[0:01] Autumn after a rough winter. What's left
[0:03] behind? Potholes. Why this year is worse
[0:06] than ever and what they're doing to fix
[0:08] it. And Deep Secret, the inside look at
[0:11] what could have sunk America's first
[0:13] attack submarine in the Civil
[0:17] War. From NBC News World Headquarters in
[0:21] New York, this is NBC Nightly News with
[0:24] Tom Bro. Substituting tonight, Brian

[1:21] orders. What up, Mr. Mather? In China, a
[1:25] flurry of diplomatic activity. US
[1:27] officials meet for a second time with
[1:28] the entire crew, then phone President
[1:31] Bush at the White House. I talked with
[1:33] General
[1:34] Seelock, who once again visited with our
[1:37] crew for about an hour
[1:39] today and reports that they
