[0:00] You may know him from One Tree Hill,

[0:02] Gilmore Girls, or Freaky Friday, but you

[0:04] may not know that actor Chad Michael

[0:06] Murray is a dyed in the blue Buffalo

[0:08] Bills fan, and he's showing his love for

[0:10] the team, the city, and their fans in a

[0:13] new docu series.

[0:16] [music]

[0:19] >> In Buffalo,

[0:22] >> loyalty isn't a choice.

[0:25] >> You know, they've taken some tough

[0:27] losses.

[0:29] The world has embraced Will's mafia.

[0:33] >> Yeah, they're like a happy crazy.

[0:35] >> I'll give up chicken [music] wings

[0:36] forever for just Super Bowl.

[0:38] >> This year is going to be our year.

[0:41] >> Buffalo is [music] the city of family.

[0:44] >> Buffaloonians have a heart of gold.

[0:47] >> Where else would you rather be

[0:51] than right here, right now?

[0:54] I want to build for this city.

[1:02] I love it already. All right, Chad

[1:03] Michael Murray joins us right now. Chad,

[1:05] thank you so much for your time. So, you

[1:07] grew up in Buffalo and the Bills are

[1:09] four and one, so they're doing pretty

[1:11] good this year. But tell us what it's

[1:12] like growing up in Buffalo during some

[1:14] pretty dark years for the Bills.

[1:18] >> Well, I think, you know, grow for me, I

[1:20] think our really dominant years, uh, you

[1:23] know, 90 through 94 when the Bills were

[1:25] in four straight Super Bowls. Yeah, we

[1:26] lost four Super Bowls, but those were

[1:28] the years where I really became part of

[1:30] this culture and this this uh this

[1:33] Bill's Mafia now that we call it,

[1:35] >> it's ingrained in my childhood and we

[1:37] grow up living and dying every Sunday.

[1:39] And for them, the 17-year drought, most

[1:41] of the time dying, but now to have the

[1:44] resurgence of the Bills and the team and

[1:46] our new ownership and Josh Allen and uh

[1:49] a lot of winds, it's just really brought

[1:51] all of that wonderful feeling, the

[1:53] nostalgia, the the chaos of the

[1:55] tailgates all back.

[1:57] >> Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. So, what is the

[1:59] meaning of the title Just One Before I

[2:01] Die? And why did you want to make this

[2:03] series?

[2:05] So, it's it's it's been something that

[2:07] we've we've said for a long time. One

[2:10] championship before we die. There's so

[2:12] many people.

[2:14] >> I mean, look, my mother my mother raised

[2:17] us uh and she since passed away, but

[2:20] that's all she wanted. She wanted one

[2:22] Super Bowl. I remember when I was a kid,

[2:25] uh my grandfather passed away on uh it

[2:28] was a Monday night game against the

[2:30] Denver Broncos.

[2:31] >> Mhm. and my mom said he died while

[2:34] sleeping and that it was crying because

[2:36] the Bills lost. Like

[2:38] >> I know I know I know. So it's like

[2:41] there's just some real true passion and

[2:44] love for this team and it goes along

[2:46] with the city and there's just a bond

[2:48] that can't be broken there and we really

[2:50] we really wake up and and just love

[2:53] everything about the city and this team.

[2:55] So making this documentary just felt

[2:57] like the best next step. M and so this

[3:00] movie is all about the fans kind of like

[3:03] your parents and you and no one loves

[3:05] the fans more than Josh Allen. So what

[3:07] is it like to have an MVP quarterback

[3:09] but someone who also really cares about

[3:11] the city of Buffalo?

[3:14] >> I Josh is our guy, you know, uh Josh is

[3:19] an incredible human being and he is the

[3:21] perfect quarterback for this city.

[3:24] He is that bluecollar, tough as nails,

[3:29] get check in early, check out late kind

[3:31] of guy that will give everything, give

[3:33] you the shirt off his back and then and

[3:35] and do the work. And he doesn't need the

[3:36] attap of boys. That's not the way the

[3:39] the Buffalo people are, right? They dig

[3:42] out their neighbors, but they don't

[3:43] expect anything in return.

[3:45] >> They, you know, raise money for

[3:47] different charities over the years in in

[3:49] in different fashions. And it's not

[3:51] because they're trying to get the outer

[3:52] boys. They just do it because of the

[3:53] love. Josh does it for the love of the

[3:55] game and the love of his fans and the

[3:57] love of the sport and and those fans. We

[3:59] just do it for the the passion, the love

[4:01] that we have.

[4:02] >> I love that. I love that. Okay. So,

[4:03] we've got a quick rapidfire set of

[4:05] Buffalo questions for you. Are you

[4:07] ready?

[4:08] >> All right. So, [laughter] Okay. Barill's

[4:10] Gabriel's Gate or Doc Sullivan's for

[4:13] wings.

[4:14] >> Uh, I'm going to go with Barbell.

[4:18] >> Okay. Okay. So, have you ever had ranch

[4:21] with your wings?

[4:22] >> No. [laughter]

[4:25] >> I'm ashamed to say that I have, though.

[4:27] I do think it's kind of delicious. But

[4:29] >> I think that there's something different

[4:31] about our blue cheese in Buffalo

[4:33] >> that makes it so addicting. And you have

[4:35] to go blue cheese over wrench. I don't

[4:37] come to our neck of the woods and try it

[4:39] out.

[4:39] >> All right. All right. That sounds

[4:40] delicious. So, I definitely will. So,

[4:41] where do you tailgate? Hammer lot or big

[4:44] tree in with the water buffalo club?

[4:47] I've been to both. However, we do our

[4:50] own thing with my brother and we do this

[4:53] big old uh tequila pickle shot. It's

[4:56] great. Kick it through the

[5:00] >> We we we do our own thing and then we

[5:02] kind of yonder through the lots.

[5:04] >> Oh, okay. So, finally, dark or milk

[5:07] chocolate sponge candy?

[5:10] >> Dark for me?

[5:11] >> Dark.

[5:12] >> I'm going to go with milk chocolate, but

[5:13] dark, you know, dark sounds good, too.

[5:16] The milk chocolate's my mortal enemy. So

[5:18] I

[5:19] >> I don't know. We just don't agree with

[5:21] each other.

[5:22] >> Delicious. It It's just so good.

[5:25] >> Okay. Okay. So, we cannot let you go

[5:27] though without asking because everyone

[5:28] here wants to know when will there be a

[5:31] One Tree Hill reboot. Is that possible?

[5:34] [laughter]

[5:35] >> You know what? Your mouth to God's ears,

[5:37] right? Your mouth God's ears. I think

[5:39] that there's an absolute hunger for it

[5:42] and uh only time will tell. If the right

[5:44] story comes out at the right time and

[5:46] people want to see it, the hunger's

[5:48] still there, then we'll we'll we'll

[5:49] bring it for you.

[5:50] >> Well, a lot of people in the newsroom

[5:51] apparently want to see it. So fingers

[5:53] crossed there. [laughter]

[5:55] Just One Before I Die premieres October

[5:59] you so much for your time today. We

[6:01] appreciate it. Thank you.
