[0:00] Cody's might have Claude code beat here.
[0:02] With the release of the brand new
[0:03] experimental goals feature, Cody's is
[0:05] now the easiest way to execute
[0:07] long-running autonomous coding tasks
[0:10] without having to include any sort of
[0:12] additional orchestration layers. Goals
[0:14] acts like a more sophisticated
[0:16] integrated route loop. You give it some
[0:18] sort of objective and it will work for
[0:19] potentially hours upon hours to solve
[0:22] that problem without you needing to
[0:24] intervene at all. And today, I'm going
[0:26] to show you how it works, how you can
[0:27] set it up, and we'll go through a real
[0:30] demo so you can see this thing in
[0:31] action. So today, we'll be creating Rift
[0:33] Salvage, our 2D combat video game that
[0:36] uses completely original assets and that
[0:39] we build strictly through goals. The
[0:42] goals feature is one of the real
[0:43] differentiators with Cody's right now
[0:45] and it is hilariously simple to use.
[0:47] We're talking about a single slash
[0:48] command. So there's a ton of value to be
[0:50] had here. So whether you're using the
[0:52] Cody's desktop app or the Cody's CLI,
[0:54] you have to enable goals because it's an
[0:56] experimental feature. Now you can prompt
[0:59] Cody's to do that or you can do it
[1:00] yourself very quickly. Inside of the
[1:02] Cody's app, I'm just going to go to
[1:04] settings and then I am going to go to
[1:06] configuration.
[1:09] Right here where it says open
[1:11] config.toml, I'm going to click that.
[1:13] Going to open it up in VS code. And down
[1:16] here, you need to add two lines if it's
[1:18] not already there. Features and then
[1:20] goals equal true.
[1:22] That's it. It should take you like 2
[1:24] second
