[9:01] 22 as I was trying to pray and see what

[9:05] the Lord would have me to preach it was

[9:07] kind of a journey on what he would have

[9:09] me to preach but I finally landed on

[9:10] this passage and uh I believe this is

[9:13] what the Lord will have me to preach

[9:14] tonight so Genesis chapter

[9:17] 22 if you uh are able to please stand

[9:20] for the reading of God's word we'll be

[9:22] starting in verse number one and it says

[9:25] and it came to pass after these things

[9:27] that God did tempt Abraham and said unto

[9:30] him Abraham and he said behold here I am

[9:34] and he said take now thy son thine only

[9:37] son Isaac whom thou lovest and get thee

[9:40] into the land of Mariah and offer him

[9:42] there for a burnt offering upon one of

[9:44] the mountains which I will tell thee of

[9:47] and Abraham rose up early in the morning

[9:49] and saddled his ass and took two of his

[9:52] young men with him and Isaac his son and

[9:54] clav the wood for the burnt offering and

[9:56] Rose up and went unto the place of which

[9:59] God had told him then on the third day

[10:01] Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the

[10:04] place a far off and Abraham said unto

[10:06] his young man abide ye here with the ass

[10:13] Abraham took the wood of the burnt

[10:15] offering and laid it upon Isaac his son

[10:47] laid the wood in order and bound Isaac

[10:49] his son and laid him on the altar upon

[10:51] the wood and Abraham stretched forth his

[10:54] hand and took the knife to slay his son

[11:47] full obedience if you're not following

[11:49] all three things he would say go clean

[12:12] three God asked Abraham to give his only

[12:15] son as a burnt offering his only son

[12:17] which he loved now remember God gave

[12:21] Isaac to Abraham and Sarah in chapter

[12:24] 17 God says he will bless her and give

[12:26] them a son but yet Abraham laughs he's

[12:30] like are you joking he actually says I

[12:33] am 100 and Sarah is

[12:36] 90 you're really gonna give us a son but

[12:40] God says yes and God gave them a son but

[12:43] he questions God he's he's curious like

[12:45] are you serious like don't you know I'm

[12:49] this old but yeah he still questions God

[12:51] and laughs at what God says but God

[12:54] provides him a son God gives him a son

[12:57] he says he says he will establish his

[13:00] Covenant with

[13:02] Isaac Abraham's faith is really weak

[13:05] here that's why he laughs when God

[13:07] promises a son he couldn't believe it

[13:11] that's why he questioned God he pretty

[13:22] decision but fast forward to chapter

[13:26] 22 When God says to Abraham in verse two

[13:30] take now thy son thine only son Isaac

[13:37] burnt offering upon one of the mountains

[13:39] which I will tell thee of and Abraham

[13:42] rose up early in the

[13:44] morning he he doesn't question he

[13:48] doesn't say are you sure are you sure he

[13:50] doesn't question God and what God's

[13:52] saying here he just does it he just

[13:55] takes What God Says and he acts upon it

[14:02] procrastinate God said and Abraham acted

[14:16] blessing and now God says give him back

[14:38] Abraham doesn't ask he just starts

[14:40] acting upon what God

[14:43] said he didn't say why he didn't

[14:46] question he just acted upon

[14:48] it nowadays if we question everything

[14:52] our natural response to everything is

[15:21] so what kind of reason is that what kind

[16:36] Abraham trusted that God had a plan he

[16:40] just obeyed he surrendered himself and

[16:46] went and acted upon

[16:48] it now Abraham prepares to give up his

[16:51] son he has the supplies he sees the

[16:54] place now it's time is Faith it gets put

[16:57] to the test

[16:59] in verse six and Abraham took the wood

[17:02] of the burnt offering and laid it upon

[17:04] Isaac his son and he took the fire in

[17:06] his hand and a knife and they went both

[17:09] of them

[17:10] together and Isaac spake unto Abraham

[17:13] his father and said my father and he

[17:15] said here am I my son he said behold the

[17:19] fire and the wood but where is the Lamb

[17:22] for a burn

[17:23] offering and Abraham said my son God

[17:26] will provide himself a lamb for a burn

[17:28] offer offering so they went both of them

[17:30] together and they came to the place

[17:32] which God had told him of and Abraham

[17:35] built an altar there and laid the wood

[17:44] Abraham stretched forth his hand and

[18:23] obey in verse 11-8 it says and the angel

[18:27] of the Lord called unto him out of

[18:28] heaven and said Abraham Abraham and he

[18:30] said here am I and he said lay not thine

[18:33] hand upon the lad neither do thou

[18:35] anything unto him for now I know that

[18:39] thou fearest God seeing thou Hast not

[18:42] withheld thy son thine only son from me

[18:46] and Abraham lifted up his eyes and

[18:48] looked and behold behind him a ram

[18:50] caught in a Thicket by his horns and

[18:52] Abraham went and took the RAM and

[18:54] offered him up for a burnt offering in

[18:57] the setad of his son

[18:59] and Abraham called the name of the place

[19:01] Jehovah Gyra as it is said to this day

[19:04] in the Mount of the Lord it shall be

[19:05] seen and the angel of the Lord called

[19:07] unto Abraham Out of Heaven the second

[19:09] time and said by myself have I sworn

[19:13] sayeth the Lord for because thou Hast

[19:15] done this thing and Hast not withheld

[19:18] thine son thine only son that in

[19:21] blessing I Will Bless thee and in

[19:23] multiplying I will multiply thy seed as

[19:25] the stars of the heaven and as the sand

[19:28] which is upon on the seashore and thy

[19:30] seed shall possess the Gate of his

[19:32] enemies and in thy seed shall all the

[19:35] nations of the earth be blessed because

[19:39] thou Hast obeyed my

[19:42] voice God didn't want Isaac to die he

[19:45] wanted Abraham to

[19:47] surrender he wanted Abraham to just put

[19:51] his want aside and just give it all to

[19:53] God Abraham he's loving he loves his son

[19:56] do you think he really wanted he's like

[19:58] okay I'm gonna go kill my son because

[20:00] God said so that's not

[20:02] it I doubt Abraham really wanted to just

[20:05] go through with

[20:07] it but he was willing to obey because

[20:10] God said

[20:12] so because of Abraham's obedience God

[20:15] blessed him all because he obeyed in our

[20:19] lives God may be asking us to give up

[20:21] something but we keep saying why we keep

[20:24] questioning why God we don't need the

[20:27] answer to each of our questions we need

[20:30] to obey the one who says

[20:32] so Abraham was willing to give up his

[20:35] son because God said so but God gave him

[20:38] back his son and blessed him

[20:40] mightily God may want you to Just

[20:42] Surrender Your Will and your wants to

[20:44] him so he can give them back and bless

[20:48] it just because just because you you

[20:52] want this thing in your life just give

[20:54] it to God God wants what's best for you

[20:59] but we got to we got to obey God because

[21:01] he said so not because of the reasoning

[21:05] behind

[21:07] it God didn't want Isaac he wanted

[21:10] Abraham's obedience in our lives God's

[21:12] asking us to do stuff but we're always

[21:14] like well what's the reason what's the

[21:17] reason once we find out the reason oh

[21:20] I'll do it now I'll do it now that's a

[21:23] good reason to do it we shouldn't be

[21:24] doing it for the reason we should be

[21:26] doing it because he said so amen there's

[21:29] a yes there is a reason but if he says

[21:32] so that's it there's that there's that

[21:35] little term he uh God said it I believe

[21:38] it that settles it that's not the case

[21:41] God says it that settles it if you

[21:43] believe it or not but if he says it we

[21:46] ought to obey it but we're always it

[21:49] says whether therefore you eat drink or

[21:52] whatsoever you do do all to the glory of

[21:54] God it doesn't say whether therefore you

[21:57] eat drink or whatsoever you do do for

[21:59] good reason it doesn't say that it says

[22:02] do all for the glory of

[22:04] God so today what are you doing for the

[22:08] reason When God says I want you to do it

[22:10] for me I want you to do it for me I

[22:12] don't want you to do it for the reason

[22:14] or for the why yes wise are wise are

[22:16] good why do you do this why do you do

[22:17] this but ultimately we should be doing

[22:19] everything for

[22:21] him God wants your obedience but why

[22:26] because he said so so the the title why

[22:30] obey it's not because of the reason it's

[22:35] circumstances we obey because of the who

[22:38] we obey because God said

[22:42] so Abraham was tested the word tempt in

[22:46] verse one was to test what it goes back

[22:49] on is to test a faith that can't be

[22:52] tested is a faith that can't be

[22:56] trusted so what's God asking you to give

[23:00] up what's what's your Isaac you could

[23:04] say that God says give it to me just

[23:06] give it to me I have a plan and purpose

[24:33] other times that we just need to be

[24:48] yes know in Abraham's case if you if you

[24:52] notice in the text it says it took him

[24:55] days three days to get there

[25:00] three days of thinking about what he was

[25:03] obeying three days to carry the burden

[25:06] of knowing what he's got to do in order

[25:09] to obey God three days of knowing I

[25:13] don't have a lamb I'm supposed to offer

[26:50] God God reveals to him why he was

[26:55] tested he didn't tell him ahead of time

[27:05] obey and not explain to us later

[27:09] on why we went through that situation

[27:12] why we went through those difficult

[27:14] times in this situation in verse number

[27:17] 12 he tells him because that thou

[27:22] God now wait a minute I want to ask you

[27:26] question who's that statement

[27:29] four is it God confessing that he didn't

[27:33] know what Abraham was going to

[28:31] adults and you get married and you start

[28:33] your own life that verse in Ephesians

[28:36] that says honor thy father and the

[28:38] mother does that mean I got to obey my

[28:40] parents even though I'm 30

[28:45] now well the word honor there doesn't

[28:48] mean

[28:50] obey it means to give honor to respect

[28:53] to make venerable it says so what what

[28:56] does that mean it means that because

[28:58] they're your parents what they say

[29:01] carries more weight than somebody

[29:04] else because that God put them in your

[29:07] life what they say carries more weight

[29:11] than some other person on the street or

[29:14] it ought to we ought to always remember

[29:18] this as parents we all grow in a place

[29:20] that Authority changes to

[29:23] influence we always want to have

[29:25] influence in the lives of our kids we

[29:28] always want to be a voice that they can

[29:30] hear but guess what parents they may not

[29:33] take your

[29:35] advice they may not do what you tell

[29:37] them to

[29:39] do but young people that have parents

[29:42] that give you advice you ought to let it

[29:45] carry a little more weight than just

[29:47] somebody else's

[29:49] advice so Abraham he it's revealed to

[29:54] him the

[29:56] why God says now I

[29:59] know what God is saying to Abraham your

[30:02] obedience

[30:05] shows what your heart is

[30:08] doing then God talks to him later on in

[30:11] the passage about the blessing that

[30:14] comes always always

[30:19] remember when it comes to the

[30:22] lord it's not proper to argue

[30:28] with God in his Direction in your

[30:32] life we ought to be willing to say yes

[30:37] to the

[30:38] Lord so what's your

[30:41] Isaac what's the thing God's telling you

[30:44] to let go and let God have what's the

[30:48] action of obedience that he's asking

[30:50] from

[30:53] you Abraham had faith in what God had

[30:56] said when your faith tank is full it's

[30:59] easier to obey

[31:00] God when your faith tank is running on

[31:05] fumes it gets very difficult to obey God

[31:12] away Faith cometh by hearing and hearing

[31:16] by the word of God the word of God in

[31:20] our lives increases our faith he

[31:25] tested is a faith that cannot be trusted

[31:45] faith tank is low say yes to the

[32:05] him well I don't know well he gave us a

[32:08] whole word the word of God that has a

[32:11] lot of things that God asked of us to

[32:14] do and we ought to say

[32:19] yes listen when it comes to Parenting

[32:23] parents you know this when we give

[32:26] instructions to our children their

[32:28] instructions for obedience they're not

[32:32] suggestions we truly want them to obey

[32:35] what they've been told When God says it

[32:39] word and he gives a

[32:42] command it's not a

[32:45] suggestion he really wants us to do it

[32:49] he wants us to

[32:53] obey so

[36:34] all those excited by that decision let

[36:38] excited for them and looking for that so

[36:40] at the end of the service today make

[36:42] sure you come by and welcome them to the

[36:44] membership of Bible Baptist Church um if

[36:47] we can put up that new slide get that

[36:53] Wednesday we are going to start a focus

[36:58] for Wednesday to Wednesday on a

[37:01] particular area of prayer for the church

[37:05] and so tonight we started if you follow

[37:07] us on social media on Facebook or on

[37:10] Instagram you saw this picture today

[37:14] pray for the bus Ministry and so every

[37:18] Wednesday there'll be a new

[37:21] focus and we want to desire as church to

[37:24] pray on purpose for the different

[37:27] Ministries or different things that come

[37:29] up so we started with the bus Ministry

[37:32] and it's not just going to be in our

[37:35] walls things to pray for we ought to

[37:39] pray for our community we ought to pray

[37:42] for our Police Department our school

[37:45] teachers the fire department so there'll

[37:46] be different ones each week and so when

[37:49] you come to church on Wednesday night

[37:50] we're going to mention the

[37:52] focus so what we're asking is every day

[37:55] during the week to pray for that

[37:58] particular

[37:59] Focus onp purpose praying and so every

[38:03] week every Wednesday if you're on social

[38:06] media it'll be shared earlier in the day

[38:08] I believe it drops at 7 o'clock in the

[38:10] morning and it'll be available for you

[38:11] to see i' encourage you to share it by

[38:14] the way not only is that for

[38:17] us that's also a testimony to our

[38:20] community that we're praying and we're

[38:23] praying for our community and we're

[38:25] praying for our bus Ministry in fact

[38:27] today got a phone call about 5:00 this

[38:30] afternoon from a lady who got saved at

[38:33] Bible Baptist Church when it was on

[38:35] Sunset years ago when she was a little

[38:37] girl and she's moved back to town and

[38:40] she needs she doesn't drive doesn't have

[38:43] a vehicle she needs a ride to church on

[38:44] Sunday so we're going to pick her up on

[38:46] the bus Sunday she's 60 years old and is

[38:50] planning to ride the bus on Sunday so uh

[38:53] we're excited meet her she's excited to

[38:55] come back to church she said I'm so

[38:56] excited to get to come back back to

[38:57] Bible Baptist Church and so she said I

[39:00] knew we ran buses when I was a little

[39:02] girl and I figured you still did and I

[39:04] said we still do and so we're going to

[39:06] pick her up Sunday so excited about that

[39:09] U but pray for our busman industry if

[39:11] you haven't got one yet out on the desk

[39:14] there is a bus rider prayer list it's

[39:17] got all their names you pray for

[39:21] them you pick one up and you can pray

[39:23] for them you ought to pray for the buses

[39:27] you ought to pray for the workers and

[39:29] the drivers and all of those things and

[39:32] you ought to pray for new riters and for

[39:35] all the writers that do come on purpose

[39:39] so we're going to desire to have a focus

[39:41] every Wednesday and it'll go from

[39:43] Wednesday to Wednesday and so we want

[39:45] you on purpose to pray God ask of us to

[39:49] pray intercessory prayers praying for

[39:52] others so let's do it let's pray on

[39:55] purpose so each week we'll have a focus

[39:58] so brother Jesse is working on uh

[40:01] graphic design work that'll go with uh

[40:04] every week and so it it'll look nice

[40:06] it'll be sharp and so we want to

[40:08] encourage you to be involved in that and

[40:10] be praying for that if you are on social

[40:11] media Instagram or Facebook share it

[40:14] across the platforms and encourage

[40:16] people to do that all right and so we're

[40:18] thankful tonight to pray for the bus

[40:21] Ministry lives have been changed through

[40:24] the bus Ministry so I want you to pray

[40:25] on purpose that's the focus us for the

[40:27] next week is to pray on purpose for the

[40:30] bus Ministry so I want to encourage you

[40:32] to do

[40:33] that also I want to give you a special

[40:35] prayer request tonight we're going to do

[40:37] two things tonight we're dismissed I

[40:38] know there's a lot of other needs going

[40:39] on we're going to mention two special

[40:41] requests and then we're going to have a

[40:43] time of prayer one is on purpose pray

[40:46] for the bus

[40:47] Ministry number two pray for Miss an uh

[40:52] her husband Ted is now home and he's on

[40:55] hospice care and she's trying to get

[40:59] everything set up to take care of him

[41:00] and right now it's very heavy very

[41:04] difficult I was over there today so

[41:06] really pray for Miss Anne and also pray

[41:10] for Ted because the Lord's working on

[41:12] his heart I got the opportunity today to

[41:16] come by and he was cranky when I got

[41:19] there I'm not lying to you or tattling

[41:22] on him he said to me I'm a cranky man

[41:25] and I don't want to do what I'm supposed

[41:26] to do

[41:28] and we had a conversation and then he

[41:30] said all right I'll do

[41:32] it and he did it what he was supposed to

[41:35] do he submitted so that was a Hallelujah

[41:38] moment and so the nurse that was there

[41:42] told him said well if you don't do it

[41:44] next time I'm going to call the

[41:45] preacher and so we're thankful that he

[41:49] did that but really pray for an we are

[41:52] working through the insurance companies

[41:54] working through all of that stuff trying

[41:55] to help her and it's a a burden right

[41:58] now and so you really pray for an and uh

[42:01] if you'd like uh ways to help you can

[42:04] see my wife or I we can give you some

[42:05] direction on that really pray for Miss

[42:08] an and uh pray that God would intervene

[42:11] in this area and it it gets

[42:15] difficult because eventually she's

[42:17] probably going to get to the point that

[42:18] she's going to have to make a hard

[42:20] decision on whether he can stay at the

[42:23] house or not and so you really pray for

[42:25] an we're trying to get everything set up

[42:27] the best we can for her we really pray

[42:29] for Miss an all right and so uh I'd

[42:32] encourage you to do that you can call

[42:34] her and talk to

[42:36] her but you'll might hear her having to

[42:40] take care of Ted in the background so U

[42:42] just really pray for her if you would

[42:45] and so keep her in mind and then

[42:47] continue to pray for all the other areas

[42:50] in our church so we ought to pray for

[42:51] pray for this coming Sunday I'm thankful

[42:53] for the visitors we had this past Sunday

[42:56] a lot of them told me I'll see you next

[42:57] Sunday so we hope that that that plays

[43:00] out and they'll be here next Sunday but

[43:02] invite somebody to come fth Sunday

[43:04] fellowship and so I encourage you invite

[43:06] someone to come and be a part of that

[43:08] all

[43:10] right right Miss Robbie's got some

[43:12] upcoming tests she did not want to do

[43:15] but the preacher suggested she' do it

[43:17] and she finally gave in and said yes and

[43:19] so thankful for Miss Robbie saying yes

[43:22] to the test amen and so pray pray for

[43:25] Robbie's upcoming test important one

[43:27] there and so pray for one another uh

[43:30] check on those that are shuttin and that

[43:33] are elderly right now especially with

[43:34] all the Heat going on make sure you pray

[43:36] for them and thankful for how God's

[43:38] answered prayer um my wife and I got a

[43:41] prayer request earlier this week there

[43:43] was a person that they thought was going

[43:45] to have a miscarriage and uh we got to

[43:47] pray for them and thankfully praise the

[43:49] Lord that didn't happen and they texted

[43:53] us today and said it's a miracle

[43:57] it's a God thing God can do those things

[44:00] and so but if you would would you bow

[44:02] your heads for just a moment and I'd

[44:05] encourage you right where you're at to

[44:06] pray uh pray for Ted and an and then

[44:10] also pray for the bus Ministry and then

[44:13] here in just a moment brother Samuel's

[44:15] going to come and lead us in a prayer on

[44:19] behalf of that and then uh right after

[44:22] that we'll be um dismissed we'll have

[44:25] ushers at the back door have an offering

[44:27] tonight and any cash that comes in we

[44:30] want to be a blessing to the intern as

[44:31] we have with all our interns and so any

[44:34] of the cash that comes in tonight would

[44:35] be a blessing to the intern

[45:45] these prayer requests Lord we come to

[45:48] you tonight praying for our bus Ministry

[45:51] for the workers for the drivers for the

[45:54] kids and for everyone that's involved

[46:00] service that is provided to you and for

[46:03] you on behalf of the children and the

[46:05] adults that ride on the bus we ask you

[46:08] to bless the bus Ministry this Sunday

[46:10] and be with the lady that's going to be

[46:13] visiting that used to come and is going

[46:15] to be riding the bus again please bless

[46:17] her and give her a good weekend to allow

[46:20] her to be able to ride the bus and bless

[46:26] just the best experience so that way

[46:35] to please be with um Miss Anne and her

[46:38] husband Ted as they're going through the

[46:40] situation we ask you that please

[46:42] strengthen and comfort and guide an and

[46:45] be with Ted and help strengthen and

[46:48] comfort him and give them Grace and just

[46:50] help them to keep their focus on you

[46:52] Lord and that way they can be

[46:54] strengthened through you throughout this

[46:56] situation

[46:57] and we ask you to be with Sunday

[46:59] services and for the Sunday School

[47:01] classes for the service in the

[47:04] auditorium for the preaching for the

[47:06] junior church for the singing Lord we

[47:09] ask you that every one of us no matter

[47:10] what we do whether we're eating

[47:12] breakfast drinking coffee or whatever we

[47:15] do Lord please help us to do it out of a

[47:17] heart and a motive to love and to serve

[47:20] you that you may receive the honor and

[47:21] Glory so that way we won't be hindering

[47:23] your spirit this Sunday we thank you for

[47:28] heard and Lord please help us to apply
