[0:00] Hello, I'm John Roberts, and welcome to
[0:01] the CBS Evening News online edition.
[0:04] Just ahead, Hurricane Katrina comes
[0:06] ashore in South Florida. Mark Strassmann
[0:09] has the latest on the big storm. Also,
[0:11] you'd never think that maggots and
[0:13] leeches would be part of modern
[0:15] medicine, but indeed they are, and now
[0:17] the FDA is regulating their use. We'll
[0:20] have that story for you. And you'll meet
[0:22] an artist whose photographs are so big
[0:25] and so detailed, even the government is

[0:54] Strassmann begins our storm coverage for
[0:56] us tonight. He's in the thick of it in
[0:57] Deerfield Beach, Florida. Mark.
[1:01] >> John, along with these heavy winds and
[1:03] rains, all the power is out in this
[1:05] neighborhood, and the beach is a
[1:07] stinging sandstorm. Katrina is showing
[1:10] its muscle. Katrina soaked the Bahamas,
[1:13] bulking up and bound for Florida, where
[1:15] it's expected to hit land as a Category
[1:18] 1 hurricane and dump more than a foot of
[1:21] rain. Millions of people in Florida's
[1:23] southeast coast are now under a
[1:25] hurricane warning from Jupiter Inlet to
[1:27] Florida City, just abov
