[0:57] journalism intersect more than in

[1:08] journalist. And for 17 years, he hosted

[1:10] Meet the Press on NBC. Today, as he was

[1:13] preparing for this week's program, Russ

[1:15] collapsed and died. Here's our chief

[1:18] White House correspondent, Martha

[1:19] Ratitz.

[1:22] It was NBC's Tom Brokoff who delivered

[1:25] the news.

[1:26] >> It is my sad duty to report this

[1:28] afternoon that my friend and colleague

[1:30] Tim Russert, the moderator of Meet the

[1:33] Press and NBC's Washington Bureau Chief

[1:36] collapsed and died early this afternoon

[1:39] while at work at the NBC News Bureau in

[1:42] Washington.

[1:42] >> It was 1:40 when the 58-year-old Russ

[1:45] was stricken. Paramedics rushed to NBC's

[1:48] Washington Bureau, but were unable to

[1:51] revive him. Russ
