[0:01] The country's top three-year-olds go

[0:02] after a $1 million bonus in the final

[0:04] jewel of the Triple Crown. It's the

[0:06] Belmont State live Saturday on ABC's

[0:09] Wide World of Sports.

[0:11] Kids volunteering to help others as a

[0:13] requirement for graduation. Sounds

[0:15] great, so why are people trying to stop

[0:17] it? Watch Peter Jennings on ABC's World

[0:19] News Tonight next week.

[0:22] >> And we're back with Max Cleland, Leon

[0:24] Weasel here, and Clarence Paige. Max, I

[0:26] know you wanted to respond to what Leon

[0:27] said a moment ago. Yeah, I I I think

[0:30] that we're taking our eye off the ball

[0:32] here when we see the flyovers tomorrow

[0:34] or this weekend or in any of the parade

[0:40] It's not the trucks. It's not the

[0:52] to go into combat. That's what we're

[0:55] celebrating is the courage of young

[0:57] Americans to defend this country when

[0:59] they're called upon. Now, I went through

[1:01] a different era. I came back to what we

[1:04] Vietnam veterans call the second wound.

[1:07] And this nation doesn't need to inflict

[1:10] that on this young group of young

[1:12] Americans here. We need to make sure

[1:15] that we don't inflict a second wound.

[1:17] And I think that that goes to the heart

[1:19] of why these kind of parades are

[1:21] justified. But

[1:23] >> yeah, go ahead, ma'am.

[1:24] >> I don't think we're we're hardly in any

[1:25] danger of inflicting a second
