[0:06] this apartment complex is divided into
[0:09] two major facilities the one in the
[0:11] lower part of the Hill which had 42
[0:13] units with approximately 100 tenants
[0:16] that's the one that suffered the major
[0:17] damage that you see in the background
[0:19] this is up north of Los Angeles the
[0:21] epicenter as you say is up around uh the
[0:24] North Ridge area this is a highway that
[0:26] completely collapsed uh and right now we
[0:29] want to join uh our owned and Affiliated
[0:31] station KCBS with live coverage of this
[0:34] earthquake that happened at 4:31 Pacific
[0:36] time this morning but from the first
[0:38] Aftershock and the fortunate thing is
[0:40] that since these buildings did go down
[0:42] in part that it happened when most
[0:45] people were so scared they were already
[0:46] outside of the building otherwise it
[0:48] would have obviously been much much
[0:50] worse here and we are going on to
[0:52] plumber Boulevard right now if you can
[0:53] take a look at this building it's
[0:55] another building that was spared no
[0:57] mercy from this Quake again just
[0:58] completely buckled closed down the force
[1:01] of this is just really incredible and
[1:04] one of the things that I find
[1:05] particularly striking uh as Linda just
[1:09] said that you know everybody in the city
[1:10] seems affected to some degree but
[1:12] driving around the valley um everybody
[1:15] is affected very directly by tragic but
[1:17] you see it coming you can take some
[1:19] precaut
