[0:00] When likely place for Soviet submarines,
[0:02] I'm sure they would pitch in and rescue
[0:04] these men. But the Russians have been
[0:06] pretty open about that kind of thing
[0:07] recently by the way. They returned part
[0:09] of what was apparently the Apollo 9
[0:11] lunar module Bob Ron referred to
[0:13] earlier. They returned that to us a few
[0:14] weeks ago.
[0:16] Assuming the C-130 affects the rescue
[0:18] and the para-rescuemen jump,
[0:21] they can they could theoretically stay
[0:23] with that capsule for a day or even more
[0:25] until a ship came by. Is that right? And
[0:28] we're talking Jim in any case of a
[0:30] landing no sooner than Thursday

[0:50] Let's pause now for 5 seconds so our
[0:52] stations may identify themselves.

[1:14] morning close I close on on 5:00 a.m.
[1:17] on this emergency day this emergency
[1:19] morning for Apollo 13.
[1:21] The worst of the emergency would seem to
[1:23] be over at this point.
[1:25] The LEM the lunar module's descent
[1:27] propulsion system engine has been used
[1:30] to change the trajectory of Apollo 13
[1:32] and get this two spacecraft headed back
[1:35] into a free return trajectory
[1:39] the moon
[1:41] at about 9:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time
[1:43] tonight and then a second burn will be
[1:45] done to speed up their return toward the
[1:47] Earth.
[1:48] We're hearing the
