[0:40] tonight. I'm Anthony Mason. The

[0:42] continuing fallout from the Enron affair

[0:44] is tarnishing both the president and

[0:46] Congress. According to a CBS News New

[0:49] York Times poll out tonight, while the

[0:51] president's popularity remains high, two

[0:54] out of three Americans now believe the

[0:56] administration is hiding something in

[0:58] the Enron case. 75% of those polled say

[1:01] Congress is influenced too much by big

[1:03] business.

[1:04] Americans also believe Enron is not an

[1:07] isolated case. 70% say the accounting

[1:10] practices that led to Enron's collapse

[1:12] are widespread.

[1:14] Meanwhile, in Houston today, the death

[1:16] of former Enron executive Clifford

[1:18] Baxter was officially ruled a suicide.

[1:21] Maureen Maher has the latest.

[1:24] >> As the investigation continues into what

[1:26] drove a former Enron executive to

[1:28] suicide, a conflicting picture is

[1:30] emerging of Clifford Baxter. Friends say

[1:33] he was a good man.

[1:35] >> These people in the center of this

[1:36] horrible story

[1:38] have a life and a parent family and a

[1:41] conscience, too.

[1:44] force to be reckoned with at the

[1:46] embattled energy compan
