[10:37] 56 Luke 8: 40-56 Jesus has just returned

[10:43] uh from the Gentile region of the

[10:45] gatherin and they didn't like him there

[10:49] because he cast out some demons and they

[10:52] went into the pigs and the pigs ran off

[10:54] a cliff and choked themselves in the sea

[10:57] the people came out and saw the men that

[10:59] that were demon possessed sitting

[11:01] clothed and in their right mind and said

[11:03] where's the

[11:04] pigs the pigs were the ones that were

[11:06] dead they said oh we don't want you here

[11:09] and they they had fear in their hearts

[11:11] and they asked Jesus to leave so they

[11:13] wanted Jesus to depart the Bible says

[11:19] across the sea uh the multitudes we find

[11:22] them in verse 40 are here so let's pick

[11:25] up in verse number 40 of Luke chapter

[11:29] came to pass that when Jesus was

[11:34] what a difference from the crowd he

[11:35] previously had they gladly received him

[11:38] for they were all waiting for him behold

[11:42] there came a man named jerus and he was

[11:44] a ruler of the synagogue and he fell

[11:47] down at jesus' feet and besought him

[11:50] that he would come into his house for he

[11:53] had one only daughter about 12 years of

[11:57] age and she lay a dying

[12:00] but as he went the people thronged him

[12:03] and a woman having an issue of blood 12

[12:06] years which had spent all her living

[12:08] upon Physicians neither could be healed

[12:12] of any came behind him and touched the

[12:15] border of His Garment and immediately

[12:18] her issue of blood

[12:20] staunched and Jesus said who touched me

[12:24] when all denied Peter and they that were

[12:27] with him said Master the mult multitude

[12:29] throng theee and press thee and sayest

[12:32] thou who touched me and Jesus said

[12:36] somebody hath touched me for I perceive

[12:39] that virtue is gone out of me the woman

[12:43] the woman saw that she was not hid she

[13:34] James and John the father and the mother

[13:37] of the maiden and all wept and bewailed

[14:53] 40 Jesus has come into across the sea

[14:57] from the gatherin

[14:59] and the multitude is waiting on him

[15:02] they're they're eager to see him and as

[15:05] he arrives he comes to this scene and

[15:09] there there's people

[15:10] everywhere and wouldn't it be great if

[15:12] everybody wanted to be where Jesus was

[15:14] at

[15:16] amen but we find that they're they're

[15:19] all gathered there in verse number

[15:23] 41 behold there came a man named jerus

[15:28] and he was a

[15:29] ruler of the

[15:31] synagogue now during that time each Town

[15:35] had a little synagogue there where they

[15:37] would have the reading of the word of

[15:39] God the teaching of the word of God

[15:40] Jesus frequented the synagogues and

[15:43] taught and preached there and they had a

[15:45] class system of leadership in the

[15:47] synagogues and jerus being a ruler he's

[15:49] toward the top he he's the one who got

[15:51] to pick out the passage basically for

[15:54] the day he was a leader of the leaders

[15:57] and he had a Rel relationship with the

[16:00] Old Testament with the word of God and

[16:02] he was around the teaching of God and

[16:04] evidently he knew about

[16:07] Jesus and something happened in his

[16:10] life he comes to Jesus and he fell down

[16:14] at Jesus feet and besought him that he

[16:17] would come to his

[16:21] house number one tonight there's a

[16:24] desperate

[16:25] situation A desperate situation we find

[16:28] find it in verse 41 and

[16:30] 42 I want you to think about it for a

[16:32] moment the leader of the synagogue he's

[16:34] a he's a well-known person in

[16:37] town he's well known to those around him

[16:41] and he works his way through the crowd

[16:43] to get to

[16:44] Jesus and the ruler of the synagogue

[16:47] when he gets to Jesus he falls on his

[16:50] feet because he knows where he's at he

[16:53] in the presence of

[16:55] Jesus verse 42 it says for he had one

[16:59] only daughter about 12 years of age and

[17:04] she she lay a

[17:09] dying but as he went the people thronged

[17:12] him so he comes to she he comes to Jesus

[17:15] and his daughter is sick and

[17:19] dying now Luke describes it for us he's

[17:21] got only one daughter you can also find

[17:24] this this miracle account in Mark 5: 21

[17:29] through 43 and then in Matthew chap 9:

[17:32] 18- 26 and the parallel gospels account

[17:35] the synoptic gospel accounts give us the

[17:38] information as well that he's got one

[17:40] daughter and she's 12 years old and

[17:42] she's sick and

[17:44] dying and he knew it's a desperate

[17:49] situation being a man a leader of the

[17:51] synagogue he has had doctors

[17:54] there other accounts tell us that as

[17:56] well

[17:59] all the doctors said nothing we can

[18:02] do but when the doctor says there's

[18:04] nothing we can do you can still go to

[18:08] Jesus so he runs to Jesus he comes to

[18:11] Jesus now I want you to picture it in

[18:12] your mind 12 years of life this young

[18:15] girl has

[18:17] had she she's grown up in a home and

[18:21] she's had life experiences she's played

[18:24] with toys she's enjoyed life as a young

[18:27] Jewish girl and now there's this

[18:30] desperate

[18:31] situation she's

[18:33] sick she's

[18:36] dying later in the text there's people

[18:39] already there it was popular of the day

[18:41] for people of wealth to hire mourners to

[18:44] come to hire extra people to come and

[18:47] mourn they were professional criers they

[18:50] come mourn because somebody had

[18:53] died when Jesus comes there's already

[18:55] professional Ms there this is not that

[18:57] it she's she's sick

[19:01] only they were at the stage of we could

[19:04] put it in today's serms they're getting

[19:05] ready to play in the

[19:06] funeral that's where this little girl's

[19:08] at it's a desperate situation she needs

[19:11] to be healed and her dad says I've got

[19:15] to go to

[19:16] Jesus so he comes to

[19:19] Jesus and Jesus agrees to go to his

[19:23] house but as he's going to his house it

[19:26] says the multitudes thronged him now I

[19:30] don't know about you but sometimes we

[19:33] can get

[19:35] impatient can you

[19:36] imagine parent you have a sick child

[19:39] who's on the verge of death and the Son

[19:42] of God says I'll go to your house and

[19:45] heal them and as you're going

[19:47] everybody's in the

[19:50] way that wouldn't stress you out I'm

[19:53] sure the Rest Of You' be all calm no

[19:56] problem you ever been trying to get

[19:59] somewhere and it seems like you caught

[20:00] the wrong cycle of lights and every

[20:04] light is red that you wanted it to be

[20:06] and it's

[20:09] like you know what we do we're like I'm

[20:11] gonna speed real quick to get on the

[20:13] other cycle if I can get on the tail end

[20:15] of the other cycle it'll make my day

[20:17] better but there's that frustration that

[20:19] comes and the

[20:21] multitudes are thronging

[20:24] him look at our text if you would verse

[20:29] and a woman having an issue of blood 12

[20:32] years just spent all their living upon

[20:34] Physicians neither could be healed of

[20:39] any so there's a desperate situation

[20:42] number two tonight there's a pause in

[20:47] the delivery of

[20:49] help there's a pause in the delivery of

[20:54] help Jesus is on the way to the man's

[20:57] house to his K his daughter who's about

[21:00] to die and some other

[21:03] lady stops

[21:05] by and touches the H of Jesus's

[21:10] garment now some interesting things

[21:12] about this woman as well the one the

[21:15] woman has an issue of

[21:17] blood she's had it for 12

[21:21] years now we're reading the gospel

[21:24] account of which gospel writer

[21:28] Luke what was Luke's

[21:31] occupation position I always find it

[21:34] interesting how God uses the personality

[21:38] of the gospel writers in their

[21:42] writing they're writing what God told

[21:44] them to write but it's interesting to me

[21:46] sometimes how the personality comes out

[21:48] because look what he says here in verse

[21:50] 43 she's had an issue of 12 years which

[21:52] had spent all her

[21:54] living upon

[21:56] Physicians neither could could be healed

[22:00] of

[22:00] any the doctor said she spent all her

[22:04] living the doctor's bills were too

[22:07] much she spent all that she had for the

[22:10] last 12 years now remember our first

[22:12] part of our text we've got a 12-year-old

[22:14] girl who's lived a life of excitement

[22:17] and growing up in a home and now she's

[22:18] got a a moment in her life that she's

[22:21] sick and she's dying now we have another

[22:23] lady who's had 12 years of misery 12

[22:27] years of dealing with this disease and I

[22:30] want you to notice that both of their

[22:32] responses is to go to Jesus so whether

[22:35] it was a moment problem or a Year's

[22:39] problem the response is go to

[22:42] Jesus so she comes to

[22:44] Jesus she touches the him of the G now I

[22:47] want you to look at verse

[22:50] 43 could be healed of any couldn't be

[22:53] healed verse 44 came behind him and

[22:57] touched the border of His Garment

[22:59] and

[23:01] immediately and immediately her issue of

[23:04] blood

[23:07] staunched so she comes from behind and

[23:11] she reaches

[23:12] out for

[23:15] Jesus she reaches out to him and she

[23:17] touches the Hem of His Garment here in

[23:20] Luke chapter number

[23:21] eight she reaches out for

[23:25] Jesus when she touches the Hem of His

[23:27] Garment instantly

[23:29] immediately she's

[23:31] healed

[23:33] immediately what a difference he made

[23:36] immediately in her

[23:38] life turn over if you would to Matthew

[24:04] worshiped him saying my daughter is even

[24:15] diseased with an issue of blood 12 years

[24:59] stopped you ever thought about how jarus

[27:08] master we first talked about a desperate

[27:11] situation secondly a pause in the

[27:13] delivery of help in verses 45 through 48

[27:17] now here a moment of

[27:22] hopelessness a

[27:24] moment of hopelessness

[27:38] dead trouble not the

[27:43] master but look at verse

[27:46] 50 but when Jesus heard

[27:50] it he answered him saying fear not

[30:40] lying Jesus comes into the

[30:43] room as Jesus enters the room where the

[30:47] young lady is at go back to Luke chapter

[30:54] 8 verse 54 and he put them all out out

[30:59] he took her by the hand and called

[31:51] their daughter's alive she was dead now

[31:55] she's alive because of Jesus

[32:01] increased because Jesus is in the

[32:08] room so as we think about it tonight in

[32:10] our own personal

[32:15] lives we want to remind ourselves of

[32:18] Point number one where we talked about a

[32:20] desperate

[32:22] situation we live in the last days my

[32:24] friend and this world is getting

[32:26] wickeder and wickeder by the I don't

[32:28] even think that's proper grammar they're

[32:29] getting more wicked every single

[32:32] day but what does this world need as

[32:35] they're sinking in sin as it's getting

[32:38] more wicked every single day they need

[32:42] Jesus he's the answer we're in a

[32:45] desperate situation in this world and

[32:47] the answer is Jesus it's always been

[32:50] Jesus he's the main thing and we need to

[32:53] keep the main thing the main thing and

[32:56] that's Jesus is in the need of people

[32:59] coming to him and him saving their

[33:01] lives sin sick people need Jesus

[33:05] everybody sin sick and they need

[33:10] Jesus secondly we talked about a

[33:13] pause and a delivery of

[33:16] help we talked about the woman with the

[33:18] issue of blood but she came reaching for

[33:21] Jesus want to remind you about this when

[33:24] we reach out to Jesus he changes you or

[33:29] he changes your

[33:32] circumstance when you reach out to Jesus

[33:35] he either changes you or it changes your

[33:38] Circumstance the woman with the issue of

[33:41] blood she reached out 12 years she'd

[33:43] been dealing with that problem for 12

[33:45] years and she said if I could just touch

[33:47] the Hemm of His

[33:49] Garment when she touched the Hem of His

[33:51] Garment instantly Jesus changed

[33:55] her my friend I don't know what you're

[33:57] dealing with in your life but when you

[33:59] reach out to Jesus he'll change you or

[34:01] he'll change your

[34:02] circumstance you just got to reach out

[34:04] to him he's the same Jesus then he's the

[34:14] things and when you reach out to him he

[34:19] circumstance in a moment of hopelessness

[34:28] bother Jesus discouragement and fear

[34:32] believe when Jesus is

[34:40] believe don't let your fear get bigger

[37:11] into a medical crisis and thank the Lord

[37:13] that person was there and they could

[37:17] help and I looked at that person and I

[37:21] them you ever thought what would have

[37:23] happened if you hadn't been there

[37:29] the person looked at me said Not until

[37:32] just

[37:33] now you know what's amazing though right

[37:36] on

[37:37] time Jesus had them there right on time

[37:40] right for that moment right for that

[37:42] purpose why because he's an on time

[37:45] God that person Shar me pray for the

[37:48] person that had the medical emergency

[37:49] they need the Lord they need the Lord so
