house responded differently

[29:34] because of the foundation it was built

[29:37] upon his house stood the foolish man had

[29:43] a different choice for his foundation

[29:45] the sand and his house

[29:48] fell so based upon obedience to the

[29:54] word

[29:56] determines what what Foundation you

[29:59] build

[30:01] upon wise or

[30:04] foolish there's two

[30:08] foundations so let let's rewind our

[30:14] brains now that we've heard the

[30:17] introduction let's

[30:19] consider what this has for us

[30:23] today if you're taking notes number one

[30:26] the truth of God with without

[30:28] application to your life is

[30:32] foolish the truth of God without

[30:36] application to your life is

[30:41] foolish both of them heard the same

[30:45] teacher one didn't apply it our text

[30:48] says he didn't do

[30:51] it pretty simple he didn't apply it to

[30:54] his life listen you are a foolish person

[30:58] if you hear the truth of God and you

[31:00] don't apply it to your

[31:02] life so let's rewind back and look at

[31:05] verses 21 through 23 and that

[31:07] illustrates for us the truth of God's

[31:09] word is that all men be saved and come

[31:11] into the knowledge of the truth if you

[31:12] choose not to be saved you'll spend

[31:15] eternity in

[31:17] hell if you choose not to be saved you

[31:20] will spend eternity in hell it is God's

[31:22] will for all men to be saved and come

[31:24] knowledge of the truth for all have Sinn

[31:25] and come short of the glory of God God

[31:27] commendeth his love toward us and that

[31:28] while we were yet sinners Christ died

[31:30] for us the face you looked at in the

[31:32] mirror this morning that's who Jesus

[31:33] died for and that's who he wants to see

[31:35] in heaven with him but you get the

[31:38] choice and if you choose no you say nope

[31:41] I'm not going to do that I'm not going

[31:43] to

[31:44] believe that Jesus died for me I'm not

[31:47] going to believe that he can forgive me

[31:49] of my sins I'm not going to believe it

[31:50] then you're

[31:52] foolish I didn't just say it the Bible

[31:54] says

[31:56] it foolish will spend eternity in Hell

[32:00] let's apply it shall we the truth of

[32:03] God's word without application of your

[32:06] life is foolish but if you apply it it

[32:07] would be

[32:09] wise for God so loved the world that he

[32:11] gave his only begotten son that

[32:13] whosoever believeth in him shallal have

[32:16] everlasting

[32:17] life for with the heart Romans 10 with

[32:20] the heart man believeth under

[32:21] righteousness with the mouth confession

[32:22] is made into

[32:24] salvation so we

[32:26] believe we believe we get a foundation

[32:29] on a rock the rock is Jesus Peter said

[32:33] it Thou Art the Christ Jesus respon Palm

[32:36] this rock I will build my church the

[32:39] foundation is Jesus the person it's not

[32:43] a religion it's not a tradition it's a

[32:45] person of Jesus so if you apply God's

[32:49] word the truth of God is he wants you to

[32:51] be

[32:52] saved God doesn't hate you he loves

[32:55] you God doesn't S people to hell they

[32:59] choose to go

[33:01] there he has a gift he offers a gift the

[33:06] only way you don't get the gift is if

[33:07] you reject the gift but salvation's

[33:10] offered to all so the truth of God's

[33:13] word without application has

[33:16] implications for where we'll spend

[33:17] eternity with heaven or hell but the

[33:20] truth of God's word without application

[33:22] to your life will produce a Unholy

[33:26] life if you don't obey the the word of

[33:28] God you'll live an Unholy

[33:30] life but if you obey the word of God

[33:32] you'll live a holy life he tells us be

[33:36] ye holy for I am

[33:38] Holy he gives us instructions on life if

[33:42] we apply the truth of God's word to our

[33:45] life we will live a life pleasing to God

[33:49] if we choose not to apply it live an

[33:51] Unholy

[33:54] life if you choose not to apply the

[33:56] truth of God

[33:59] you will struggle with

[34:01] life you'll struggle with life life will

[34:04] overtake

[34:06] you you will be like the foolish man

[34:08] when the storms come you'll get washed

[34:11] away but if you apply the truth of God

[34:15] to your life you'll have

[34:21] comfort in

[34:23] stormes didn't say you'd have comfort in

[34:26] life you'll have comfort in

[34:29] storms because of who your foundation

[34:32] is you'll still have difficulty but

[34:36] there's comfort in Jesus in fact God

[34:38] describes him he's the God of all

[34:41] comfort and he Comforts us through the

[34:44] power of the Holy Spirit the truth of

[34:46] God without application to your life is

[34:49] foolish and it will not alter your

[34:51] life if you ignore what God says you can

[34:54] go through the motions and live however

[34:56] you want to live

[34:58] but the truth of God with application to

[35:00] your life will be life

[35:02] altering you'll be

[35:04] different because of your relationship

[35:06] with Jesus

[35:08] Christ another thing to consider is this

[35:11] is that God is the

[35:14] authority said he spoke as one of having

[35:17] Authority and not as Des scribes God is

[35:19] the one with the

[35:20] authority not

[35:23] us not us he's the one with authority

[35:28] so we think about these foundations this

[35:30] morning the two foundations that are

[35:33] here the opportunity to build

[35:36] everybody's got the

[35:38] opportunity the opportunity to choose

[35:41] everyone has the choice the opportunity

[35:44] to be a wise man or a foolish man or a

[35:47] wise woman or a foolish woman lies with

[35:50] you it's your choice you get to choose

[35:55] God or yourself one writer put it this

[35:58] way there's only two choices on the

[35:59] Shelf pleasing God or pleasing self

[36:03] there only two choices you're either

[36:06] living for him or you're living for

[36:08] you so let's talk about it this morning

[36:11] in our lives

[36:12] today as we consider the foundation your

[36:15] life is built

[36:18] on you have to

[36:20] inspect the

[36:25] foundation who do you run to and

[36:27] troubling

[36:29] times who do you call out to in

[36:32] troubling

[36:34] times 10 out of 10 people go through

[36:36] Stormy

[36:39] Lives life is difficult life is hard but

[36:43] life with Jesus is

[36:45] better life with Jesus is

[36:49] better so the amazing thing about you

[36:51] and I is that we get the opportunity to

[36:55] choose

[36:58] what Foundation we build

[37:00] upon but your choice of

[37:05] foundation the Bible describes you as

[37:07] either wise or foolish based upon your

[37:10] choice of

[37:15] foundation so if we came by your

[37:19] life and we asked

[37:22] you what's the

[37:24] foundation of how you're going to heaven

[37:27] what would your answer

[37:30] be well I got

[37:33] baptized I I've done good works I I hope

[37:37] you would say my Foundation is

[37:40] Jesus I'd hope you say my Foundation is

[37:45] Jesus I I hope you would understand that

[37:48] he's the only way he's not a way he is

[37:51] the only way to get to heaven your

[37:54] foundation is in Jesus

[37:58] so we've talked about our Salvation the

[38:01] foundation of our Salvation what's the

[38:02] foundation for your life how you live

[38:04] your life is it how you feel or what the

[38:08] word of God says what's your

[38:11] foundation for how you live your life

[38:14] when you're dealing with problems in

[38:15] your life what's your

[38:18] foundation what is your life built

[38:23] upon who's the authority in your life is

[38:26] it you

[38:28] or is it

[38:29] God one of the amazing things about our

[39:25] spouse we could ask your parents

[39:31] friends are they a biblically wise

[39:33] person or they live the foolish

[39:39] life examine your own heart

[39:43] today are you a wise person or a foolish

[39:48] person the truth of God without

[39:51] application to your life is foolish

[39:58] think about the statement the truth of

[40:00] God without application to your life is

[40:04] the foolish

[40:07] life so what the word of God

[40:10] says is not just to be

[40:13] heard but it's to be obeyed and

[40:21] practiced are you with me this morning

[40:48] foolish

[40:50] life sir if you're not following the

[40:53] word of God for your personal walk with

[41:01] God and the way God describes you to

[41:03] lead your home as a married man you're

[41:27] God God for your practical everyday

[41:37] fool anchor into the

[41:41] foundation build your life Upon Jesus

[41:47] Christ every day dig deep into his

[41:51] word every day spend more time weaving

[41:55] your life into Jesus

[42:01] choice you can have all the things you

[42:04] need to live the life God

[42:08] wants and still not

[42:13] do imagine that you got problems in your

[42:17] marriage word of God describes for you

[42:19] how to deal with it God gave you the

[42:22] resource for

[42:23] it you've read the verses

[42:27] you've heard it and you still choose not

[42:30] to do it what are you doing you're a

[42:34] fool God gave you everything you need

[42:37] for life and you still choose not to do

[42:38] it you're playing the part of the

[42:42] fool what did the Bible say about fools

[42:45] the fool has said in his heart there is

[42:47] no

[42:49] God say well I'm saved why are you

[42:52] acting like the

[42:54] fool hello

[42:57] because if we truly believe there is one

[42:59] God and that he's Lord Of Our Lives we

[43:02] ought to live that

[43:04] way and if you're not living that way

[43:07] you're participating in the life of the

[43:10] fool why would you do

[43:13] that it makes no sense to live the

[43:17] foolish

[43:19] life when you know

[43:24] better but how many times

[43:28] how many times have all of us in the

[43:30] room done that very

[43:33] thing we have played the part of the

[43:35] fool we have lived the foolish life

[43:39] because we sat on the throne of our

[43:41] heart instead of letting God it became

[43:44] all about us and our wants and our

[43:46] desires and not about

[43:50] him and we were acting like foolish

[43:55] people because

[43:57] we pretended that there is no God even

[44:02] though we

[44:03] believe our Behavior doesn't match our

[44:09] belief if you believe that Jesus died

[44:11] for Sinners say amen amen if you believe

[44:14] that Jesus saves Sinners say Amen if you

[44:17] believe that Jesus saved you say

[44:20] Amen if you believe that Jesus should be

[44:23] Lord in your life

[44:27] before you say

[44:28] Amen consider your

[44:32] behavior this

[44:33] week because your walk talks and your

[44:36] talk talks but your walk talks louder

[44:43] conversation of Life speaks

[44:49] volumes speaks

[44:52] volumes of whether we're right with God

[44:56] or at enity with God in other words a

[45:10] God sometimes in our

[45:16] life we can get to a

[45:18] point that we know it is right we know

[45:23] that we should we know that we ought

[45:27] but yet we

[45:32] don't the god of heaven looks down at

[45:37] us with loving

[45:40] eyes and merciful eyes and says come

[45:45] back come

[45:47] back come

[45:50] back

[45:52] don't stay away from God

[45:59] one of the characteristics of God

[46:01] described in his word is he's immutable

[46:03] which means he's never

[46:06] changing he's immutable it's always the

[46:10] same so when

[46:15] change from what we know to do we know

[46:19] what is right and we choose not to do it

[46:22] God doesn't move but we move away from

[46:24] him

[46:31] step in our relationship with God he

[46:34] wants us to go forward for

[49:29] just have to be out of step in our focus

[50:27] that's a dangerous place to be because

[50:31] him that knoweth to do good and doeth it

[50:35] not to him it is sin and sin affects

[50:41] your prayer life sin affects your walk

[50:43] with God sin will affect your married

[50:46] life sin will affect your parent life

[50:49] sin will affect your relationship with

[50:50] others sin has drastic effects one

[50:53] writer said it this way sin will take

[50:55] you farther than you want to go it'll

[50:57] keep you longer than you want to stay

[50:58] it'll cost you more than you want to pay

[51:01] that's what sin will do in your

[51:06] life but you can be religious you can go

[51:08] through the motions if you're not

[51:10] careful you'll get out of

[51:13] step out of step with

[51:16] God and it starts by losing

[51:21] focus I used to teach little kids a

[51:25] lot I would say this to them all right

[51:28] everybody look up here eyeballs and

[51:31] their response was to go click as their

[51:33] eyeballs clicked onto me say eyeballs

[51:35] click and they click their eyeballs and

[51:38] look at me I knew they were paying

[51:39] attention if they didn't say click and

[51:41] they were still staring off in the world

[51:44] I'd say come on now eyeballs on

[51:46] me click and then they' finally look at

[51:48] me and I'd pay

[51:49] attention had another teacher who would

[51:52] say one two three eyes on me and the

[51:55] kids would respond on one two eyes on

[51:59] you you know what sometimes I think God

[52:01] needs to look at us say hey one two

[52:06] me because most of us are going through

[52:08] life not paying attention to him we've

[52:11] lost our focus on him it's all about us

[52:16] and our desires and our wants and God's

[52:19] looking down from heaven and he's saying

[52:28] look Hebrews described it this way for

[52:52] foolish life you're living the foolish

[52:58] so which one are you today the wise or

[53:05] foolish every believer ought to live the

[53:11] life how do we do it the truth of God
