[0:00] Howdy and welcome to the Cowboy Up
[0:01] podcast brought to you by the legendary
[0:04] White Scion Ranch and the shadow of the
[0:05] Tucson Mountains along with Base Camp
[0:08] for Veterans in the West. Cowboy Up is
[0:10] more than a saying. It's a way of life
[0:12] defined by grit, hard work, and
[0:14] self-reliance. And that courage is the
[0:16] heart of the mission of Base Camp for
[0:18] Veterans. This podcast is dedicated to
[0:20] honoring the Cowboy Up spirit. We are
[0:23] the only show bringing you true western
[0:25] adventure and history while showcasing
[0:27] the profound healing that happens when
[0:29] our nation's heroes connect with the
[0:31] power of horses. Join Russell TR,
[0:34] Deborah Plum, Theo Wendish, and Steven
[0:36] Clawson as we share tales from the range
[0:38] and powerful stories of resilience, all
[0:41] working towards one goal while helping
[0:43] everyone to cowboy up for the next
[0:45] chapter of their lives.

[0:59] which I am so excited about, uh, Dr.
[1:02] Alan Hamilton. And before I bring him
[1:04] on, uh, joining me today is someone who
[1:07] brings a truly rare perspective to
[1:10] trauma recovery, resilience, and brain
[1:13] health. Dr. Alan Hamilton is a Harvard
[1:15] trained neurosurgeon, researcher, and
[1:17] author of Zenmine, Zenhorse, as well as
[1:21] a leading voice in the Younger Next Year
[1:23] series, which I have personally used and
[1:26] totally recommend. What makes Dr.
[1:28] Hamilton's work so compelling is how he
[1:30] bridges two seemingly opposite worlds,
[1:33] the highstake
