[0:10] kurick and good evening everyone it was
[0:12] an extraordinary day in our nation's
[0:14] capital the president of the United
[0:16] States calling to the White House the
[0:18] two men battling to succeed him to deal
[0:20] with a national crisis and on Capitol
[0:23] Hill negotiators working on a bailout
[0:25] package to keep the financial system
[0:27] from collapsing they're still hammering
[0:29] out the det details but Congressional
[0:31] leaders reached agreement on what they
[0:33] say the deal must include minimizing the
[0:35] risk to taxpayers strong oversight of
[0:37] the bailout Program help for homeowners
[0:40] in danger of foreclosure and the $700
[0:43] billion cost of the rescue would come in
[0:45] installments again tonight we have
[0:47] extensive coverage beginning with Bob or
[0:50] on Capitol
[0:52] Hill three hours before Senators Obama
[0:55] and McCain even arrived for the White
[0:56] House Summit Capitol Hill negotiators
[0:59] announced a tenative deal we've reached
[1:01] a fundamental agreement on a set of
[1:02] principles but that apparent
[1:04] breakthrough did not Sidetrack the high
[1:06] powerered photo op the president sitting
[1:08] at the same table with the two men who
[1:09] want his job once again pressed for
[1:12] final passage of the $700 billion
[1:14] Financial bailout we're are in a serious
[1:18] economic crisis in the country and we
[1:21] know we've got to get something done as
[1:22] quickly as possible but the real heavy
[1:24] lifting is being done at the other end
[1:26] of Pennsylvania Avenue where the leaders
[1:28] from congressional finance and Banking
[1:29] Committee commes who hammered out the
[1:31] framework are now work
