[0:00] good morning Bible Baptist Church family
[0:03] it's Monday and it's time for the word
[0:05] of encouragement I want to thank you for
[0:07] tuning in today and looking forward to a
[0:09] great start off to our week excited
[0:13] about this week we're gonna be looking
[0:14] at the book of Philemon this week and so
[0:17] today we're gonna look at the first five
[0:19] verses of Philemon and so the Bible says
[0:22] Paul a prisoner of Jesus Christ and
[0:24] Timothy our brother and to Philemon our
[0:27] dearly beloved and fellow laborer and to
[0:30] our beloved epiphan and archippus
[0:32] our fellow soldier into the church in
[0:34] thine house grace to you and peace from
[0:38] God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ
[0:40] I thank my god making mention of the
[0:43] always in my prayers hearing of thy love
[0:46] and faith which thou hast toward the
[0:49] Lord Jesus and toward all saints very
[0:54] excited about this week and looking
[0:56] forward to sharing with you what God has
[0:59] in store for us from the book of
[1:00] Philemon again Philemon is a fellow
[1:03] servant of Paul and he is a Pallas in
[1:07] prison it's one of their prison epistles
[1:09] and he writes him he explains to who
[1:13] he's writing to in verse number one he
[1:15] says Paul a prisoner Jesus Christ
[1:16] Timothy our brother unto Philemon our
[1:20] dearly beloved and fellow laborer and to
[1:23] our beloved epiphan archippus our fellow
[1:25] soldier and to the church that's in that
[1:27] house so those people that are listed
[1:29] there and then Paul gives a greeting as
[1:31] he did a mini of his letter grace to you
[1:33] and peace from God our Father and the
[1:35] Lord Jesus Christ and then verses verse
[1:39] number four and he says this I thank my
[1:42] god making mention of the always in my
[1:46] prayers I want to encourage you this
[1:48] morning as we look at the Apostle Paul
[1:51] and directing the letter to Philemon and
[1:53] we'll get into the rest of the letter as
[1:55] the week goes on that can you say this
[1:58] about other people in your life could
[2:01] you talk to one of your friends from
[2:03] church to one of your fellow laborers to
[2:06] one of the people that's a beloved of
[2:08] you could you talk to them and
[2:10] say this statement that the Apostle Paul
[2:13] did I think my God for you hopefully you
[2:17] can't and that you make mention of them
[2:20] always in your prayers I'm very thankful
[2:24] for some people in my life and I'm not
[2:27] gonna mention them this morning but
[2:29] there are some people that I know every
[2:32] single day make mention of me and my
[2:37] family in their prayers and I'm so
[2:38] thankful for that I'm very thankful for
[2:41] the people who I know I could call it
[2:45] anytime and give them a prayer request
[2:47] that's upon my heart and they would take
[2:49] it to the Lord on my behalf
[2:51] very thankful for people who pray and
[2:54] seek the Lord on a daily basis you ought
[2:58] to pray and I ought to pray and as I
[3:01] always look at my prayer life I always
[3:02] feel this I can always do better I could
[3:05] always do more so this week I'm gonna
[3:09] challenge myself to take time out of my
[3:13] day and make a list of people that I can
[3:18] pray for it and so I do that already but
[3:23] I'm going to focus extra time this week
[3:26] on praying for one another talk to some
[3:29] folks yesterday
[3:30] and talk to them about the situation of
[3:34] life that they're in and made mention to
[3:37] them that you know everyone is different
[3:39] in their response to this Kovan 19 some
[3:43] people are very cautious and there's
[3:45] underlying reasons for that and we need
[3:48] to be respectful of their thoughts and
[3:50] their desires other people may think
[3:53] that you know I I don't think this is as
[3:56] bad as everybody's making it out to be
[3:58] and we need to respect their thoughts
[4:00] and and their desires but both of those
[4:03] groups of people should not express any
[4:07] animosity toward one another in fact if
[4:10] anything we should pray for one another
[4:11] and so I want to challenge you this week
[4:15] let's start the week off right let's
[4:17] start Monday let's make a list of people
[4:20] that we can pray for and make mention of
[4:23] the
[4:23] always everyday in your prayers and so I
[4:28] want a challenge to make a list now you
[4:30] don't have to have an exhaustive list of
[4:32] every person who attends your church you
[4:35] don't have to do that but I would seek
[4:37] the Lord and ask him for some names some
[4:41] certain people to pray also if the Lord
[4:44] would direct you you may send them a
[4:46] message give them a phone call and say
[4:49] hey is there anything in particular that
[4:51] I can pray for you about this week and
[4:54] ask them if there's something that you
[4:58] can make you mention Oh on their behalf
[5:01] to the Lord
[5:02] their prayer requests that you will pray
[5:04] with them this week and make mention of
[5:07] then verse number five will be our last
[5:09] verse of the day Paul says that he hears
[5:12] of thy love and thy faith which thou
[5:15] hast toward the Lord Jesus and toward
[5:18] All Saints oh I love the Lord I've heard
[5:23] many people say that I love the Lord but
[5:26] does your love for the Lord to get
[5:27] expressed to other people because if you
[5:31] love him you'll love one another because
[5:35] God loves people and he wants his people
[5:40] to love people so could we write and a
[5:45] letter to you address it to you and
[5:50] would there be a statement in that
[5:52] letter that says I have heard of your
[5:55] love for God and your love for people if
[6:00] not let's work on that this week let's
[6:04] work on loving God more and loving
[6:07] people again let me challenge as we go
[6:11] throughout our week we're starting off
[6:13] Monday let's start it off on the right
[6:15] foot with a great time together as we
[6:18] look at the book of Philemon so two
[6:19] things today are you making mention of
[6:23] people in your prayers and secondly
[6:26] would your love be expressed that that's
[6:30] been heard of and seen by other people
[6:34] if not let's work on that this
[6:37] if it's true of you praise the Lord
[6:40] keep up the good work but again thank
[6:43] you for tuning in to the word of
[6:45] encouragement have a wonderful day and
[6:47] we'll see you next time right here on
[6:51] the word of encouragement have a great
[6:54] day
